You can hear quite a bit of Rotting Christ and Masters Hammer in GBK. Along with the other heavy metal/thrash influences. The rejection of the Norwegian black metal sound, the atypical Darkthrone clone sound is what GBK was completely against. That is where you get that attitude to match the riffs. I prefer the albums with Cazz, his drumming had a lot of personality and grit, but they never have made a bad album. There are some hateful moments on Kohanic, that brings back the old sound and reminds me why this band is so good and so spiteful.
I basically agree with you expect I would swap 1 and 2. Kohanic Charmers is nothing short of amazing. Definitely worth the wait. Speaking of worth the wait the new Arghoslent album just came out. (same guitar player/song writer as GBK) and it fucking rules. Probably my favorite album of the year. The riffs, my god the riffs.
As you said all their stuff is great, my favorite changes every time I listen. And yeah sure more "hot takes" videos, I agree GBK has better albums than Immortal! Though I love Immortal too. Also that dance edit had me and my wife laughing, caught us off guard. 😆
Underrated band. They are doing live shows now. Hopefully they play in Europe when I visit. Good bands rarely visit my country. I need to see these guys live.

On a Mule Rides the Swindler
