Wonder's power to see the Bad Ending is rather interesting aspect of his abilities. He can see what happens if he failed to complete the task so he has more motivation to complete it. This also provides a different way to present the Bad endings in this game since players cannot intentionally or accidently get the bad ending compared to a console Persona game.
Wonder if it's something like Rindo in NEO The World Ends With You where he is actually sending his memory back from that bad future to the past (albeit here it's only partial and subconsciously). So whenever Wonder hits a bad end (becuase unlike P5 he's not retroactively recalling the game's events to someone. Also ditto being a live service RPG), he subconsciously throws some memories back in time to his past self, the introduction of such shifting the timeline?
That bad future scene where he snaps after being ruined and attempts kill the one who helped to do it, is scarily similar, major Persona 5 Tactica Spoliers, to when that one Music teacher gets exposed publicly for his extortion & corruption, has a meltdown and pushes Eri onto the subway tracks with the upcoming train. Though in a way this is almost worse.
"Could it be... something like this has happened?" "In order to avoid a bad future, they go through something over and over again." Closer's definitely onto something. Is it possible we're in a timeloop? That would also fit with the Metaverse icon.
Don't forget cross fate event bosses names are based on the poisons of Buddhism. In Buddhism, the most prominent concept is samsara, which is a cyclic loop of repeating events/narratives. So far Wonder's Phantom Thief crew methods of changing hearts is akin to rebirth, while fighting the targets' shadows to steal their treasures, they are cleansing their distorted desires and giving them a chance to start over. At least their methods are more tame compared to Ren's crew in the mainlines.
Are you thinking that Wonder might be able to subconsciously turn back the clock in the event that there's a "deadline" ending, sending those memories back to a previous "state" to prevent said ending from happening? I'm thinking of it like Rindo's Replay in NEO The World Ends With You. He sends his present consciousness back in time to fix things and create a new timeline.
Interesting to see that Wonder has a good intuition. I do tend to like characters like Shulk, Dynasty Warriors' Li Dian, or Absol, who deal with predictions of the future.
I still have a question, is Wonder in some way Tatsuya? Not only the looks, both have some kind of time thing, tatsuya with those timeline problems and Wonder seeing the worst future or remembering a future he experienced before coming back to the time before it happened
@ryanchristy319 by that i guess it would be from the Tatsuya of the new timeline in EP, where he just had the potential to have a Persona but never gained the ability
nope. In fact, all versions of P5X got patched to include yellow eyes in awakenings and for various shadow characters. However Merope still has grey eyes
@@nickgreene9456yes they’ve mentioned that the choice to make her eyes non-yellow are deliberate. There’s also another character in this game that’s a woman shadow with yellow eyes in mementos so it’s likely there’s a story reason for it that’ll be learned later in the game
@@phantomsharpae5977 It's just a vision of a possible future. Not that it actually happened. Wonder has had these visions in every arc (this is the third arc / chapter currently) and there's a theory that he's in a timeloop.
@KakezTheIcy I hear what you're saying, but I think some of the Phantom Idols could use better codenames. (Kotone, Yukimi, Tomoko, Kiyoshi, and Yui in particular)
I don't think they will. Especially since their code names are based on what they aspire to be, their Persona abilities, and lore tied to them. Heck, Motoah, Shun, and Riko even explained why they chose their code names.

Wonder having a zero escape moment seeing endings from different timelines

Just when I think Akashi couldn't get any worse, Wonder has to see THAT...
I really hope this gets an American localization or at very least release
It's already confirmed to have an English release at some point so yeah

@@oranim12 maybe! Either way this situation is interesting and Igor also says that Wonder has to keep thinking about it.

Nothing says she isn't. We're only 1/3rd throughout the main story, and as long as the game makes money, there will be more
