- Leigh Nash, famously known as the lead singer of Sixpence None The Richer, drops in to admit that she has a "panic of forgetting things." Plus, Nash admits when "Kiss Me" hit, she didn't even know the band was becoming so famous due to how much they were traveling.
Currently, Nash is performing her own songs and living in Nashville. She released several singles in the last few months, including one called "God Gave Me Horses" that was inspired by a prisoner.

Kiss me was my nieces favorite song when she was a little girl, i asked her why and she told me it was the happiest voice she had ever heard. She was right.
Her speaking voice sounds so different from her singing voice. She is so down-to-earth in person but, once she sings, she is literally the angel of music.
Her singing sounds horrible to me now. What happened?
@@factstraight She belts it here. That's why the pitch is ruined. She normally sings with heady tone.
Idk why she belts it here.
@@factstraight - - My guess is that singers sound better when they sing standing up. It's a diaphragm thing.
@factstraight This show is usually early in the morning. She's probably been up since 6am and singing by 8am.
Listen to an interview of Karen Carpenter. Same thing.
Sixpence's self-titled album is wonderful from start to finish and one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard.
They legit got screwed tho. They never did get passed their one hit.. I wish bands like that didnt get tied to one song like that
Divine Discontent rocks too.
@@Uploadedimages I liked a lot of songs of theirs, name anything from "Divine discontent" (Especially the Melody of you, A million Parachutes, Breath your name, Down and out of time....).
Sixpence had their style, and made good music, no more no less than many other good bands from then.
In my opinion, they just made too few compromises to be offered a good push after their most famous album.
@@robertpfeifer7099 The fact that it got buried for years due to label turbulence (if I recall correctly) is an absolute shame. Just a knockout beautiful album that deserved more recognition.
OMG, absolutely! The transition from "Anything" to "The Waiting Room" is just beautiful! 😍😍😍
Such an Incredible presence, such a beautiful voice, and such talent. THANK YOU, Ms. Nash, for contributing your talent to the world.
Well said!
Never forget 1999 and "She's All That" introduced me to this Angel of a Voice🌹
Met her around that time. Was a very sweet person.
There is just something about this lady that just completely melts my heart.
Ms. Nash is such a gracious lady, such a wonderful singer. If you ever have a chance to see her perform in person, do it!

Huh
@@briansilvers4934 she was married to the guy from Pray for Rain but the guy playing the guitar doesn't look like him and looks younger. She must've got divorced
That's Stephem Wilson Jr. beside her
Her new husband.
He is an amazing musician 😊
@@elizabethmccormick3331 never heard of him
She still got that distinct voice that separate her above other artists!
this song was the favourite of my late wife ,every time i hear it i see her and it brings a tear to my eye, beatiful song for a beautiful woman
Very touching words. I’m so sorry for your loss.
The song "Kiss Me" in late 1990's touched my heart with its beauty, sweetness, the film clip made me cry at times-the innocence, the lack of manipulation, the honesty. Her beauty (inner and outer) corresponds to the song. Thank You so much.
I hope she knows how loved she is ❤️
She certainly knows her songs are loved globally. I'm sure her nearest dearest tell her how much shes loved.
I’m totally in love with her voice, hadn’t heard them for 20 years since I bought their album and I feel like I’ve rediscovered them. Her voice is the sweetest most beautiful female voice I’ve heard 🥰
She seems like a sweet person. I'm a recent fan but I'm obsessed with her music. And it's so nice that she can say yeah I wrote these songs that I believe in. And it shows. And not just in her Solo work but in her time in Sixpence as well.
I've loved Leigh since the first time I heard her singing. Thank you for the music and for being such an amazingly humble human being.
Leigh is such a beautiful spirit. She Loves the song kiss me and everytime she sings it sounds like she is singing it for the first time.
Hey, Rick Beato just did a top 20 of the 90s. 2 of his top five were sixpence. and his number one too. Thanks for the music.
There she goes ..... always beautiful..forever
Always a lady of grace and elegance. Still beautiful and great singer. Love her sense of humor. The complete package.
She is so humble and down to earth!! I'm glad she was on your show, and it was such a blast from the past to get to hear her talk again!
I love that voice. I'm so glad she's still around doing her thing.
She still looks and sounds amazing.
I've never looked up interviews with her, but somehow just listening to her music, I was like, "Is she real? She's too perfect and sweet. She can't be real!" It kind of blows my mind that she is just this cool down-to-earth chick who happens to be a phenomenal singer. Such a rarity!
Kiss me was one of the songs which instantly got superglued in my mind the first time I heard it. Also love how in the music video she was seemingly awkward but strikingly beautiful at the same time.
I actually met Leigh and the boys when they played a little outside gig at the student center at UTC in the early 90s. They sang mostly faith stuff but I was stunned by their sound. There couldn't have been more than a handful of folks watching them. After they finished, I got to speak with them briefly and awkwardly compared her/them to October Project (face palm).she was very gracious and charming.
Wow..She still has it..What a beautiful voice.
Im a sixpence fan and they're on their glory days when i was born and i will keep their songs with me forever.. ❤️
Leigh! It's 2021 and I am still typing your name on Google search! I love your song : Need to be close to you. Best regards from Banjarmasin - Indonesia!
sama gaes, pasti udah gk muda lagi juga nih wkwk
Yogyakarta hadir. :)
Hhh gak berasaaa udah kepala 4 ajaah wkwkwk
I really enjoyed this guest appearance. I was in the next state flipping through local stations and came across this just as it started. Her personality is a riot. She is a sweet person.
Oh I love her since I was a teenager, I had the disc (just one of them because they were expensive for me) and still love much of their songs.
I really like the cap that guy is wearing. It's "La Virgen de Guadalupe", from Mexico.
Wow!! Leigh's voice has only gotten sweeter with time. What a beautiful lady inside and out.Amazing how fast 20 years goes by.
She’s incredible! New fan here. After this video I listened to much more of her stuff and bumped into her husbands music as well. He is also extremely talented. They are both gifted. So glad you guys had them on!
Thank you, Leigh and crew for the wonderful memories, and music.
I fell in love with her the first time I heard her sing
Sixpence None The Richer is one of my fav bands all time. I was so excited that Leigh came on the show! So good to see her! I always wonder about Matt Slocum, her former bandmate. A ridiculous talented musician that has gone off the grid! We need a Sixpence Reunion Tour!
Funny I thought I was the only one wondering about him. Once in a while I check on the web for a solo work from him but nothing so far... :(
@ It also appears he is not on any social media platform that I can find, if he is please let me know here!
@@jonmac380 I'm pretty sure that I read his name as being in, or having been in rich robinson's ( black crowes ) band.. and, I guess the crowes are happening whenever concerts come back, so maybe they are working on music. Everyone else seems to be
Leigh Nash and Matt Slocum are now members of 10,000 Maniacs. They were terrific in concert with this legendary band.
I had a crush on her when I was a kid, probably most 90s kid as well.
I did and still do. She’s not much older than me (one year). I didn’t realize she was so young when she began her career. Still an amazing voice.
Definitely. I thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world at that point in time. She still is strikingly beautiful.
She’s been my crush since my student years, almost 25 years.
Great performance and interview Leigh!
Amy and the song God Gave Me Horses just made me cry!! So beautiful!
She gave me a cd one time. Very sweet person
This is SO AWESOME to see!!! Miss Nash is such a beautiful soul, and that voice!!!
I have heard so many beautiful songs and only later did I learn it was Leigh. She is so talented that she can just shift into a totally different genre and still do the music justice and then some. Sixpence was of course where I first discovered her, but her work with Fauxliage, Conjure One and Delerium hold equally beloved places on my playlists.
I didn’t realize how much jazz and jazz vocalists has influenced her unique voice.
Her voices changed during the years, much warmer and intense. I love this beautiful woman with her music and voice very much !
She struggles to reach the higher notes, though
@@bttp011 which is normal with age.
Thanks for sharing this.. sixpencefan here
I instantly was a huge fan
Of Sixpence None the Richer when this song was released
Her version of It Came Upon a Midnight Clear gives me chills and will forever remain my fave
Much love from Brazil 🥰🇧🇷 I love her voice and my favorite songs are Don't dream it's over, there she goes, waiting on the sun, breathe and trust.
Very intelligent and gracious lady and stunningly attractive and talented too
It was love at the first saw. I hear you since my childhood and love your angelical voice so much. God bless you forever. Much love from Brazil for you.
Such a beautiful soul ❤ God bless you Leigh Nash
Such an angelic voice. It really takes you away.
Virgen of guadalupe cap is awesome, greetings from Mexico
This is one of my favorite bands of all time
She's so beautiful.
Absolutely amazing.. yes!! So glad she's still doing music
What a lovely voice and human being!
You're such an adorable person Leigh, thank you !
Great interview Leigh !!
I took music theory in college with Sean Kelly, and I can tell you straight up, he is the reason why Sixpence made it so big. I can recognize and hear his genius in the notes, especially in "Breathe My Name."
I adore Leigh Nash and her beautiful, one-of-a-kind voice! Seeing her tour with 10,000 Maniacs is going to be wonderful. It's sad that Bobby Bones treats his support staff and people who can't advance his career like garbage. Mean people still suck.
She’s so good and is just so nice
you are the sunshine of my life, really! from buenos aires
The Letterman interview was so real and beautiful. Leigh was sweet and honest, and so grateful for her dream.🥰
Such an easy, lovely song to listen to. Love it
Te amo! Amo este grupo!
Glad i got to see her in 2022.. ❤️ her.
Been a huge fan for over 20 years. Was so lucky to meet her before their show in a high school gym/auditorium. She was the sweetest thing... She hasn't changed that humble, down to earth way one bit.
Actually just looked up her net worth...🤯
Rush is my all time favorite and not one of the members is even close to her 🤯
She's so classy!
The design on Stephen's cap is beautiful. Nice to learn that she is a true believer.
I enjoyed this interview so much. And I'm Bono's age. So, older than Leigh. But I'm from Idaho and have three daughters so I understand the importance of singing Leigh Nash songs, the Chicks and the Eagles too. Just to explain, when you live in the western US, you have lots of long road trip vacations in a car and need to do singalongs. So, I've sang along with Leigh many miles. Not sure if this is how it's done east of the Mississippi.
Always loved her beautiful voice. Very souving
Amazing voice!
This will be my bed-ridden-dying-song in the future 😍
But the husband’s eyeroll when she says I love Letterman and turns to him saying she’s sorry lolz it’s so funny.
He's right to eyeroll, Letterman is a creep. No wonder he wanted an interview with her.
I love this band ❤️🥰😍
what a wonderfully soothing voice
She seem so cool so sweet
1st time I heard this song I was working in Time Warner building 50th street and 6th Ave 4th floor room 415f in the lunch room in the back room...I love this song...Great song...
Been a fan since their self titled album, and had a huge crush on her since divine discontent came out. I'm glad she's still in the music business,
Love her!! 🙏🏻❤️
Beautiful, just beautiful 💐
Dam she is such a lovely person. The world is a better place for having you grace us with your presence.
Always loved Leigh - such a cutie and oh that voice just melts you; glad to see her personality matches. SNTR has reformed but not recovered their magic yet; keep trying!
What a lovely person!
thank you young lady
Leigh nash! Her singing style got me!
a forever classic...lovely!
It was quite a revelation when I saw the Sixpence None The Richer CD in the music department of a Christian book store. I knew there was a reason I liked them so much.
She’s wonderful
Absolutely beautiful inside and out
The Brazil loves you🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
She is FEELGOOD MEMORIES personified.
Kiss me changed the world. I loved their music!
she is the most beautiful woman i ever saw and she has a beautiful voice too. when i first got to see sixpence i was in awe of her. stiil the same.
I luv this woman's voice !
Love that song, and her singing it.
All these years i thought she was British 😮 how she sings and the look of the Sixpence videos..Anyhow great to see :)
