But the guest refused to let her join because the group is only for. "North Indians " .( From when Maharashtra is in north India ?? 😂😂 It's in western India.) But the group is only for those who belong to "north". So it's not enough to learn hindi . You should genetically belong to "north " also. 😅😅 ( Apna aadmi syndrome) You cannot integrate with them just because you know their language. All indians live in silos . It was disappointing for me as I follow Marathi - tamizh mixed culture. My guess is that the WhatsApp group exchanges sometimes racist or derogatory messages about locals ( Tamizh) and may be it will create unnecessary misunderstandings between us and our guest. . The point is Hindi is for the convenience and advantage of Hindi speaking people. It's not for uniting people. It was more shocking to my wife as she is official Hindi promotion officer . Not for me, as I had similar experiences earlier and got used to such things.😅.
Problem is hindi speaking people are reluctant to learn and speak new language other than Hindi. No matter in which states they go. It is very simple understanding is that being linguistic is good thing, you can access new culture, new thinking and new perspective and most importantly it is convenient if you are in that state.
