Drinker should have told Ben, “That’s all I’ve got for today. Go away now.”
💯
💯
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Goawww awaayyy noaaaww
The Critical Drinker is, at this point, the only film reviewer I trust.
Movie Cynic and Filmento also have some pretty good chops, but Critical Drinker is my favorite.
Facts theres a few others too, Chris gore n company. filmento and the Cynic.
Jeremy jahns is still pretty good and a fair bit more family friendly... But yeah.
@@LeviathanVIII Yeah thats who i meant forgot his full name. and they short and to the point.
I listen to Dave Cullen as well, but that's it.
The team we never knew we needed
Go Away Now! ;)
BELIEVE THAT
The far right always find each other!
@@colors6692 stop liking you’re own comment. Nobody is far right here
@@elcid9054 Honestly the term "far right" has been thrown around so much over time that it has lost all meaning, just like "racist" or "fascist." Let's just press forward and do what we know to be correct, and not let these meaningless labels dissuade us for even a second.
Love Ben and Critical Drinker getting together
❤❤
It is a parring we didn't know we needed.
Yeah they really seem to have hit it off.
I’m hoping that he will be helping the Daily Wire improve on their films. On his first movie, he said it was good overall but could use improvement.
The urgently unimportant alcoholic
Keep them collaborations coming Ben and drinker
Tenet was super smart and relatively well executed. I guess I'm one of the free who appreciated it.
@@PLK-bw5uc yes let's get Ben Shapiro on EFAP lol
I love the rapport between Drinker and Ben. You've got to do more things together in the future.
I thought they looked uncomfortable. Maybe it's the way they're sitting. I'd like to see them in a more comfortable setting.
Also the Critical Drinker, I believe, works out of Scotland so doing this in person and face to face is impractical and, to be honest, the split screen, side by side Vlog style is becoming tiresome. It's refreshing to see two people talk to one another on person like this again.
@@ScottCleve33Ben Shapiro is naturally uncomfortable. Who wouldn't be thiugh after selling their soul . Ben Shapiro is trash now.
Therapist: Critical Drinker without sunglasses isn't real, he can't hurt you.
Ben Shapiro:
My husband said, "that guy sounds like Drinker." And I was like, "it IS Drinker." And he did a double take. 😂
He's strangely quite handsome.
@@bluerobin7051You should watch some of his early videos. Many men ripen like wine, while women ripen like fish. It's not fair, but I didn't make the rules.
@@YourLocalCopiumDealervery true
@@YourLocalCopiumDealer
It is fair: Women dominate the youth while men dominate the old age. Both look okay in middle age.
It's perfectly balanced.
It's the ultimate paradox that the technology needed to make a movie is cheaper than ever before, with professional-grade video cameras and all the editing, audio-development, and post-processing software needed to produce a movie available on the general consumer market, and yet the biggest studios feel fine just splurging absurd quantities of money at films that could be produced for a quarter of the budgets they are throwing at them.
The problem with current technology for movie making is that is simply is not as good looking as 35mm. Digital cameras and digital screens are ok for home but not for a Theater.
@@Art-is-craft Gotta get rid of the woke filters too (aka The Netflix Effect) - that makes everything look like you're wearing sunglasses.
I personally though prefer more practical effects than CGI. Also what about A.I? Is Hollywood ever going to use that? Is that Daily Wire going to ever do that and screw over their actors and writers? I mean, that would be stupid: imagine paying five bucks for a movie ticket for a movie that costed less than that to make. Also what are these higher ups in these companies going to use all their money for now that they use A.I instead of real human actors and writers and production team? Spend it on even more A.I generated art and music and film?
You're distracted Ben, the Lord has been calling for you. He's asking you to come into his kingdom, son. Please answer his call.
I think it might be the reason it is that bad now I guess because you don't need talented people anymore only business people
these should be waaaaaay longer, the drinker has so much to say about the movie situation we find ourselves in. hopefully you have him on for longer discussions.
it is one session chopped up. each part will be just long enough to justify the add break. maybe they had an interaction unwieldy enough to justify 2^^. we will see
You should check out CD's other channel, Critical Drinker After Hours. He has hours-long discussions with several guests. He's had a few guests you might not expect because they're not known for film reviews: Nick Rekieta and recently Shadiversity, for example.
@@rickh9396 I'm subbed, I love the content, that's why I suggested it.
One of my favorite movies was Nobody in 2021. It had a budget of about 21 million but it was exciting as could be and I wish they'd do a sequel.
Godzilla Minus One is the best movie of the year IMHO
Yes! Way underrated movie, who knew Bob Odenkirk could kick ass like that? It had a great blend of humor and action though, a lot of action comedies try too hard to be funny, it seems forced. But the humor in Nobody just kinda came naturally.
@@theywouldnthavetocensormei9231 Grateful to see there's someone else in the world who thinks that most comedies try too hard and fall flat. I'd rather watch a good movie that has some funny moments. My favorite example is Lethal Weapon 2. Both the toilet bomb scene and Leo Getz were well executed, adding just enough comedic relief to complement the action and police drama.
Nobody is honestly my favorite movie to come out in all of the 2020s. Such an entertaining and memorable movie.
I watched, "Twelve Angry Men", again last night. I don't think it cost 200 million to produce, but I kinda liked it. "My Man Godfrey", "My Girl Friday", "To Kill a Mocking Bird", "Of Mice and Men", "The Grapes of Wrath", the 1956 "Moby Dick", the 1939 "Stagecoach", "High Noon", "The Last Picture Show", "Some Like it Hot", "The Oxbow Indecent", "Top Hat" and "It's a Wonderful Life" are examples of the kinds of movies that could still be made without spending a lot of money and still make a profit.
I think if you start with a good script that tells and interesting story, you are off to a good start.
It seems today they never 'start' with and ending and work their way to it cleverly - instead they jump in with both feet - no plan except a direction and say 'Action'!
@@ravenstone366 "Primer" from 2004 was an excellent movie, cost the guy apparently $7000 to make. No FX, no stars, it just relied on a really good plot, and convincing dialogue.
Godzilla minus one is the perfect example of spending efficiently and writing a beautiful story.
I believe that due to Hollywood’s widely exposed disgusting ‘secrets’ as well as actor’s political stances, a significant number of movie patrons have found other means of entertainment.
So you’re mad at Hollywood because of their disgusting secrets, but you still support Republican politicians?
Sure bud
I know i have.
The fact that Barbie is gonna win more awards than Oppenheimer shows where our society is at.
The should all lose to 'The Holdovers', though.
You need to watch more movies if Oppenheimer and Barbie is all you can talk about.
Oppenheimer isn't the best
@@mwangi10I mentioned those 2 because they are the ones up for the most awards. What movies are you talking about?
Yeah, Oppenheimer is a serious film about serious things and Barbie is a comedy.
That means Oppenheimer is automatically more important and worthy and anyone who likes Barbie better is bad and wrong and ruining society.
Seriously, it’s just a movie. Relax
Golden Globes doesn't agree.

Bring Critical Drinker to Daily Wire full time.
They’ve got a sports show, give us an entertainment show.
Interesting because Knowles is a Yale trained actor, and Klavan was a writer on the wire.
Maybe throw them onto Open Bar?
Let’s keep our fingers crossed
The Drinker is a global treasure. BELIEVE THAT!
As a fellow Scot, twice removed and now happily ensconced in Australia, I still love to hear the Scottish accent especially when it belongs to such a down to earth, reasoned thinker. That paired with one of my favorite US podcasters/personalities is a joy to behold! This is an accurate take on what is happening in the film world today.
Yeah these are series of videos I never knew we needed. Please keep these coming.
I always hoped that this collab would happen, I’m glad they’re keeping it up, and I hope it stays that way.
I’ve been a fan of the drinker for a while now, mainly because he gives honest input, is honest about any biases he may have. I’ve come to trust his critiques. He recommended “Sisu”, so I checked it out and really enjoyed it. It was simply entertaining, with subdued dialogue, a great concept with good action. Think Rambo First Blood meets Commando meets the Equalizer.
Just a friendly reminder that Ben's wife is a doctor
You don't say?
I kind of wish they had the Drinker do his "Go away now" catchphrase at the end.
I'm surprised and amazed at Ben and the Drinker, but love it. Two articulate well reasoned people talking on the internet....such a rarity.

The matador of metaphors and Shapiro…awesome team up!
Absolutely love the Drinker by himself but enjoying the collaboration with Ben. Because of the Drinker I watched The Menu and shared it with friends and we all thought.. WOW. To bad there aren’t more movies like this
What a great film. Made me want a cheeseburger and s'mores!
this is such a great idea, these two really work well together.

TEN3T was brilliant. You just have to watch it backwards, hanging upside down, out of the corner of your eye to fully grasp all of the details is all.

Somebody actually uploaded the entire movie on RUclips, but in reverse.
I’d tell people if you seen Momento (which is what inspired T E N E T) it definitely can help to understand the film a little better
@@sk8mafia214 memento and tenet were both made by the same guy though

Perfect example of all this is the Jurassic Park franchise. I'll always remember seeing the original in 1993 when I was 10, my brother was 8. The old domed theater we saw it in shook because they turned the sound up. It still feels like the best film in the franchise by far.
Craziest thing is, you didn't even get a good look at a dinosaur until about 45 minutes in! Similar to Jaws, you built a great film on suspense and character development through a great script, not solely special effects. CGI should enhance a film if it's necessary, not prop it up like a crutch.
This needs to be a regular thing. The Drinker is great.
I absolutely love this!!!
Loving this collaboration. 2 of my favorite soothsayers! Keep 'em coming!

1917 is another film that was great to see in the theater.
You guys are both amazing!! I will say the only movies I actually enjoyed this year are Super Mario, John Wick Chapter 4, Mission Impossible, Oppenheimer, and Killers of the Flowers Moon.
It's not a complete wasteland out there. But God knows we have to be a lot more careful what we choose to watch.
Two of my favorite people in a mighty team up!!!
this was really enjoyable, thanks for doing this
Ok, hear me out: Ben, Critical Drinker, and Jordan Peterson. And three bottles of Whiskey.
What are Ben and Jordan going to drink?...😅
Big budget means nothing without a great story. Look at some of the classics, they were great because of a compelling story, not (necessarily) because of a budget. You left the theater feeling wonderful. The only good films, as you've said, are the ones where there's a brand such as Ghostbusters, Top Gun, Mission Impossible and Indiana Jones (yes, I liked the latest Indy film). The best film of the year (IMO) was Sound of Freedom, which of course, was based on a true story so it doesn't answer the question about creativity. The irony is that today's filmmakers were brought up during the great Spielbergian era. We need another generation of George Lucas and Steven Spielbergs ASAP!
So many great stories waiting to be filmed --just in the sf genre there are tons of books that would make great movies(e.g. books by Gene Wolfe, Ian Banks, Neal Stephenson, etc, etc) but the filmmakers keep going back to the same well.
The first thing I noticed about Oppenheimer was take away the protagonist and I was basically watching 'Trumbo'. A lot of focus on the McCarthy-ism.
It’s good listening to a pair of smart guys sharing their insights and honest opinions.
Love y’all talking together, would love to see more of this and maybe a collaboration with geeks and gamers
Squad for life. Ben and the Drinker. Love them both! ❤
Seriously, keep the crossovers coming when you have the content for them. Great stuff! Just don't force it.

So happy to see TCD's success this year. Would love to see It'sagundam get some shine too.
*THE CROSSOVER WE NEVER KNEW WE NEEDED:*
Great friends in the making.
1:30 That would make sense if they wanted to make money, but forcing DEI wokeness at the expense of story and genuine entertainment tends to prevent this - more and more as audiences become more cynical, and apprehensive about trusting Disney to not inject yet more of this rubbish into an otherwise promising movie.
So, do you think that there’s a guy who goes round to the writers at Disney and prevents them from working on story/character development so that they can write the woke part of the movie? Why do you think those two things are mutually exclusive?
@@Peridactyloptrix Not as such, no. I think there's a guy Iger who hires agenda driven woke people who in turn hire woke fanfic writers who couldn't tell a good story from a carbuncle to write the entire movie, and gay it up or woke it up or leftisize it up or any combination thereof and insert themselves in as protagonist as much as possible and story be damned, new bloated product - and it's not just Disney; Disney just has the most exposed names and faces to the big budget flops that no-one's interested in trusting them enough anymore to go see - not even the activist woke set.

@@Peridactyloptrix _"you seriously think that Bob Iger is more interested in feminism than he is in making money? Really?"_
Umm, no. I don't think Bob Iger is remotely interested in feminism. Wokeness, DEI, the Alphabet Community, etc., yeah. That he's been interested in.
Iger's interested in making money for himself, but he hasn't cared about making money for Disney for quite a few years now.

Goddamn, this is so mind boggling to watch the Drinker talk with Shapiro.
I'll watch it while having my morning cup of coffee with a mug from the Drinker's online store.
"Nah, It'll Be Fine" it says. Truly a motto worth living by.
There's no future for Hollyweird
That is not what I thought Critical Drinker looked like 🤨🤨🤨
Well, this is amazing! The CE with Ben Shapiro! Wow!
I think streaming is another thing that isn't factored it. A streaming service costs about $20 a month these days, now the movies that I only have a passing interest to see on a slow weekend costs easily $50-60 to go see as a couple or $100 or more as a family of four. Instead you wait a few months and view it on streaming. It is only the great event movies that make close to a billion at the box office.
Awesome! Just AWESOME! Two of my favorite "thinkers" together. Do it again mates.
superb!
I love seeing these two together
More of this please. Speak to Nerdrotic - he’s in Texas
Amen 🙏😀
CD makes the comment that creativity isn’t dead in Hollywood, it’s just not incentivized anymore because it’s safer to make a sequel. Is it safer based on the last two years of box office returns? Going back to the well has failed miserably. I think it’s time for originality, from a purely business standpoint.
It's safer in the minds of the little peons with ties up a the top floor. Don't try to anchor Hollywood with logic and reality.
A natural alignment!
Great interview Gents!
Calling a movie bad because it's "woke and political" isn't legitimate criticism and it's disturbing how many people think it is. Your all snowflakes.

Great Video - The reasoning that limitless budgets make for bad decisions. Also directors being promoted without proving themselves with previous second or third unit productions,.
Damn, I really liked The Drinker before this. Seeing him in the same room as his "friend" Ben Shapiro is so disappointing. Disgusting grifter. I thought Drinker was one of the intelligent ones.
I hope more people start having this revelation. He's an absolute right wing pipeline grifter that holds himself at arm's length away from it. Utter trash discussion and analysis from him.
Ah yes, the failed actor and the failed screenwriter complaining about the industry they couldn't get into.
Will need a compilation of these Shapiro - Drinker videos!
I would say that this lack of creativity is the main reason so many films have been flopping.
