This is the electric Mercedes I want. The bubble shape weird EQS isn’t something I’d want to live with for 20-40 years.

It will rust away before that.

    • @markm0000
      @markm0000 2 года назад +9

@@repapeti98 I will be spraying oil based undercoating yearly into every crevice that water can get in and wash the car frequently. Also fill up all electrical connections with dielectric grease. Then condition all rubber pieces like door seals, window trim, suspension boots, brake calipers, driveline components, and dampeners. Lastly grease anything that spins or rubs together like bearings and hinges. I guarantee this car won’t rust or wear out major components for at least 30 years. The battery will need to be serviced and individual cells replaced every decade or so-similar to smartphones. Tesla owners are feeling the pain of not having good aftermarket support. Mercedes has always supported third party repair and given parts and tools to small shops so they can keep cars running. This EQXX looks good and is leagues better than owning a combustion car. I plan on buying one someday.

In Imotski, Mercedes limousines have a nickname- “Mečka” (mechka) and that nickname doesnt just stand for the car but for the testament of awe and respect, it is a way of life. BTW, I think that "punch in a nose" front is necessary and also good looking. If you stretched it out like this you would probably lose a lot of energy in turns, especially 90° ones as this long front you sketched looks almost dangerous to drive. Also, to me those curves above front tires look almost like thigh musculature of a big cat. Think of tiger or a panther, it makes the car look more like it came out of this planet. Your stretched front makes it look like a beak.

While I am more than happy to see another EV that can have range up to 1,000 km per charge, NIO's ET7 with the ultra range of 1,000 km per charge will be out at end of 2022. Even the smaller ET5 will have the range of 1,000 km per charge. Unless Benz is having at least 5% longer than 1,000 km, that is not even a breakthrough. To cheer for this new Benz with 1,000 km per charge also means a bigger celebration for NIO's first two EVs with 1,000 km per charge at much lower prices, but with more interior room. So, while I am very happy to see Benz can also do it, I wish Benz to do it without the sacrifice of interior room and price for the mass. Else, it is a niche product.
Also, no matter how fast the existing charging technology allows one to charge his/her EV's battery, you can't be any faster than the speed of battery swap. NIO's battery swap stations let you have 100% fully charged batteries in 3.5 minutes. Can the fast charging technology of this Benz match it ? Nowhere close.
At least, Benz can claim that its range can beat the Tesla's range. Hopefully, it won't be over $300,000 USD while it only costs about $100,000 for the NIO's ET7 top trim with the same 1,000 km per charge range.

….aaaand it now no longer has a sub .20 drag coefficient 😆 I guarantee that the blunt shape of the nose is for aero reasons. A “tear drop” will almost always be the most efficient shape for an object moving through a fluid. The redesign looks much much better, however.
One note about the air outlet located behind the front wheels, this device is used to evacuate air pressure from behind the wheels/inside the wheel wells to reduce drag. Yes it was “drawn with a pen” but its purpose is clear.

Nice, this is as gorgeous as the other electric thing they are selling currently selling looks like a Ford Torus of the 80s.

I have on thing to say: it looks more like a Kia than a Mercedes. Poor job Mercedes...

Funny because most of the Hyundai and KIA stuff is designed by german engineers xD

Bruh, both front and rear screams kia EV6.

It's a stunning car, but the rear end is almost an exact copy of the polestar precept concept, down to the sticky outy lightbar and the liftback shape.

The EQXX looks like Kia and Volkswagen mixed together. I think they designed the model like this because of aero dynamic.

Why tf is this design so similar to the Kia EV6 bruh

This video bugged me because he’s criticising the looks of the design of a car that was purely built to be efficient. Every single curve on that car was meticulously thought out to create as low a drag coefficient as possible. Sharp edges/lines create drag even if they look good. This isn’t a production car it was a design and development project.

WAY nicer to the eye than the EQE or EQS

Show me a normal sized human getting in the back seat of that thing and it will explain why the EQS looks the way it does.

I'll admit, I thought this was Kia's version of the Hyundai Prophecy just from ther pic. The only MB design I definitely see is the greenhouse. But overall a great design if not necessarily MB.

The comparison between EQXX and EQS doesn’t make sense as those images were shot in different focal length. EQXX was shot with a wider angle lens. Also wider angle creates a distortion so your liquify work doesn’t make sense either. It’ll look different in real life.

Wowza, first impression immediately read Audi to me. Even has the subtle vent behind the front wheels like the VW group platform for both the Taycan and the Audi ETron GT ^^'
Definitely miles more interesting then their super simplified cars at least. :o

I like this but I agree, they should make ed an AMG version. Lucid's range is 520 miles with more power. So I think they could find a way to put more power in this and keep the range pretty high with this design.

no even cables are smol to be light and stuff. Batterie is light and needs no active cooling and so on. This review is good but lacks about the interior design and special made parts like battery and so on.

I like the lines the of the EQXX concept but I felt that if they went with a more old school design it would have flowed better imo
