@@die-brot-frau lol it's a joke
This is the first video I have seen by you Mort, I would love to see more of these game dev videos. It's amazing to see you work with such ease. Keep up the great work!
Same
Now if only we had GBA Studio
And GBC one too
@@leeperhapsbased.9057 I think their is compatibility with color pallets for working with the gbc, but don't take my word for it, just check out the settings, I think I saw it there
Soon hopefully
TheHaiGuy321 they’re still working on bugs, glitches and additional features
It would be amazing if there was one
Well, time to use this.
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does any of you know a way to log back into an instagram account..?
I was dumb lost my password. I would love any tips you can give me.
@Boston Archie Instablaster ;)
@Pedro Julius Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
bruh
Bruh wtf are these bots
Love it! I really appreciate setting limits on what you can do. Unlimitlesd possiblities often makes something overwhelming and you end up going nowhere. Great video, I'm giving this a go!
really cool idea, cannot wait to try it. Just started getting into making my own pixel art and your videos have been really helpful and now this woot woot
Very nice tutorial. And your graphics look so good! People would have been so excited for a GB game that looked this good. It gives them all a run for their money
Hoping to see more tuts on this, considering making a GBA game just because of this tutorial. Thanks for starting this tutorial series. You're the greatest!
Reminds me of the GameBoy sprite tutorial you made; it's always a good idea to start off with limits as it will increase the desire to make things count.
i used to follow you on deviantart a long time ago and finding that you had a youtube channel after so long made me so happy! your videos are great and you deliver information really well, keep up the great work~
Ok I know what I'm doing this summer now 👀 thanks a lot for the video !
Wow, excellent explainer. I feel like you covered all the bases needed to get rolling. Thanks!
I just downloaded this earlier today and It's really cool to see.
I was disappointed by the lack of colors and then I realized: "oh, this is OG GameBoy!"
Great video Mort, Green UP!
This is perfect video for people who want to start developing games! I am working with unity and all the basics exists here! Scenes , collision etc. Sure they are more complicated in unity, but the logic is more or less the same!
Thank you Mort! This seems amazing, I had a really hard moment using Unity so I'll try this and then try Unity again
this is awesome! never made a game but this will help so much! cant wait to start , thank you for the video!
It's incredible how easy it is to make the games, i never thought it could be this easy!
you mean "how easy from now on"
So cute and awesome to see these! Thank you for the walkthrough guide
I'm 1 minute in and this video already has me super excited to go home and tinker with this stuff.
First Video that i see for this Channel, Thanks for show this Program
Awesome tutorial! I've downloaded GB Studio but had no idea what I was looking at.
awesome, thanks for this. making a real gb game is on my bucket list.
Please please! Make a tutorial on pokemon battles, or some sort of exp battling system! ♥
@PIZZA sorry? ^^"
lol, making a battle system and a system like pokemon its a very difficult thing to do, it would take at least 8 episodes and from a good programmer, mort isnt a programmer, mmm if you want to learn more about it, i recommend to watch tutorials of unity or rpgmaker for this kind of things, and watch some tutorial online i can tell bc im a gamedev, :p well good luck :)
Seems like something to get into. I hope there will be more to this program in the future. I think I may try this out, and maybe even put the rom on my LDK to see how that works out.
Great video!! I'm definitely going to give this a shot :3
How did I find ur videos just now! I had to try to learn C to make my own gb games! This makes my life alot easier! Thank you for the video! Just subscribed
The idea is great, I just watched a bunch of video tutorials but the sample project alone after being built into a rom is 1MB, that's a lot of space for a GB game.
Great video, thanks Mort!
Thank you so much for letting me know about this!!
that's so awesome as a game engine ! can't wait until you add support for colors and some conditions for interactions like have different actions based on conditions.
I just saw this on itch.io and i thought about searching for a tutorial and then there you are, in my recommendations.. Thanks Mort! keep up the amazing content!
Mort's going to make a fully functional Gameboy game in under a day lol
* he made
first of your vids I saw. Subscribed.
Thanks for the tutorial!!
Oh my goodness I downloaded GB Studio yesterday and boom you make a video about it! 😂
thanks for the video ! bro best tutorial ever
This is awsome i hope we could do gbcolor games later in future too
Very great video!
Could you please make a tutorial series on this software?
Utterly superb video, take care!
This is super fucking cool!!! I'm gonna definitely play around with this program, great video!!!
stupid idiot
@@FaithfulGeneral What?
@@FaithfulGeneral what's stupid
@@devonoknabo2582 just fucking code it yourself why the fuck do you use software which requires 0 knowledge and the output is crap
Hebron Studio just because you have an opinion that they don't doesn't make them stupid idiots. if anything, YOU'RE the stupid idiot.
Thanks! You made my day.
so fun, looking forward to playing on an everdrive but i suck at making sprites
Someone could quite literally make a demake of a popular game outta this, cool!
No way MortMort is back on RUclips! Yush!
this is BEAUTIFUL
another good maker with limits is pico 8, it works with Lua and it has ton of limits for example 8-bit colors, 8x8 sprites and limited amount of code.
Okay this seems really cool I think I might make a few games
I've been wanting to make gb games for a while now, thanks! I kinda wish i can use your animal crossing assets to practice with tho.
This is really cool, but a little too limited in the kind of game you can make...
Here's hoping it gets more development so that more kinds of games can be made, as well as adding a tilemap editor, support for larger maps, for the GBC (in case you want to make a colour game), for animated tiles, palette-swapping, and maybe this is asking too much but I'd also love to see some scanline interupts going on, if all of that is achieved I'll be *all over* this software!
Nice to do in lockdown
Great Video, thanks
Hi, mortmort great video as always
aweasome, i need it for GBA that was perfect
this is awesome!
Kinda reminds me of Game Maker Studio. I might check it out.
Cant wait for MortBoy Advance!
This program looks quick, simple, and intuitive, and the video explained it really well.
I just wonder how good it is at making a game like Tetris? It looks really well suited for RPGs and stuff, but what about other styles?
There's a GBColor beta now, with platformer and graphic adventure modes. Maybe you can make a tetris from that
I really love this program. It's super easy and fun to play around with. Is there anyway I can use those animal crossing sprites or tilesets? I really like the style of it.
Thank you great video and very informative would love to see you work out more games in this space shooters, contra type games Mario clones, mother clone 😎

@@manuellopes1269 Interesting for now i"m working with desktop to create these experiences thanks!
@@OscarTorresWork ok bro , for free use 2d great aoo gdevelop, for 3d coopercube or godot
A new summer project!
Awesome video 👍 Thanks 😊
A second video on GB Studio with a more in depth tutorial, would rock. 🎸
Looks like a cool and easy to use program. Looks quite similar to, but even easier than RPG Maker, actually, assuming you understand the limitations (which can really be a blessing sometimes for having to keep stuff simple).
Some of the limitations do seem quite strange though. Two frames of animation per sprite direction?
The Pokémon games worked on the original Gameboy all the way up until Crystal, which was the first Gameboy Color exclusive Pokémon game...but I'm pretty sure the original Pokémon Red, Blue, (+Green in Japan), Yellow, Gold and Silver all had more than two frames of animation for each of their overworld character sprites.

@@manuellopes1269 wth I'm really thinking you're a bot
Year 2050 on my googleglass recommend: Make a real Nintendo Switch game easy & user friendly [Tutorial, Gamedev]
Lars Hanselmann lol
You can make bigger games the same way a ps1 does. By making 2 games, and using the save file to carry over data. Many things are possible with this in hand. Graphically speaking, yeah you couldnt fit much, but many games can still be demakes of newer games in 2d. With nothing cut out if you use multiple roms.
Something like this also needs to be available for NES and SNES games!
You are the best one!!!
Right now I am developing my own game of game boy with this program, the problem is the type of game I want to program, I hope to find a solution little by little.

@@manuellopes1269 oml why
@@manuellopes1269 lol making games on phone 😂😂😂
@@l.graphics7605 why not?
@@manuellopes1269 it's shit and you're way too limited
This is awesome
Awesomeness!! It has a Linux version too :D
Thank you!
It's stunning how GBStudio had changed in just one year. Apparently you can now do GBC games in it, not to mention that it now supports platformer and shmup gameplay.
i randomly subbed to you
@@qrr4y Thank you!
Excellent video
Talvez se pueda crear una base para un juego de gb y de ahi puedas agregar y quitar scripts para probar otra clase de juegos, quiza un poco rebuscado, pero es una buena aplicacion para aprender las bases de programar en gameboy
Now I want this for GBA!
Спасибо, попробую сделать игру
nice video! Could you make a video diving into the code part of gbstudio? I Know nothing but a little HTML and PHP and I want to make my platformer move around kinda like megaman, but I have no idea what I'm doing...
Very, very cool!
can you crate a video where you explain how to do menu's and how to output text and numbers to a on screen ui (top right corner (Score: 100)). that would help a lot
Read the docs, my friend. They're very helpful!
You Just Got A New Sub!
this is an amazing program
Agreed.
Thanks youre tutorial please send more tutorial
Challenge accepted I need to try this
Nice Video! so is there one for GBA?
I actually started watching your videos after messing with gbstudio cause my sprites sucked
Finally, I can make Postal 1 on the GameBoy!
I now have made the most legendary game on the face of this planet.
NikoSylveon lmao what did u make
Are you limited to 8x8 player sprites? or can you do 8x16 too, for when you need your sprites a bit taller or wider?
Nice. Is there an app which helps you produce GB sprites and graphics?
I want this now.
This is a great tutorial! Never thought I would say that on RUclips, but. . . I guess I just did!
I wish there was a program like this but without the limitations
I listen to you so I can fall asleep
Fantastic.
I wonder if using the same tiles over and over as well as adding more things to the project can be much more bigger than as presented.
Please Mort, make an part 2 explaining GB Studios 2.0.0 !
hopfully gb studios will gain a map editor
Mother 1 on GB here I come!
Thanks Mort! Are you Danish by any chance? ;)
I was also wondering if you knew any way to port a game to be playable as a native iOS application (ie. downloadable on the app store), possibly even with a 1:2 ration instead of 1:1 (GB)?
Oh, I thought this was a tutorial on Game Boy assembly programming. :D
"Easy and user friendly" lol
