I think it is just as good as the original! I totally agree that Nate was definitely the weakest link on the old show and I LOVE Harry so so much. It's still such a silly, fun show about taking down the rich and my absolute favorite.
Totally agree about the "on the nose" for some of their villains and episode morals. Some were a little too cartoonish and the morals too patronizing or spoon fed. Specifically the Nazi Elon Musk ep. It made me furious because I enjoyed everything on the train but damn they could not stop calling it a hate crime and I'm like, writers, people would not talk like that. Queer people do not talk like that. If they want to write for the diversity of their audience, then they need to bring diversity to the writers' room. It also seemed that 3/4 of their intro actors (i.e. the clients) were especially bad actors, which I get because they're only in it for a few minutes BUT they also open the episode and unfortunately pulled the viewer out of the episode from the very beginning. Don't get me wrong, I really like the show and am impressed that they've been able to continue/reboot the series. Parker as a southern belle killed me! Actually, both Parker and Brianna were my favorites and always added great energy to the scenes they were in. I'm enjoying season 2 as it is released episodically (old school) and hope they just continue to improve their storytelling.
I loved Leverage Redemption seasons 1 and 2. If I can change one thing though is the villains speech - you know the portion of every episode where the villain justifies their evil ways. This s a veiled commentary on the wrongs of the world. The speeches are a little weak. We hear "the little guys don't matter". We need stronger villains making better commentaries on what's wrong with the world. It makes the takedown a lot more carthatic.
I dont think its better. But it is still good. I may be a bit biased though just because of what happend to Timothy hutton and cant stand new things but its honestly not bad. I agree that once Nate started drinking again his character went downhill a bit. I do love how since hardison was gone they had eliot still get texts and fight with him over messages and through breanna his sister. Im not the fondest of harry as i still dont understand what his job even is, but hes alright

Parker saying "personal bodily function" in a southern accent gave me life
Nate was def NOT the worst character on the show. He was the mastermind & his “replacement” falls completely flat.

Great review!
I love it, love it, love it.
Nate was the one who made the plans and got them together. He is a great character. Leaving him out is dumb.
This stuff is awesome
Thank you so much!
Better than the original? Absolutely not.
How much did you watch of the original? Not much. Nate started drinking again in season 2.
I agree
Hell naw it ain't better than the original
The actor tim hutton is innocent.
It's better because Timothy Hutton is gone, but the only reason to watch it is because Elliot and Parker, everyone else is still crap.
