i have a 92 S10 Blazer Tahoe, paid 300 bucks for it and so far its been a fun little truck to putter around in (aside from some rattles), and its not like parts are scarce for it either.
@@mr.goodpliers6988 BTW, my dad was born in McPherson County in the town of Inman. When I was a little kid about 55 years ago, we lived in the little town of Windom. And we used to attend Grace Bible Church in McPherson.
I've got a 1984, 2DR, Blazer, 4X4, 2.8L/Auto with 44,000 Original Miles on it, I've been rebuilding it from the ground up for the past 2 - 2.5 years now, I took the body off it and bought a new frame bc the old one was bent, So I took the new frame and started rebuilding it and cleaning it up and I put POR 15 on the whole frame, But the whole time I was building the new Frame I tried to find a good 4X4, 4.3/5 Speed Donor S10 or Blazer, Well I never could find one and it killed me to have to put that 2.8L/Auto back in it, Well fast forward like a year now and I've found 2 4x4, 4.3L/5 Speed Trucks, One that is a 1993 Ext Cab, 4X4, 4.3/5 Speed S10 and One that is a 1991 Single Cab, 4X4, 4.3/5 Speed S10, The 93 has an Original 91,000 Miles on it and the 91 I'm not sure about, It says 300,000 on the Dash, But I just don't know.... I had bought the 91 first and I was going to use it, But then I found the 93 and had the cash to buy it too, So I bought it lol, But once I get the Engine swap done on my 1995 S10 Truck done, then I'm going to be tearing the Blazer back apart and doing a 4.3/5 Speed on my Blazer.... I have a 87 S10 2 dr 2wd, with a 350/4 barrel 3800 stall and a 350 trans it still has an open rear end that I would like to change but it is a fun ride.
The number one major issue with the early 2.8's is they were externally balanced most sounded like bowling balls in a cement mixer before 60k miles early 90's a friend bought a totaled 91 s-10 with a 2.5 iron duke 5spd he swapped the drive train and rear and main harness into an 87 2wd blazer the blazer was flawless not a single dent on it garage kept
I have a 86 GMC S-15 JIMMY. I drive everyday. They are very dependable. I love these little trucks.

I like the 2.8. Was smooth as anything new. I had the 4x4 s15 blazer version, and it was slow, but if you took it off road it performed well.
I worked for a Chevy dealership in 1988 and sold both the 88 and 89 year models. Loved that 4.3 V6.
Awesome! When I spent time at the junkyard I remember seeing them regularly with over 400k miles... Great motors

Crazy story about the theft recovery truck... driving around with chopped exhaust was real incognito 😂
Wow, what are the odds of two nearly identical trucks??
