I was super excited to see you doing a gundam! A little disappointed that you didn't do a full painted build but still enjoyed your take on it. Kudos to you on trying something you are not accustomed to. If you try something like this again I hope you do a full paint video as I love the way your cars look when you paint them. I watch every minute of your videos and take away something every time that helps me build my kits a little nicer each time. Keep up the good work!
that is one nicely weathered gunpla! although I was expecting that you'd paint it, lol. but it was new for you, so I'm good. tho, maybe, if you decide to build one of these again, you'll customize it ;) again, really great work! I'm so glad I subscribed. so much quality content. kudos!
I'm only 8 minutes in, this looks cool! The only reason I don't buy em is because they are usually way more expensive than the cars, but if you think about it, you need less tools and paint so it's cheaper in the beginning
I'm into Formula 1 kits, got a bunch of 1/20 kits in my stash. The better ones, plastic ones, from Fujimi for example cost about the price of a nicer Master Grade Gundam, if not more expensive. The kit he was working on, the Grimgerde is one of the cheapest 1/100 kits you can find. And even though they're snap fits they're in no way simple and you need just as much tools and at least double the amount of paint needed for a car kit. The biggest Gundam kit I did was composed out of 33 plastic runners. Convert that to the paint needed to paint it. And yes, they need to be painted. Try the hlj.com for your model kit needs. That's mostly where I get all of mine.
I feel like putting half as much effort into this than you do your typical videos is a little insulting to any viewers who build primarily these kinds of kits and subscribe to you for quality modeling content of all kinds. The lack of clean up, priming, paint, detailing, decals, or more careful weathering like you'd see on one of your car builds sort of implies that you didn't take it seriously, or see it as being worth the effort. I was always taught that anything worth doing was worth doing well. If you put as much effort into your car builds as you did into this, I don't think you'd have many subs.
+Plastic Crack Addict this might be a bit to simple a way of seeing this. You are correct. I build cars. I do that with a passion. But when i try something new. I don't simply jump in to it head first. I take it slow. See if i like it and not get overwelmed lose interrest and not finish it at all. Instead i enjoyd the fun of simply building something without to much thinking, prepping and most of all worrying, I built it out of the box. Used flush cut pliers so there was not much clean up. I did the weathering the way i knew how and turned in a piece that i can look back to with a smile. I had fun. Learned some new stuff and also see potential in another one with more detail and effort put in it. Don't just assume things and take it as an insult. I share this hobby with others as a passion and am not affraid to try new things. Though i do it the way i want to do it, and am in no way trying to insult anyone, ever.
That's fine; a completely valid way to go about the hobby. No complaints there. You do you. But as far as your videos go: like it or not, you send a message with everything you do (and don't do) on screen. I'm telling you what I, a longtime viewer, took away from what you, gave me to view. Even if it wasn't the message you were sending, going in half-cocked on your first on-screen foray into a new aspect of your subject matter, sent a negative message, and was a misstep in my opinion.
Plastic Crack Addict although i agree with you i also dissagree. I spoke to the company giving me the kit. He said this was a good approuch as most on the regular gundam builders do it this way. Again as i said. I take a slow start, and will only improve on the next one. Don't see at as a negative thing. Just a start to something new.
I find pre-painted models annoying. Either it's the wrong color and a very strong color like red or yellow which you have to apply a metric ton of primer to cover it so you can then put the color you want, or it's exactly the color you want and then it feels like a waste to paint it, even though the finish would look better. I wish all models were just white or grey styrene except kids models.
With your tools and materials, I expected to see custom painted gundam with nice polished & glossy paintjob.

It is always fun building something different.

I was wondering when Gunpla would come to this channel
Thanks for the link. Looks great as I would expect from your talents.
Cant believe you built it after cutting all the pieces off the sprues, but man, it sure came out nicely...
rally voor to see you doing this. keep it up and keep trying New things so now and then. 10 thumps up
More pictures of it please. I wish I can just apply paints the way you do and improvise along the way.
really cool to see you do something different. can you do more things like this?
you should deff do gunplas more often
Something different, I like it :)
Are you ever going to do the Tamiya Africa Twin? It looks awesome
Probably not
Hi! I also became interested in Gundam Bandai.Has acquired several sets.
Only I will paint them with an airbrush)
What I found to make snapping the pieces together of one of these models is using vegetable oil
hey man nice build but one question that mini from hasegawa have you decided to do it or just sell it and buy a new kit
cettina messina it was not fixable. Tried removing the paint with every method i knew of, nothing worked, so i got a new one
and if you build the mini on the next month what color you have chosen for it and are you want to modify them
After using the flush cutters do you have to do much sanding to clean up the parts?
No
You should Do the Freedom Gundam 2.0 My all times favorite , put it together but nothing as fancy and cool as this one :)
Without a doubt the best Gunpla kit

LOL 11:55 got me laughing
Wow that weathering made it look 1,000,000 times better!

Daniel Z ok, nevermind. If they need that much paint and materials I'm not gonna do these lol
Kyle Sagun do u need glue with these kits
Sooo many pieces.
This is gonna be fun :D
Do more Gundam builds
This is a strange looking car
carburetor55 hahaha it's a standing car with a big gun.
You should try something else different like a Revell 1970 camaro or some other muscle car.
Yeah, but how did you feeel?
Steve Watts its not like building a car. But not a bad exercise
Never saw this one coming tho XD
Wow
