      Jordan Osmond Already subbed. Hard to say what my fave part was. I love THEM tho; they’re just so down-to-earth & seem like very kind ppl. I do love the tile & the fact they didn’t rush so they could recycle & upcycle things other ppl toss.
      This is one of my fave conversions. Oh, also I really liked where they placed the kitchen. I wish them all the best’✌🏼

      I really liked the slide out table , much easier to use that other table units, I think I love that the bed goes all the way to the back, I’m thinking that would be a much better set up, our van leaves 18 across the back for utilities.
      Did they have bathroom facilities? Liked the shower option too.
      It’s a winner

      tami stone Did you miss the beautiful kitchen set up they’ve designed? You don’t do your business where you eat usually do you? This van’s space has been maximised for it’s purposes and that’s something to applaud - maybe they can hold it in a little longer than you can and make use of the many available bathroom amenities on the road, or if not, provide Mother Nature some fresh fertiliser!
      Fix your attitude.

    • @tamistone2632
      @tamistone2632 4 года назад +4

      Tommy, I don’t know how you were raised, but since at least the 20th century let alone the 21st century people have inside plumbing WITH doors and walls. I know this might come as a great shock to you but a lot of these Sprinter Vans have bathrooms, cooking, and sleeping areas. It won’t behoove you to do a simple RUclips or Google search to confirm this.
      More importantly though, is why you would be so easily triggered by a strangers comment? It was a dry humorous comment that apparently went over your head. Everyone else that responded, save yourself seemed to get it. You do know there’s a correlation between intelligence and the ability to comprehend all forms of humour don’t you......?

    • @Burroboio
      @Burroboio 4 года назад +8

      @@tamistone2632 Ha! Tami you can stop projecting now, your inferiority complex is fully justified. I wish I could agree with you here but then we would both be wrong. Not all van conversions have to tick off your subjective list of amenities to serve a purpose and be functional for different peoples' needs.

      My dad was a trucker and was disturbed several times asleep by people in his trailer or around his cab, he was really shaken up by a gang with metal bars who smashed in his lorry cab.
      Really my dad should have just driven off when noticing thieves in his trailer but he decided to go forward and reverse a few times, smashing up their van they were in so it wasnt drivable which was when they decided to jump up and try to get at my poor dad who five minutes before had been in his pyjamas fast asleep on his bunk. He had some cuts which we think were from the big door mirror getting smashed but it was his nerves more than anything , it terrified him.

    • @musicandbooklover-p2o
      @musicandbooklover-p2o 3 года назад

      @@GenaF hijacking a lorry load is an old, though not honourable, way of making a living for many on the shady side of life. Hence the whisper in the pub on a Saturday "do you want a cheap car radio", said car radio having accidentally "fallen" off the back of a lorry a couple of nights before. Cigarettes were another popular item as can be seen from the number of lorry hijackings featured in the various police shows of yesteryear - Professionals, Sweeney, and so on. Must be frightening but you don't really hear of camping vans or similar being attacked in the same way in the UK. Some parts of Europe can, I believe, be hazardous but it depends on the country. However it certainly isn't something I would worry about, not enough to leave an entire wall of the van unused, and thus wasted. If you are really nervous then leave a hatch over the top of the counter, something I have seen done in one van, so that you can scramble over the bench and into the front if necessary but most parts of the world are fairly safe. The paranoia seems to mainly based across the Atlantic.

    Did I miss them mention where the toilet was stored?

    • @GenaF
      @GenaF 4 года назад +4

      Bel H a bathroom? Do you mean a WC/toilet like I mentioned or a BATHroom? A camper with room for a bath would be crazy and in any case they have a shower at the rear which is the way to go when travelling.
      A little portaloo emptied out when you come across facilities to do so is the best way. They have pleasantly scented chemicals in both the tank and the flush and certainly don't smell unpleasant. When I had 3 of my children under 4 years old and all 5 of them 7 and under, I had a Ford tourneo 9 seater minibus with a back door which opened upward in one piece (rather than barn doors); it was effectively like a canopy when opened and in the back, I kept a little camping portaloo for long journeys. Imagine all those young children ... I swear their bladders were pre programmed to twitch wherever they saw a McDonald's or Tesco and of course, prior to the portaloo we would have to stop and they'd all troop to the loo and then wanted drinks and food which took a lot of time and then 50 miles down the road they'd be squawking again for a wee. So I bought the little Thetford Portaloo cassette toilet. When they wanted a wee, we would pull off the road and lift the hatch up. With a shield around them, each could wee and then get back in their seat. No faffing around shops or macD. It could cut an hour off some journeys. It took up so little space and allowed us to take relatively hassle free road trips. We would empty it once home and it would be ready to go again.
      I so wish I had kept that van because a conversion to a weekender van would have been fantastic especially with its rear canopy door. Biggest regret ever was selling that.

    Brilliant. This is exactly how I'd love to do it, except I'd go for long wheelbase and live in it full-time! You've gone for the same colours/textures as my - 'compact' - kitchen at home. White cupboards open up the feeling of space and your wooden surfaces bring a feeling of warmth as well as bringing the 'outside inside'. Its simple, sleek, uncluttered, modern yet warm. Just perfect! Except you don't live in it Sandy - YET!

    How did they attach the cladding of the cubby hole above the cabin to the van itself? Did they glue batons to the metal and screwed the cladding onto that?

    Great van build. I liked the way the kitchen counter was against the front seats but narrow, gave such an open feel and I think the back splash tiles were so pretty. Very finished feel to the garage

    October 2020 Very beautiful home! Every Humane Society, SPCA, etc., should watch this video by Jordan Osmond of Julia and Joe's van conversion using recycled materials (which would probably end up in valuable land fill space used for garbage dumps) to work with every zip code to set aside safer over night free parking for vans like this to help save about 8 billion (the human population doubles about every forty years and about 6 million pets are put down early every year) people and their pets, which a high percent of apartments, etc., do not allow. Please don't buy from a breeder, instead buy from a rescue group (almost all breeds have a rescue group) or visit your local dump and talk to the staff who probably can show you where abandoned dogs and cats are often dumped. G'Day

    This conversion has been done with class and FINESSE. The tiles, wood work, and spice rack all add personality and flare but the functionality of every inch of space shows how much thought has been put into the design.
    I’m inspired by how well this young couple have maximised the space of this conversion.
    P.S. to the commenters obsessing over where to do your business - I’ve lived in a van without a toilet conversion for the last 5 years and always comfortably made do with my surroundings and nature. Truth be told, a nature squat is one of life’s finer pleasures. 🤠
    More power to you J&J!

    Best thing I learned was the excellent use of beautiful wood to escape the 'metal' feel of a vehicle - total success in that regard. Beautiful job.
