That little face plate is needed when it uses its horns to impale a enemy mobile armor or MS, to shock the ever living hell out of them from the inside.
Grim and helm share an inner frame, not making the helm 1/100 so ppl can have it and/or its sword for lupus is a waste. They can include the katana and other stuff like red barbatos eyes w/e to make it worth it. I'm bummed that the helm and landman rodi aren't getting a 1/100 since they're my favorite suits in the show.
Ark V It sucks that they're not doing certain kits in even HG and not even as HG Premium Bandai. But look at the Rouei. That is a Season 1 unit and it just got an HG release. At the least, we should be thankful that the main variations for Barbatos is getting a 1/100 release, as is some of the main enemy units. What I want to see (again) is MG IBO kits even if it's just all of the Barbatos variations.
Sick box art indeed. Sadly, it got more action in that box art than in the episode it appeared in. Hopefully, a future episode can redeem that... but with all the upcoming suits, chances look slim. Nice review as always. Gives a whole lot of insight within 5 minutes! Thumbs up!

The HG V08Re-0526 Helmwige Reincar is definitely a cool looking kit. But, I'm not a fan of HGs so I think I will keep waiting for MG IBO kits. The gold mustard color looks pretty cool IMO. FYI, this is in reference to the German play, Die Walküre (The Valkyrie). There are a total of 9 Valkyries Brünnhilde Gerhilde Ortlinde Waltraute Schwertleite Helmwige Siegrune Grimgerde Roßweiße ...2 of which have been in IBO thus far; V08Re-0526 Helmwige Reincar and V08-1228 Grimgerde. I wonder if the other 7 were destroyed in the Calamity War. Apparently, the horns on the V08Re-0526 Helmwige Reincar is used to impale enemies and electric shock enemies. I don't think it used that yet in the anime, as the V08Re-0526 Helmwige Reincar hasn't really done much at all thus far. 5:02 Yea. It's not really a "full package" as you said. It's pretty sad/annoying that we have to hope for things like hands to be included in another one of those High Grade IRON-BLOODED ARMS kits. They're basically the DLC equivalent to modern videogames for GunPla.

I'm with you. I think I'm going all MG. These HG kits are just too small for me. The RG's are nice but again too small. My 53 year old fingers and eyes are having a field day trying to build them . The one real good thing about HG's besides price is there's a ton of different MS's to choose from
I just finished snapping mine together. About the sword handle being loose, you actually just need to push it in further! The piece should touch the other end of the 'box', rather than stop in the middle. After that, no wobbly-wobbly.
The HR has a Monoeye? o_O? It's face reminds me of the Graze Ein and Shockwave. Paint it 2-tone Purple + Grey and give him a gun-arm and BOOM! Mobile Suit Shockwave!
Bandai said 4 Full Mechanics kits, but that doesn't mean they can't change their minds. But it doesn't matter for me. I'm just waiting for Master Grade IBO kits. ^_^

Well, IBO seems to focus more heavily on melee weaponry as opposed to long ranged weaponry. So it's not surprising that V08Re-0526 Helmwige Reincar doesn't have any guns. It's like a bull and just charges in. Those horns apparently impale and electrocute.

i dont quite understand what u r trying to say but from what i understand, the nano laminate armor is strong enough to withstand most kinetic energy. thus making physical melee weapons and heat the most viable options to penetrate/melt the armor. im almost certain tho that the heat would melt the pilot inside before it could actually melt the armor.

The Grimgerde was a masterpiece of a HG. Amazing colours, articulation and stickers in places were only essential. This was close, I just love the bulky aesthetic of it.
Apparently they do. I've seen people visiting the store and recording and they have an entire floor or something for GunPla. Weird how the name is Yodobashi *Camera* yet they have GunPla apparently. I mean GunPla is super popular in Japan so I guess you can't be that surprised, right?
Check out LABI in ikebukuro, tokyo. they have a entire floor that deticate to gunpla and Gundam. yodobashi have a limited options in Akihabara, so i will recommend labi and gundam front store at odaiba anytime. but yeah, if you are outside japan i recommend to buy kits from AmiAmi website.
if you are buying over seas, yoou should order from banzai hobby or hobby wave. banzai hobby is better for small purchases and and if you live in the us or canada, hobby wave is perfect for mid - large size purchases since they have flat rate shipping at 12 $ if u in the us and 18 if u live in canada.
The Model is awesome planning on repainting because I agree the blue and mustard ain’t my style but on a side note Did anyone else get extra parts like a random head piece and extra hands?
Great model and review. Would have to paint the gaudy yellow a dark red or even a flourescent red but would keep the yellow stickers for effect. Instead of the massive sword would be cool with a massive hammer like the Gundam Gusion, maybe use one of those with modified handle to fit!! I can see Reincar smashing the bejesus out of anyone!! Yeah just add butter and hot maple syrup!!!!
Never really got why Grimgerde and Helmwige Reincar had green visors in the art but not on the model kits. I guess you could use laminating film for the visors if you want it to be anime accurate.

With that head shape it looks like a warhammer khorne chaos warrior, the only thing missing is the skull between those 2 horns...but the color combination could've been better
chill with the sword holder jokes guys... it was his first time to use it. Give him a break. Although yeah, if Helmwige keeps it up, Isurugi might as well stick with the Schwalbe. It says in the wiki that it can fly within the atmosphere but we haven't even seen it within earth or mars.
Mecha Gaikotsu might I suggest a White and Silver Color Scheme with a bit of Gold Trim? But starforcenetwork is right he does remind me of Shovel Knight, which is a really fun game by the way totally recommend it to ya.

I for one actually love the colour scheme, it's different. But that sticker on the centre of the torso could have so easily been another part.
It's the same colours as McGillis had on his Graze Ritter.

I think that open part of the mace handle is supposed to slot into the sword's handle guard. Or am I wrong?

With that head shape it looks like a warhammer khorne chaos warrior, the only thing missing is the skull between those 2 horns...but the color combination could've been better
I think it'll look BA if you make the yellow gold or metallic and the blue a titanium blue.

Mecha Gaikotsu might I suggest a White and Silver Color Scheme with a bit of Gold Trim? But starforcenetwork is right he does remind me of Shovel Knight, which is a really fun game by the way totally recommend it to ya.

looks very nice, but also looks that bandai WANTED to have this kit have stickers, becouse it looks very easy to remake some pieces and get rid of stickers, except for the eye.

Yea, simply take off the handle mace and it can wield it with one hand.
I think you could use big Zeon hands and it would look pretty decent
This isn't actually the same frame type as the grimgerde, but the grimgerde itself, just with the armour swapped out.
