Yeah it’s a cool little tool. I need to post a follow up video as I have had it for over a year now and used it on many projects. My skills in using it have improved as well. As far as the chain goes, it is a standard Oregon chain, just small, so it could be replaced by someone who knows their way around pinning chain but they do have replacements on the KA website. The teeth can be sharpened like normal chain. I find myself using the burr discs and sanding pads the most. If I need to dig out a bunch of wood for a project I usually start with my angle grinder then follow up with this for detail.
Hey man, thanks for the feedback, but you are somewhat splitting hairs with your harsh accusation and your example. The Merlin 2 IS the smallest tool that uses an ACTUAL chainsaw chain. The Bosch uses a proprietary micro blade and while the way it runs is similar to a chainsaw, it itself cannot be deemed a true chainsaw. The Merlin 2 is also BRANDED as the World's Smallest Chainsaw and therefore removes me from being called a liar. In some ways, your comment is like calling me a lair for reviewing the "world's smallest car" and then saying "have you ever heard of Hot Wheels?" Well, Hot wheels aren't real cars.....so.... My video was only to show you this tool, not to fling insults.

Its a wheel with teeth, the fact that bits of chain are on the wheel have little to do with function and are probably just so the manufacturer can cheaply source teeth. As for the bosch not sure why the fact the chain is proprietary or micro should disqualify it as a chainsaw? It is a toy thats for sure.
Love Merlin 2 but mine suddenly died. Are their problems with the cord ? Can a replacement cord be purchased?
