I feel like eyecatches have kinda gone away. Seemed like every anime had them in the 90's, but when 2000 hit they kinda dwindled. Hell even OVA's had eyecatches! The one for the Oh! My Goddess! OVA is like tattoo'd in my brain, the little slot machine with the goddess's faces! So cute!
I'm surprised like even long running BIG THREE shows like Boruto's Dad and Bleach didn't have eyecatches though. Especially Bleach they could have had so much drip and uniqueness. Though the new Bleach kinda has eyecatches I guess.
