You guys are idiots, your minds have been infiltrated deeply with political virus.
First and foremost, the use of hindi across India is all about convenience in various aspects of life. The idea is never to replace local languages with hindi but to let them coexist.
Why no Kannada in Delhi metro for example is such a stupid argument because Kannada is a local language. This is the main reason why India needs one universal language which is native to the land. One must understand that the concept of language is to bring people closer and not to divide them.
Many states in India there is hindi alongside the local language, like Gujrat, Maharashtra, Bengal etc. Therefore it is only convenient if southern states also embrace Hindi alongside their local languages.

Manipur is gone. Hindi is made compulsory in many north eastern states (thanks to Amit shah). Telugu is next. Already Telugu people were proud of speaking in Hindi, Hindi is progressing rapidly in all parts of AP and TS.
Rest are TN, Kerala, Karnataka, and WB. Maharashtra cannot fight Hindi as long as Mumbai remains a Bollywood capital.
Only AI LLMs can save us. The sooner we implement real time translation tools that can translate texts, audio, texts in image, etc tp required formats in desired languages, the sooner we get relieved from center's insistence.

Kannada is 50 percent Sanskrit and 50 percent Tamil. Even a simple concept like "directions" in Kannada are 50 percent Sanskrit (Purab, Paschim, Uthar, Dakshin) and 50 percent Tamil (Vala, Eda, Keel, Mel). Kannada has no original identity. Even rock carvings in Karnataka from 1000 years earlier will have Kannada words pronounced like Tamil with "P" not with "H" like Paalu, Pasu, Pogu, Poraata, Pullu, Pendir, Paadu, Poo, Peerkaai, Panam, Paththu, Pidi. Its only recently in the last few centuries that Kannada replaced the "P" sound with "H" and changed it to Haalu, Hasu, Hogu, Horaata, Hullu, Hendthi, Haadu, Hoo, Heerekaai, Hana, Haththu, Hidi, e.t.c. Even your state Karnataka is "Karu Naadu Agam" a tamil name referring to Black soil land. Even carnatic music refers to carnatic region, not karnataka. Google "carnatic region" and you will realize that it refers to Tamilnadu during the British period geographical maps, e.t.c. We need to revoke the classical status given to Kannada and Malayalam.

But if you were to open a business and write kannada on your boards. We would have no problem. But we all know what happens to Hindi boards in bengaluru. Problem is not learning or respecting south Indian language. Problem is you should make one south Indian language compulsory for north Indians in schools because expecting a middle aged man to learn a new language is insane. He has got obligations.

Like this dude, many north Indians learn German, French, etc., never go to that country. They are taught Sanskrit as the third language. That’s really funny.
Millions are migrating to the South. At least if they are taught basics of South Indian languages, their life will get a little easier.

In Karnataka we want Kannada-English. Not Hindi where it has no own script as using Devanagari Lipi, and can't be National Language which born with Urdu by Arabs / Persians if I am not wrong. Kannada has its own history & furture if allowed to use as State Official Language by Govt. Also has its own script used for Koduva-Tulu-Konkani including Sanskrit being spoken as Mother Tangue in State itself but has no own lipi's to write. And English is very commonly used International Language to communicate with other States & Foreign Countries too, as it didn't killed our State Languages, instead helped to learn.
