- This incredible relic of 1980’s magic and glam remains in its original state, which is quite rare in New York City. Would you move in as-is, or renovate it to look like everything else in the city?

I’ll take it. I’m shocked. Was sure she would say over 2 mil.
Great apartment. Beautiful.
Patrick Bateman Vibes 💯
I don't think poker is a good idea with that ceiling 😂🤔
😂😂
😂
😂😂😂😂
Killjoy
Cash will you ask is there any HOA FEES for any of the properties you visit and let your subscribers know please.
Renovating this apartment would absolutely be criminal!!
That place is so coooolllllll!!!! I love it!!!
My parents dishwasher from 1968! Thanks for the walk down memory lane😊
Those mirrors!!!! Thanks Phil, Pam, and Cash 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Love Phil. He's so classy. Looks like he belongs in the apartment.
I was thinking the same thing.
You mean Phil Collins 😅
It would be kind of cool to buy it and wear linen suits and loafers all the time. Then either drive a Testarossa or a Countach....or maybe get one of those limos with the boomerang antenna on the trunk :)
That bread box "thing" is a proof box. This apartment is so incredible because the quality and attention to detail are remarkable. Everything is custom....made to order and so disco-elegant.
😂 Disco-elegant! This comment made my day. Thank you.😊
5:53 Jungle! 🤣
I miss those older dishwashers. They ran like a freight train for about 30 minutes and then were done, and your dishes were always clean! It didn't take an hour and a half like today's dishwashers do.
Mine takes at least 2 hours with the extra heat cycle. It's ludicrous makes a vibrating noise that goes right through you for the whole 2 hours
YES, and washing machines, too! Could get a load done in less than 20 minutes. Today, I just have the cheapest top loader, but they're all "efficient" now, and it takes 45 minutes.
I have the exact dishwasher in this video (Kitchenaid KDS-18), and yes, it's done washing in under 30 minutes.
Last year someone was selling a vintage KitchenAid dishwasher on FB Marketplace. It had sat unused for God-knows-how-long in their basement. The seller was confident it still worked. He noted that it would take two strong men to wrestle it out of the basement and warned that it was something that probably should be trailered instead of being put in the back of a SUV. I don't know what the current value is, but he was selling it for $300.
I really, really wanted it. I hunted down an old owners manual and factory repair manual. I was ready to fix anything wrong with it. Current owners of the same dishwasher wrote glowing reviews about how everything came out clean, no matter how bad the dishes were. The downside was that the dishwashers are very thirsty, but hey, you pick either clean and hassle-free, or efficient. You can't have both. LOL!
He told me he had a couple of potential buyers but would contact me if the sale fell through. Unfortunately I didn't end up getting it, but from time to time I think about it.
European dishwashers take up to 4 hours now for so called "economic" programs
beautiful house.. keep it as is.
I wouldn’t change a thing. Love it!
They should sell tickets, it's like a beautiful little mirrored time capsule :D 😍😍😍
Amazing apartment. I’ll take “as is”
I love it so unique
I believe that is what used to be the Barbizon Hotel for Women. I lived there for about 6 months when I graduated from college and moved into the city. I loved it there. For $100 a week you got a room, and they took your phone messages while you were in the shower! They had a pool, gym, and library. It was two blocks from Bloomingdale’s and I will always remember how much I loved living there. Years ago and before I lived there, Grace Kelly lived there. It was her first place in the city, too.
Rita Moreno lived there also
@@maddscientist3170 I didn’t know that! Thank you for telling me.
Well this particular building was built in '63 which is long after Grace first moved to NYC and Barbizon
The Barbizon for Woman in the East 60’s and Lexington Ave. was totally renovated in about 2007. I know because we looked at several apartments there. Very nicely finished but because they were hotel rooms originally, the rooms were small. They were renovated to be pied a terre’s for people not necessarily going to live full time. So this probably isn’t the Barbizon.
What fabulous memories!!!
WOW!!! I love it❤ wouldn't change a thing, Awesome
As someone who graduated HS in 82, yes mirrors were everywhere. And if you weren't rich you could buy self sick mirror tiles to cover your walls, mirrors on drawers, and closet doors were usually mirrors too.
I REMEMBER THOSE DAYS. I graduated HS 1979. I was living in Manhattan in 1983- on 72nd & York Ave. ❤❤❤❤
And today....I hate them. Its impossible to keep them finger print and smudge free. You'd have to wear cotton gloves in that closet. But...I'm OCD when it comes to things like that.😂
I would worry that all of the mirrors in this apartment would start crashing down at some point. The adhesive can only hold for so long! I like the apartment, but I hate all of the mirrors.
Those mirrors are permanently attached like the wallpaper common in that era.
@@vicki8261 The cheap ones were plastic - not glass, so when they inevitably fell they didn't break. I remember my Mom had a whole section of them on one wall of the family room. She ended up putting narrow tape on the edges to secure them so it looked like window panes.
Wow, great video. Thanks Cash!!!
That was fresh out of architectural digest in the 1980's. If I bought that, I wouldn't change a thing.
This was cool Cash.😊
What's MOST important is what is NOT mentioned here! 1.) This unit has monthly carrying costs of $7,240! - you read that right - taxes and maintenance are $7,240 A MONTH!; and 2.) the reason for this ridiculously high monthly charge is that this is a LAND LEASE building - this means that the condo/co-op does not own the land it is physically located on, which is a horror show financially. The first rule of buying a condo/co-op in NYC is - make sure the building you're buying into owns the land it is built on top of!!
I came looking for this comment. When Pam quoted 900k purchase price I immediately thought something was up. I was expecting 2 to 3 Million.
Wow, that's insane!
Thank you!!! I was ready to sell my condo and move in! My monthly condo charges are ridiculously low We have a huge garden and other amenities too
Love the lay out. Love the kitchen. Beats my galley kitchen Too many mirrors
Noted. Thank you. Who knew!
@@tsgormanMe too. I thought it quite reasonable.
Those appliances are in great condition.
Cash you found my apartment! I LOVE it. Would not change a thing!!!!!! Thanks!😊
Kim K will love it. Mirrors
I would love to know the backstory on things one. Who lived here. Why is it a time capsule, etc.
yeah theres no way its been vacant 40 years ...
This would be a good location for a movie
That apartment is perfect I wouldn't change a thing. If I lived there I'd spend all day trying to get in the safe.
Hahaha, you wouldn’t have time, you’d be spending all day polishing mirrors 😱
If it's your property you can just call a locksmith who does safes.
Mirrors above a card table ... I guess everybody wins!!
That price is nothing. Wow. I would have expected more. Wow.
i love it, the mirror furniture id replace most of it, especially that closet, but id love to live here
I have to say, coming from a designer, who ever did this condo did it in a timeless manor. It’s not for everyone, but it still works with style.
I love it just as is. Would not change a single thing.
Wow!!! What a cool apartment!!! I wouldn't change a thing!! Cash your film skills just keep getting better!!
Amazing Amazing Amazing
the really great thing about these old appliances from the 70's/80's with the possible exception of the fridge) is that they are always easy to fix. there's no technical need to get them replaced
I keep saying those mirrors and sunken in room are 70's
Yep and they still look immaculate.
Apparently a fridge with no icemaker and the freezer at the top is the simplest and needs the fewest repairs.
Nice ! Great tour.
What? 40 years? Now you have my attention....🤩
I think it's more of a pun about the fact that the interior design hasn't changed in 40 years. Not that it hasn't been occupied in that long.
MIRRORS: ABSOLUTELY HUGE IN THE 1980’s.
Cash's best Line of the Day: "Mirrors all around and you can see yourself for miles! The perfect apartment for a narcissist" LOL😝
I sure as HELL wouldn't play cards under that mirrored ceiling!
Or someone who is claustrophobic.
All those mirrors...great place for drawing/painting.
Mirrors on the ceiling, pink champagne on ice…..we’re all prisoner of our ow device! The buyer of this place would go through gallons upon gallons of winded a year!
🎶🎵🎼
Great presentation 👏👏👏
Absolutely fabulous! The price is amazing. Thank you for showing this to us.❤
Beautiful apartment to change it would be criminal
If i had the money I'd snatch that apartment right after this video ,the only thing that would change is the new ownership, the 80s was my jam .Can't believe it's actually selling for a decent price
I think the price is a steal. I’m still too poor to afford it, but I can see it’s a great deal for Manhattan
Me too! God, do I miss the 80s.
yes a steal alright, on top of the mortgage for that 899k you get to add 7k per month in fees or just 84 grand a year extra@@LifeAfterLosing
This is a very cool and well designed apt. Pam “gets” this apt. DONT TOUCH IT
I ADORE this appartment, and the price is surprisingly right! The ONLY THING: I DONT WANNA BE the ONE WHO CLEAN ALL THOSE MIRRORS in the appartment!!!!
Nb: Pam ALWAYS have NEAT Appartments!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Said the same thing!🧽👍
i would keep as is.....cool apartment
Seriously, I bet all those appliances still work and will last longer than modern ones. I would not change a thing in this apt for at least a year.
My mother's kitchen appliances are from the 60s and still in working order so I'm sure you're correct.
I don't claim to be wealthy or that I live in the lap of luxury like that stunning apartment, but I do have it beat in one respect - my stove is 45 years and it's in such good shape, I just can't part with it! All the burners work along with the oven. I love the knobs, and it even has a clock and built-in timer! They don't make them like that anymore! Great video Cash! I hope someone buys it and appreciates the treasure it is!
Great presentation! Very enjoyable and funny!1
I LOVE IT! Wouldn’t change a thing.
I love that you had Miami Vice style music playing! This was a blast from the past!
This video actually made me a little woozy. And, I don't ever suffer from vertigo or motion sickness. The mirrors were just too much. No wonder the price is under a million. The renovation costs will bring it up to double the asking price.
It’s gorgeous. Wow.
Such a cool retro vibe. I wouldn’t change any of it. Cleaning all the mirrors would be a full time job, though.
That looks like it should be in the movie, Wall Street...like a place that Bud Fox would live.
I love this! What a slice of history! Thank you Cash!
Great apartment. Love that it still has all the 80s fixtures.
I love the mix of both regular mirrors AND the smoked mirrors. That somehow makes this place just ultimate 80s. The kitchen lighting, the contact paper in the pantry, the track lighting…… takes me back to my childhood and puts a huge smile on my face!! THANK YOU for showing this incredible place! 😀❤️
I would 100% live here as is. Dope.
Playing poker with that mirrored ceiling should be a bit of a challenge ;-) Not even talking about that ceiling in the bedroom.
😂😂😂
👀
How convenient!
Subway entrance right there and next to it, a public bathroom! 🤭
I swear I think you get funnier with ever vlog..... I love it as always!!!!!! Big thumbs up👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I would leave it as it is!😊
It's amazing, I love it and wouldn't change a thing!
I love this place. So cool and elegant.
I would refer to that as a Florida beach condo style. You wouldn't know you were even in New York till you looked out the window. My favorite attribute of this place is all the unexpected angles. Nothing boxey or rectangular. Incredible apartment. Truly.
Design Fantastic of the ‘80’s.
Love this place!!
I can’t believe this is below 1 million. I love it! It’s like living in the show Dynasty.
What a blast from the past, this was fun to see. Always enjoy seeing Pam & Phil. Reading through the comments was entertaining as well.😃
That I think is the best home you have showed out of all of them!!! 😊👍
I’d love living there! It would be an awesome experience to keep everything as is. It’s art.
I wouldn't change a thing-LOVE IT!!
This is by far miles better than newer apartments They don't make character and charm like this today. That sofa is sublime, as is that hidden closet. It is a time capsule and must be protected at all costs. I hope the new owner appreciates how cool this place is.
I like Phil on the channel
Best apartment ever Cash! I love it and would not change a single thing! Thanks.
Wow. The continuity is comforting -- and shagadelic.
I would live in that apartment
That _was_ a mega-cool place.
What a great pad and for that price, it seems to good to be true....another fine NY apartment tour Cash !!!
Definitely a treasure for the right person!
I can’t believe how perfectly well preserved this place is. Not a scratch or millimetre of wear and tear. It’s almost bizarre. It’s so perfect it’s like no one has lived there, but no one has abandoned it to disrepair
either.
I LOL’d at the other agent talking about old school pink bathrooms. I love a good 60s/70s/80s bathroom! Pastel pink or blue are the best.
Gorgeous apartment! ❤ it.
I would buy it and leave it as is.
The apartment is more affordable than the Windex you'd have to invest in!
The pros use ammonia and water. Very cheap, and better results.
This place supercedes cool. If I had the dough, I buy it in a heartbeat! I wouldn't change a thing.
Cash- Stunning retro style that still works. Great location and reasonably priced for a change. Thanks for always bringing your viewership top quality videos.
Keep going!☮️👏👏👏👏
He was so funny! I grew up in the 80s and I loved to see this!
The mirrors appear to be polished plate glass mirrors. Polished plate was the highest quality. Very expensive to make. It is not made any more. It gave a perfect reflection free of any distortion. Mirrors are now made from ''Float'' glass. FULL of distortions. Whoever did the mirror work probably hoarded a warehouse full of polished plate. Glass manufacturers discontinued polished plate glass from the late 50's thru the 70's.
Wow! Thanks for that info. I love detail Info how cool.
One of the mirrored drawers that you opened was cedar lined!!!!
I was born in 1966 so definitely reliving the 80s with this video. Yes mirrors were a thing, I remember my parents remodeling our house in the 80’s and removing the yellow shag carpet, orange painted walls, and large floral print wallpaper that had been the height of fashion in 1975 and replacing it with quite a few mirrors. Not my style, and those of us of a certain age do not want a bathroom with mirrors in every direction, but it should be preserved as a time capsule.
I am "of a certain age" and do NOT want mirrors in the bathroom ... I quite agree with you!
The mirrors remind me of the ones in the changing rooms at Gertz and Macy's department stores. I'd go in with my mom and upon seeing the two mirrors facing each other I'd make believe I was dancing kicks in a chorus line. Lol!
@@epoelker Did that dressing-room dancing lead to dancing in a chorus line on Broadway? If not, sorry!
@@cathynewyork7918 No! It was just kid fun and a fond memory. ♥️
@@epoelker Aaaah ,,,, too bad! I did not achieve my childhood fantasies either! 🥲
In the 80's we loved mirrors and disco.
I... LOVE THIS!!! Born in '71 and I can totally relate to all the mirrors... hahaha!!! I even imagined my "dream house" in the 80's having a "sunken den" so the separate floor levels are awesome! I would probably only change the wallpaper and the gold fixtures!
Stunning!
