My utmost respect for the quality of your video's. If you ever need help in translation of French documents or parts sent from Belgium, just shout out.

You have truly been an inspiration for me, just starting the rust repair on my 245 Volvo, then turning it into a classic overland rig! Keep up the great work you do! Cheers! Dominic - Poland

I really like the cinematography in this video.
Your welding isn’t THAT bad. I’ve seen worse come out of “professional shops”

I think if this was my one and only project and I spent a week instead of just two evenings on this I could probably get it to be an invisible repair. Don‘t have that patience for this though…

The 205 metalwork is so thin it's near impossible to butt weld , id have wanted to use that complete headlight panel but that involves removing the wing which is a major pain on these and they are so easy damaged as they are bonded on and good gti wings are very hard to find now. The quality of the videos is top notch .

That's pretty solid worksmanship. I mean the welding could have been one continuous weld but I can't do that myself so yeah. Very relaxing watch again. Great music! Would be even better if you could add the music you used in the video description. Would love to listen to more of it.

Nope you should not do a continous weld becaus of to much temperature. The metal will bend like hell. It is only important to weld through and not just gluing it

There are reasons for both. If the skillset allows, a contineous TIG ground down and then planished back to shape with a hammer and dolly will be the best result. I didn‘t even try to remove some of the minor warps introduced through the heat, as those areas are entirely hidden. Back on the Rover I did a bunch of plugwelded lap joints, which are still perfectly fine. Metalwork is a difficult craft.

@@OnlyARoadtripAway the peugeot 205 has realy thin metal. I weldet many things on my. On the underground you can weld in one line even if it is not easy because the metal has only 1mm. Bud on this car i would never recoment it.

Great video... You tend to choose some pretty awesome cars!

Good to see you stepping out of a comfort zone. We really are lucky here in Australia with the rust. My 205 has sat in partial bare metal for years and only has minor surface rust.
The shift linkage retainer pins are a pain if you end up replacing it might be a good idea to make up something more reliable. I’ve lost a handful of them over the years.
