The thing about his vocals on this record that is interesting, is that he recorded while fighting a cold. So I honestly think that became the blessing in disguise that made his vocals feel so much more powerful.
I am a firm believer in 'hearing the struggle' in vocals. A great singer with a cold can easily elevate the vocal performance to better match the pain and sadness in the lyrics.

I was born in 88 so I'm kinda in between you guys lol Mineral, Thursday, At the Drive in, Bright eyes and Cursive are one my favorites and I'll probably listen to them forever, just as metal dudes keep doing all their lives but for me is emo/ post hardcore

Anyone else remember playing the old emo game, it was like 16bit and you had to answer trivia about songs/bands. Was like late 90s early 2000s if I remember. Gotta try to find it. Pissed a lot of people off too. Haha. Which is easy to do to emo kids.

Lots of folks don't know jon stewart had a show before he was on The Daily Show. It's cool to see him championing these not so popular acts back then.
