REALITY TALK REVIEWS lol... funny how his life was doing pretty good after getting paid to rescue her.. then she nags him into the resistance when he was perfectly fine to just smuggle shit here and there. I swear when she kissed her brother Chewy was actually saying. "Bros before hoes dude"
Disney and Kathleen kennedy are completely screwed with Solo. This is because he is the 80's male chauvinist personified. The man has absolutely no respect for anyone especially for princesses . Remember he doesn't even care about Leah or anything she has to say until they fall in love. Han in his own words "The only person I take orders from is ME!" The moment they deviate from that aspect of his character the movie is done.
@@_XR40_ because its in his character he shoots first ask questions later. He charges in head first into any situation. Plus I don't think he knew until the helmet came off.
Disney Solo - Emilia Clarke: "I might be the only person that knows what you really are." Solo: What's that? The original Solo would say, "Doll, I don't need anyone to tell me what I am, so get off my ship before I have Chewy rip your arms off."
yes. People can say what they want about Lucas, but he really cared for his creation. He allowed expanded universe to form around it, but he left the saga exactly the way he wanted. He told a complete story and straight said that there is never going to be episode 7. But Disney judt want to milk star wars for money with no end. They dont care about its legacy, characters, story, lore or anything. They will keep making a movie every year until we are all dead. Next theyll make a story about that java who shot R2 in new hope. Anything to grab more money. Im officially out of star wars train. I was in since I was a child but it's not star wars anymore. It's a disjointed sjw mess with no purpose or story to tell us, it's just here to make money. I'm not interested.
Anthony Ingruber should have played young Solo. Not just because of his uncanny resemblance to a young Harrison Ford, but also his voice acting. Anyway, he already had played a young Harrison Ford in the movie Age of Adeline. Bad decisions on behalf of Disney....
Yea I also fear that they will ruin him same way they ruined Luke in TLJ. I don't know what was that guy that Mark Hammil played but that deffinietly was not Luke Skywalker.
It's worse than that. It had the guys that did the lego movie directing, and the movie was reportedly almost complete, and they get canned. Then ron howard is brought in and supposedly upwards of 90% of the movie was reshot. It's exceedingly difficult to beleive this won't be a trainwreck of epic proportions.
www.businessinsider.com/star-wars-han-solo-movie-directors-phil-lord-christopher-miller-fired-2017-6/#miller-and-lord-might-go-make-the-flash-6 in case someone is intrested in what happened. Basically speaking they wanted to do the star wars movie one way and Kathleen wanted it a different way.
So instead of confirming your own beliefs of the trailer with your own observations, you adhered to the beliefs of a different person because you were too lazy to think about why you actually disliked the trailer? It's people like you that make schools teach us these stupid things called logical fallacies.
Nobody working on "Solo" seems to get it. Lucas didn't even get it. When he changed it to Greedo shooting first, he basically admitted he didn't understand Han's character arc. We're supposed to be wary of Han so we can be relieved when he comes back to help Luke. No more effective way than having Han shoot someone in cold blood when he's introduced.
What people seem to have forgotten, if they ever thought about it, is that Solo was the comic-relief in the first Star Wars (He wasn't even in the original script for the sequel). The character wasn't some hard-ass criminal, he was plainly an awkward regular guy putting up a front - This was why enough people liked him to get him into the second movie - We all know people like that. Pretty much nice guys that don't quite manage to hide behind a facade of toughness. As far as shooting first, well what idiot _wouldn't_ shoot first in that situation?
He wasn't scripted for the sequel originally because Fox didn't realize how successful Star Wars would be, and they didn't think they could afford to recontract Harrison. The original script for the second movie was on a 90 minute film on a single planet with a really straightforward plot with only luke, leia, and vader + some extras. It wasn't because Han wasn't considered an important character.
Not quite. Again, he was the comic-relief in the first movie. Sidekick material at best. Watch it again and think about it. The original sequel script was novelised as "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" by Alan Dean Foster [I actually bought it twice, because the first time it had the right cover, but the pages inside were Dan Rather's autobiography]. Interestingly, it ends with Luke cutting off one of Vader's arms in a fight inside a volcanoe. With the unexpected success of Star Wars, the budget for the sequel _did_ increase enormously, but the original idea of dropping Solo had nothing to do with expense. Harrison Ford wasn't a "big star" then. He didn't like the movie and he didn't like the character (This wasn't a secret, he was quite vocal about it at the time), and Lucas didn't consider the character essential anyway. He was brought back only because the audiences liked him so much...But even then, Ford wanted out of the series (Thus the carbonite) I suspect Lucas may have a vengeful streak. The fans got all excited about Boba Fett in the second movie and started building him up as a major character, so Lucas casually kills him off at the beginning of the third. Fans gave him a ton of grief about the prequels, so he turned it over to Disney...
Lucas definitely had a vengeful streak lol. But I still think Han was thought of as important from the get-go. Whether or not Harrison's compliance or enthusiasm had to do with it, I honestly can't imagine Solo was a comic relief-sidekick to Luke. That is 3PO's job (and Chewie's to Han, for that matter). So, A) Considering Han has his own sidekick, I really doubt the writing team and Lucas' original visions had Han as a simple comic relief sidekick for Luke. Especially considering Han is set on the trajectory of becoming Leia's romantic interest, not Luke (and I don't think the Jedi celibacy idea was conceived yet). Another consideration is how Han is written into the movie. He's given such a strong setup compared to Obi Wan or Leia. The only character who has a better entrance in all of Star Wars is Vader as he walks onto Leia's ship. B) Yea, I've read the novel. One thing that is readily noticeable is that Luke is a drastically different character. He's brash, arrogant, a bit piggish, and overconfident at times--hardly noticeable compared to the starry-eyed blossoming pilot/jedi farmer Luke that we got in the original movie. Basically they made Luke into Han Solo, meaning that characterization was likely a permanent fixture in the series for the writing team. C) Harrison Ford was very well known at the time as an actor. Perhaps not an A-lister, but he certainly demanded a higher salary than Carrie and Mark, who were total nobodies. Ford was already in many TV episodes, movies (including American Graffiti, and already working on Apocalypse Now).
I agree. I saw The Last Jedi in theater a few weeks ago, and truthfully, I found it to be incredibly boring. There was just nothing interesting about it. The entire Star Wars franchise has become so inauthentic, and slapped-together feeling, that I've completely lost interest in any future releases.
I admit I was never too much into those kind of movies. All I know is I fell asleep 15 minutes into the new one they brought back several years ago and didn't like any of them after that.
This looks to me like Disney will turn Han Solo into an Ernest SJW. The original Han Solo was a representative of the 1970's American malaise. He was a cynical man without purpose. He found his purpose through his friends and the rebellion. Interesting enough, this isn't any different to our contemporary world.
That's interesting you say he represents the American man in the 1970s with his malaise, because the only Star Wars film during the Reagan Era, he found his sense of purpose
Thank you. The impact of Star Wars was a call to action in the 70's that resonated with everyone. The 70's heroes were characters like Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit. Now, I love Burt Reynolds and appreciate his rebellion of running Coors beer across state lines but that's not inspiring to anyone to be a better person.
Robert Leland He also voiced him in Rebels so he's still doing canon star wars too. Say what you will about Rebels but they don't go cheap on the voice actors with Billy D. Williams and James Eral Jones.
+Matthew Coyle why the hell does rebels get the original voice actors (specifically James Earl Jones) but in battlefront (1) we get those voices that are fucking terrible?
NerdyDude186 I dunno man I ain't EA. Plus those were sparse appearances with only a handful of lines instead of a big project with a ton of lines. It might just come down to the topic of video game dubbing vs cartoon dubbing.
to these people. EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING that disagrees with them or doesn't look like a white guy is an SJW. i argue with these types of people on a daily basis. and its not fun.
I hate how pretty they're trying to make it all look. I just don't get the point of this movie, who wanted a Han backstory? Disney Star Wars = not Star Wars to me.
Judging by the fact she got upvoted heavily and you have zero upvotes, NOBODY cares about your comment, hers on the other-hand is well-loved. The first of the new star wars was an utter joke (JJ just rehashed the formula with no originality because he was scared to branch out), but the second of the new series was okay (bad actor's acting improved) albeit killing off all of the original star wars cast to make way for their new characters is not exactly paying homage to the series (once all of them are dead, it kind of makes the original series less powerful, not a "happily ever after" but a "they all die after" so that Disney can make billions).
They won't crowd the movie theaters, SJWs generally don't have such money unless the theaters allow them to illegally trade food stamps for tickets. If a lefist/feminist manages to land an affirmative action job with good pay or a settlement after fraudulently accusing their boss, they usually blow it on drugs, art, or on their ridiculous rent fees in California or New York. Most of them do not care much for star wars, or any wars for that matter. Except the wars on Christmas, the family, christianity, those ones they can get behind! Texas, despite a smaller population, has almost more movie-goers than California. If only Texans would boycott Hollywood, it would collapse. Indeed, the movie theater chains are collapsing from poor ticket sales. I boycott most movies, worst case if I really must see it I go on a discount day ($5 tickets). If it's a Christian movie I'll pay full price. With millions boycotting and changing habits, it will bring hollywood down soon. They are trying to make up for it by courting Chinese ticket sales, but China is buying up hollywood and going to mandate they change their cultural values or not be in the films China produces (i.e. no gay stuff, ironically Hollywood praises China who is slowly buying them up and banning gays and other lefty values from films to make sure it passes the Cultural Ministry's standards).
Sometimes I feel like the whole Star Wars has been ruined by the battle between liberals and conservatives. It's true that some liberals often try to forcibly insert social justice crap in their films, but it's also true that some conservatives see everything as a conspiracy. Every female, black, and other minority character is a "proof" of an evil conspiracy. I kinda feel bad for conservatives who can't enjoy movies anymore because they see enemies everywhere. Can we atleast leave the political bullshit out of our entertainment? Seriously, politics is making people morons.
What are you talking about? None of you fuckheads understand the lore or the deeper back story behind ANY of these characters. You dipshits so quick to cry SJW when you see a movie have a slight difference in opinion from you. Bunch of bitches 😂
theycould write about Obi Wan. Give us some if the 18 yearshe spent hiding. You can cast mcgregor who already played him and is in perfect age to play him at that period of time. You can give us more of Vader, Yoda and even Palpatine in such movie. All the cast is there for the taking and there's definitely a story to tell. But no, gotta make a solo movie, although Han needs NO BACKSTORY and Harrison ford who literally owned the role and made it good in the first place can not play him. Who makes these retarded decisions??
i think he is right. i cant wait to rant over the movie. the director was changed and since kk did it i don't expect anything good from that. I really hope it to be a SJW mess, same as TLJ. I really hope so they kill episode 9 before even writing it.
Ben Solo name one character that they changed from one gender to another... name one character who’s race they changed... name one character that has a sexuality that isn’t heterosexual
You know Matt Scott was being sarcastic right?! The only hope star war fans have is that this movie is at least as bed as TLJ. Do you remember what china said for TLJ " sorry but this is too low for our IQ standard". They tricked the fans with TLJ, but now i guess not many fans will risk another brain rape. The lesson from TLJ is that if KK loves the movie then everybody else will hate the movie. If all they do is just a shitty movie with a shitty plot, with stupid your moma jokes, big lights and sound that would be ok, but i really do hope that they screw big time with SJW shit.
Ben Solo from looking at the other comments on this video, I wouldn’t surprise me if he was being sincere, I loved the last Jedi, same as I loved rogue one and the force awakens, because I didn’t go in with any expectations, I didn’t give a shit about the colour of an actors skin, I didn’t give a shit what is between an actors legs, I wasn’t expecting to relive my childhood like everyone else was, I realise that Star Wars is fiction, I realise that these movies were made for kids who didnt grow up with the other movies, you guys need to realise that the new movies aren’t designed for you, and Disney/lucasfilm don’t owe your childhood anything, and could you please provide a source for that quote from the Chinese people as a whole btw
Erik Marcinik it's not even a question about Disney ruining Star Wars I saw the very first one when I was young and that was the best one from then on it all went downhill.
Erik Marcinik this is an opened discussion so cut the crap. Here is your reason: 1) Luke milking some man-spreading creature breast with fully developed women breast (with nipples too). the creature turns its head to rey and rey looks away. 2) Luke molesting his nephew (little solo in the middle of the night sleeping naked in his bed and his uncle in his room). Before you get triggered i have to remind you that i described frame per frame what rian johnson gave use. PS: You can make Wonder Women a slut running a brothel for the sake of the plot and you can argue that it is an interesting character development, but just don't pretend that she is Wonder Woman. Shitting on the past and not creating anything new is a big SJW problem.
I told you not to be triggered and i told you specifically that anything that i wrote was frame per frame by the movie. I gave an explicit example with Wonder Woman to make you understand that you can't overlook the character only because of the plot. Now, if you are interested i can explain you why TLJ was so bad in so many ways, but first you have to accept that everything i said was not bias, only an objective observation of what was presented in the movie. Or you can reject any of the two points i gave but you have to give facts not opinions. PS: You have to clarify if Luke was in the room before he sensed something dark inside solo, or he was outside little solo's room when he sensed the darkness within solo.
Let we break this step by step, i will go no further in the discussion without we have an agreement on some simple steps so that this discussion becomes productive. Did we see: 1) Luke squeezing some man-spreading (putted in a sitting position with opened legs) creature beast with fully developed women breast (with nipples too). the creature turns its head to rey and rey looks away. Can you tell me if i did an objective description of the scene without adding any assumption. If you agree with my description of the scene please say so, If you don't agree with my description of the scene please you can point out which part of my description is false. PS: Please don't write conclusion or opinions but just objectively discuss the first point. I am really serious and i have no intention of trolling. But nevertheless i want to keep this discussion as objective as possible by applying the rule that we discuss the facts first and then we come to conclusion.
Why are they rebooting Guardians of the Galaxy already? And why did they ruin Groot with diversity casting? He is supposed to be a tree person, not a hair monster. Bloody disney SJWs.
Disney bought the rights to squeeze every possible hundredth of a cent out of it, and that's exactly what they're going to do! I quit after the second prequel, my money only goes to originality, not coattails.
Says who? The original star wars audience back in 1977 was aimed at teenagers and young adults, not "children", and keeping in mind those teenagers got even older would be wise for any company. In fact, I'd say 80% of the star wars audience (when I looked at who watched the latest sequel) are adults. Many kids these days don't even know what star wars is, busy with other fads or paying it no heed. They don't connect with the series in the way the previous generations did, because they have more immersive experiences with other franchises (they've got marvel for brains). The video games are the only thing keeping star wars alive with the new generation.
TexanIndependence From Lucas's own mouth he said it's for kids. Really? Many kids don't even know what SW is? According to who or what? The fact that you said it just to fuel whatever flawed argument you're trying to use (randomly generated % included)?
I honestly don't want to see Han Solo played by an actor other than Harrison Ford, I don't think anyone can fill his shoes, and the guy they chose doesn't even come remotely close.
Yes.. but we have high expectations only because we don't keep in mind that this is now a Disney franchise. They want to transform SW into a "Disney Lovely Princes" kind of plot, with songs and good feelings. I agree that it is completely horrific, but that's why they bought it for.
To be fair, the original EU also had some back story about Han's previous life as an imperial officer as well as how he rescued a bunch of Wookies from Kashyyyk, including Chewbacca.
That grunt at 2:30 pretty much sums up my feelings about the new solo movie. I can skip the theatrical release on this one and be just fine, especially considering the bar having been set so low by the other disney star wars movies.. they're basically B movies without the charm.
I know that I’m going to get killed for saying this, but I honestly don’t think that it looks half bad. Nothing spectacular, nothing horrible. That’s just my opinion though. (And no, I’m not an SJW or a feminist, I hate those people...)
Yes Rogue One fucking worked. Don't think so? Give me legitimate issues. "It's nothing but moments" or "it was boring" are not issues, that's just you being petty. Rogue One gave us a backstory we've all been creatively fantasizing about; how did the Rebels get the Death Star plans? The only major issue I could see was the forced covering up of the Death Star's fatal flaw, but that was ANH's fault, not Rogue One's, and the latter worked with the plot hole quite well. It also worked because of no Jedi. I know, what's Star Wars without the Jedi? Hence why this was not an episodic film. Without the Jedi here we were able to get a better sense of the extremely high stakes and just how deadly the Empire really was, especially since the entire main cast was killed in the end. Never saw that before in Star Wars. Topped off with an edge of your seat final battle where, even though we knew the ultimate result, how they got the plans was entirely unpredictable. And did the originals give us THAT Darth Vader? Hell no!
whats next, the early years of luke skywalker? how he was raised on a shitfarm tatooine, little adventure with scary tuskan raiders? obi-wan chilling in the background.
The two critical pieces of Han Solo's backstory are how he came to own the Millenium Falcon and how he met Chewbacca. Both of these were explained beautifully in novel form years ago. Once again, Disney would be wise to stick to that backstory instead of inventing a whole new one that simply doesn't measure up. This trailer seems to suggest that they MIGHT be staying true to the original canon, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
This movie really isn’t made for the casual fans. More for the hardcore fans that collect all the comics and books and games. Speaking as one of those, it feels like this movie is going to be like some of the best stuff from the EU and that makes me excited
Brandan Miller its actually not for hardcore fans, its actually for the younger generation. Thats pretty much what disney said when releasing the new movies
thegrimreaper _20 that’s not the way it feels, not for the spin-off movies, and that certainly doesn’t apply to the dark and gritty Rogue One. Basically what seems to be the case is that children aren’t the demographic, but instead Star Wars fans are; children, teens, adults, basically anyone who already has an established preference for Star Wars.
Harrison Ford Born: July 13, 1942 (age 75), Chicago, Illinois, U.S. Star wars Release date May 25, 1977 34 years, 10 months, 13 days including the end date.
Han solos backstory was already that he was good. He was a pilot for the empire and another pilot or trooper was mistreating a wookie han stepped in and then left the empire with chewy.
"We really felt that bringing out Han Solo's bi-sexual side would bring this movie into 2018 territory. Foremost on our minds, when creating this film was inclusivity towards the LGBTQ+ groups" - Alicia Fields, lead director.
What is an interesting backstory that could be told? What happened to change his path to the point where he rescued a Wookie instead of looking out for himself? I've looked forward to seeing that since 1977.
I was never really sold on the idea of a Young Solo movie. I'm old enough to remember the Young Indiana Jones miniseries. Those sucked even before the prequel trilogy got on the map of contemporary badness. I will skip this one unless I'm dragged along. Maybe people will gasp and boo when they destroy Han's character? It's not like Vader can save this one.
The Imperialist That seems like a 'emperors new clothes' kind of argument. You can't point out what makes it swj, so you say "people with common sense can see it", hinting that if you don't see it you don't have common sense.
Niclas Johansson I'm talking about how when look the movie trailer, you get the clear inpression that the character of Han Solo is now social justice warriorfied (not a real wording, but still.
The Imperialist No it doesn't. Listen, I understand that you're either obsessed with SJWs or just made that comment for likes, but as of now, there's nothing SJW about it.
And then Disney said the thing that would make Star Wars better was that if Han and Lea got divorced and the only Son was an emo, murderous, psychopath. Thanks Disney!
Seem like everyone is hating on this movie because of the last stars movie, and yes i agree the TLJ sucked, but this looks like it can be good, similar to Rogue One.
Bret Hart I haven't seen the movie yet to make that call, in the early Starwars movies he was more a dick than a womanizer, i think you guys are desperately reaching here, lol.
LarryBonson It is a first trailer. You are right about thay. You should also know that a trailer's job is to get someone interested in the movie right? Don't call me shallow because this trailer failed at its job.
" Now he praises the new SW films even if they're objectively SHIT movies...." Something can't be objectively shit, especially considering that there were a lot of people who did enjoy the movie. Understand that I have loved Star Wars since I was about 2 years old. I was 15 when The Phantom Menace came out, and I actually enjoyed it despite the flaws. To this day, I would defend the prequels even though I understand why people may not like them. But I have no love for these new movies. They obviously lack that George Lucas touch that made the original 6 cheesy but still gave them some kind of heart. These new movies seem soulless to me, and I don't really like them. (Rogue One was good, but there were some things that really nagged me about it.) EVEN STILL, I can't say that the new Disney Star Wars films are objectively bad, because everyone has their own tastes, as crappy as we may think their tastes to be. That's why Michael Bay is still a director.
Rouge One had 2 good parts in it. Darth Vader chocking the officer saying "don't choke up on your ambition" and Darth Vader cutting down rebels at the end. Solo will have one good part. When the credits start rolling.
When are we going to get a full-length review of "Rogue One" by Ben Shapiro? I'd like to hear him explain in detail what he likes about the movie and how it is better than the other SW films that have come out recently.
Why, does it suggest it borrows from the expanded universe at all? I was really hoping that Disney would borrow from the popular bits of the expanded universe. I'm not saying they had to make the sequel movies just be the Thrawn Trilogy, but Disney could have taken inspiration from what worked, and stayed away from what didn't, in the post-trilogy expanded universe books. TFA and TLJ makes it clear they don't give a shit about that... But maybe they do in the 'side' movies?
Disney has been using a lot of the expanded universe (EU) in many places. The "Rebels" animated series reintroduced Thrawn (and his character is awesome), and he got a new book, the comics are taking EU references as well, etc. The trailer suggests some Han Solo's EU characteristics, but these videos will explain it better: ruclips.net/video/1PPXAQ7rEKw/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/t3H59zpQR90/видео.html
That's the problem. Many people just insist they're HUGE star war fans, but they only like the OT... basically the least 'explored' out of all the star wars. They barely touch upon the politics/galaxy of the star wars franchise... which led to love getting into EU and eventually playing SWTOR just for the story/ambiance. The OT was good as a space opera about a dysfunctional family... that's about it. I do enjoy learning much more of the star wars universe rather it just being a simple space opera though. That being said, I dislike the Han Solo trailer because it makes me think it will become an overdone, exaggerated story on him (random explosions, a complete arse personality (even though I'd like to believe Han is more of a silver tongued, quick to act guy). I like the Blade Runner-esque aesthetics... but thats about it. It's confusing though why so many star wars "fans" hate learning so much about the universe. That's like saying you love math, but you don't want to learn the proofs and laws behind the operations.
I want to see a 4 hour movie showing what Luke was doing before a New Hope. I want to see him getting up early to work on the moisture farm, doing errands, fixing droids, going to the local market. The finale is him shooting a womp rat in a T-16 to kill the time. Minor dialogue and human imagination isn't enough to flesh out a characters backstory we need AT LEAST 4 hours and to pay money for CGI to imagine things for us, but with more political correctness and bad casting.
Harrison was asked if he was excited to see a younger version of his solo character in the Solo movie. "No" and his facial expression was sincere had funny to say the least. He is fed up the Disney milking the franchise for what it's worth. I am too
I couldn't get attached to any of the characters and felt like I wasted my time. Plus it was yet another movie that made the rebels incompetent. They weren't incompetent, if they were they'd have fallen to the empire before Luke left Tantooine.
Since the original trilogy there has only been one moment that captured the awe of Star Wars; the final scene of Rogue One with Darth Vader being scary- like he's supposed to be... that's what people want to see.
2058 Disney releases the follow - up backstory to the critically acclaimed Solo: A Star Wars Story: Solo: a Kids Tale. This time focusing on pre-teen Han going through puberty. His feuds with pre-teen Greedo and Jabba in the school yard, his pre-teen friendship with Lando, and sneaking to take his Dad's land speeder out for the first time. You thought the pod-racing was exciting in Ep. 1
what bothers me the most is that they cast this guy who looks nothing like Harrison Ford as Han, and then they cast Donald Glover as Lando, making things even worse because now they have somebody who actually looks like Lando in the same room with somebody who looks nothing like Han.
Exactly. I wish Disney left the originals alone and tackled something Old Republic like Revan or something along those lines. You just don't go in and redefine characters that have been around for 30 years. Who thought any of that was a good idea?
They gotta make a Boba Fett movie! It would be the perfect movie to bridge episodes 4 and 5 together. It's so simple! The Empire puts a huge bounty on the head of the rebel who destroyed the Death Star. Of course Boba is the one who gest hired by Vadar, because Boba is such a bad-ass bounty hunter he's highly recommended. And then Boba manages to track down and find out that its Luke. But Luke manages to elude Boba's pursuit and capture. And then naturally, at the end, Boba tells Vadar that he almost got him but the one crucial thing he was able to get was the *name* of the rebel who destroyed the Death Star.... Luke Skywalker. BOOM! Instant bad-ass "A Star Wars Story" movie!
Dude, good call on the synthesizers, that didn't really register for me the first time. That music in conjunction with the initial feel of the atmosphere kind of echoes Blade Runner...
I liked the legends origin of Han. Kept it out of the movies, and it made his skills as a pilot believable. Graduated the academy best in his class, and that's why he had those yellow lines down the sides of his pants. It was a symbol of status.
In my opinion, as long as the movie doesn't ruin the character of Han, it at least has the potential to be entertaining, and probably nothing more. Also, Rogue One had Grand Moff Tarkin, Princess Leia, our two favorite droids, and the two guys who threaten Luke in the cantina in the movie as well, although it was mostly for cameos/easter eggs.
I'm just surprised Han is still a white guy tbh.
I'm sure he identifies as something else.
MVW good point !! The new James Bond will be a black woman.
I'm surprised he is still male
REALITY TALK REVIEWS lol... funny how his life was doing pretty good after getting paid to rescue her.. then she nags him into the resistance when he was perfectly fine to just smuggle shit here and there. I swear when she kissed her brother Chewy was actually saying. "Bros before hoes dude"
xD HAHAHAHA
Disney and Kathleen kennedy are completely screwed with Solo. This is because he is the 80's male chauvinist personified. The man has absolutely no respect for anyone especially for princesses . Remember he doesn't even care about Leah or anything she has to say until they fall in love. Han in his own words "The only person I take orders from is ME!" The moment they deviate from that aspect of his character the movie is done.
trexx32 and just like in real life the woman falls in love with the badass flawed character that she can try and “fix”
Aldreth ask Ben Solo how that turned out
Great points
Agreed. NO way they're going to maintain the personality of the original character.
They didn't have any qualms about completely violating Luke's character...
Han doesn't shoot first. Han just shoots. He's such a badass that Greedo didn't even have a chance to think about shooting.
PrinceOfCats5 Finally, a person who speak My English
Han did shoot first - and so what? What kind of idiot _wouldn't_ shoot first in that situation?
@@_XR40_ because its in his character he shoots first ask questions later. He charges in head first into any situation. Plus I don't think he knew until the helmet came off.
Disney Solo - Emilia Clarke: "I might be the only person that knows what you really are." Solo: What's that? The original Solo would say, "Doll, I don't need anyone to tell me what I am, so get off my ship before I have Chewy rip your arms off."
"Hey kid, I'm putting together a crew" Said no one ever...
it seems cheesy but just look at some of the dialogue in the original films XD
because people say.
"no that's not true that's impossible"
A rogue named Solo in a team up movie? WTF?
Right, cause realism is totally something Star Wars is known for...
Tayvin4042
that's what I was saying.
99% of the most known quotes nobody says.
When Lucas sold Star Wars it was all over
It was all over when the Ewoks appeared according to the hate of the time.
It's a disjointed sjw mess with no purpose or story to tell us, it's just
here to make money. I'm not interested.
You mean it got 10000X better have you seen the god awful Prequels
aaron medina theyre a lot bette than the previous sw movies
Anthony Ingruber should have played young Solo.
Not just because of his uncanny resemblance to a young Harrison Ford, but also his voice acting.
Anyway, he already had played a young Harrison Ford in the movie Age of Adeline.
Bad decisions on behalf of Disney....
He's not an actor! An impression of Harrison Ford will get old after 10 minutes
Filip Eklund Apparently the guy they did use isn't much of one either.
Apparently today is Anthony's Birthday. I found this out looking him up because of this comment.
Filip Eklund They had to hire an acting coach for the guy who is playing Han.
Yea I also fear that they will ruin him same way they ruined Luke in TLJ. I don't know what was that guy that Mark Hammil played but that deffinietly was not Luke Skywalker.
Didn't the first director leave or was fired because he thought the Solo actor was shit?
They thought Kathleen Kennedy (LucasFilm President) was being too much of a SJW
It's worse than that. It had the guys that did the lego movie directing, and the movie was reportedly almost complete, and they get canned. Then ron howard is brought in and supposedly upwards of 90% of the movie was reshot. It's exceedingly difficult to beleive this won't be a trainwreck of epic proportions.
Simon Fuller Was that really the reason or you just saying that?
Simon Fuller No, no, no...the two-director team was fired because they were turning it into a constant-improv comedy.
www.businessinsider.com/star-wars-han-solo-movie-directors-phil-lord-christopher-miller-fired-2017-6/#miller-and-lord-might-go-make-the-flash-6
in case someone is intrested in what happened. Basically speaking they wanted to do the star wars movie one way and Kathleen wanted it a different way.
I was wondering why I wasnt happy about the trailer. Ben confirmed what shouldve been obvious to me.
So instead of confirming your own beliefs of the trailer with your own observations, you adhered to the beliefs of a different person because you were too lazy to think about why you actually disliked the trailer? It's people like you that make schools teach us these stupid things called logical fallacies.
Oh shut the fuck up cool guy.
He's second bill in his movie a woman has to bill
I wish my IQ was as high as yours.
Id pay for Ben to write a Star Wars movie.
As Pooped By Anakin Skywalker Shapiro, Ben Solo writing it would just be Darth Vader Erotica
Well he DID like Rogue One, so I don't know
Fuck. That.
No thanks. The Swartz bit has already been done by a proper jew producer.
One where Darth Vader wins >
"I'll go see it anyways because, hey, it's star wars"
Literally exactly what Disney's new movies and tv series' are relying on
Nobody working on "Solo" seems to get it. Lucas didn't even get it. When he changed it to Greedo shooting first, he basically admitted he didn't understand Han's character arc. We're supposed to be wary of Han so we can be relieved when he comes back to help Luke. No more effective way than having Han shoot someone in cold blood when he's introduced.
you just explained how I've always felt in two sentences better than I've ever been able to articulate lol
He was brought back only because the audiences liked him so much...But even then, Ford wanted out of the series (Thus the carbonite)
I suspect Lucas may have a vengeful streak.
Why can't Disney just dial back on the movie creation. Like 1 star wars movie every other year and 1-2 marvel movies a year. Like cmon
It's like they're intentionally trying to fuck up the star wars series as much as they possibly can.
Donnie Nehls i am after just here for Lando
yeah because that's what successful companies do, that's why they paid $4b, just so they could throw it all away
Donnie Nehls And why do you say that?
Just doesn't seem to captivate me with the story like it did when I was 10. All effects, no point.
I agree. I saw The Last Jedi in theater a few weeks ago, and truthfully, I found it to be incredibly boring. There was just nothing interesting about it.
The entire Star Wars franchise has become so inauthentic, and slapped-together feeling, that I've completely lost interest in any future releases.
people look through rose tinted specs at the originals , they're just as mediocre as the new ones
I admit I was never too much into those kind of movies. All I know is I fell asleep 15 minutes into the new one they brought back several years ago and didn't like any of them after that.
Brad Conklin If we're being completely honest, nothing in life really has a point at all.
+Brad Conklin Could it be because Star Wars was intended for 10-year-olds?🤔
Don't go see it Ben, if people go see it Disney will keep killing it.
Robert Holmstrom God you people are stretching hard to fuel your butthurt.
That's interesting you say he represents the American man in the 1970s with his malaise, because the only Star Wars film during the Reagan Era, he found his sense of purpose
Very well said
I'll do an Obi Wan movie with Ewan McGreggor, but pass on Solo. Especially with Captain virtue signaling Donald Glover.
Schmidty the Kid Who else to portray a modern Lando than Childish Gambino?
to these people. EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING that disagrees with them or doesn't look like a white guy is an SJW. i argue with these types of people on a daily basis. and its not fun.
"and yes, Han shot first"
Wrong.
Han shot. FULL STOP.
Greedo never even fired a shot.
Greedo* But yes, Greedo never fired.
Yeah... but "Han shot Greedo before he could react" doesn't make a very good slogan.
Greedo was played by three different people in the movie including a female. Was Greedo really a SJW?
#OnlyHanShot
TheOfficialSub, thank you. Spelling corrected.
I hate how pretty they're trying to make it all look. I just don't get the point of this movie, who wanted a Han backstory?
Disney Star Wars = not Star Wars to me.
Tons of people hated the prequels. NOBODY cares about your whining. I love the new Star Wars movies.
Thank you. Fuck the new star wars. Time to find a new franchise to geek over while sjw's and fat ass feminists crowd the movie theaters.
Patrick Bateman the last 3 Star Wars movies were #1 highest-grossing in the world. So fuck the RUclips comment section.
Hollywood, destroyer of dreams.
REALITY TALK REVIEWS * both
Star wars and the galactic battle of social justice
Ty Spot on! Which is the main reason I refuse to go see it. The rest of you are welcome :)
gerberho1 gender fluid jedi
Sometimes I feel like the whole Star Wars has been ruined by the battle between liberals and conservatives. It's true that some liberals often try to forcibly insert social justice crap in their films, but it's also true that some conservatives see everything as a conspiracy. Every female, black, and other minority character is a "proof" of an evil conspiracy. I kinda feel bad for conservatives who can't enjoy movies anymore because they see enemies everywhere. Can we atleast leave the political bullshit out of our entertainment? Seriously, politics is making people morons.
Yes, there are two female characters. Must be a feminazi takeover.
What are you talking about? None of you fuckheads understand the lore or the deeper back story behind ANY of these characters. You dipshits so quick to cry SJW when you see a movie have a slight difference in opinion from you. Bunch of bitches 😂
I agree, I think this is a pointless story to expand on...sigh, a waste of a star wars movie.
YuGiOhDuelChannel Yeah at least with Kenobi hopefully we can get a good story
Schubert Rivas the fuck? Who the fuck wants to see Obi wan walk around tatooine for 2 hours?
I agree. But why write the word ‘sigh’. Like what kind of thing you doing. I dunno that bothered me
YuGiOhDuelChannel but look how rouge one ended up my guy
theycould write about Obi Wan.
Come on Disney I think it was time for a female Han rebelling against an evil man empire, if your going to fuck up Star Wars then just go all in!
are you a moron?
i think he is right. i cant wait to rant over the movie. the director was changed and since kk did it i don't expect anything good from that.
Im surprised han solo isnt a black female in this.
ltwargssf R who identifies as a gay man
I won't be able to get past the fact neither actor looks Anything like the characters they play. Smh
"hey I'll go see it anyways cause it's Star Wars" That's like the definition of any Star Wars movie other than the originals,
I clicked this expecting to disagree with you, but I actually understand where you're coming from with this and I agree with you.
NΞGAT0RY im the same as you.. I do not think it looks great, but better than what I've been hearing about it.. but his points are spot on here..
Enough is enough.
Could not pay me to
Watch it.
Erik Marcinik : Yes
Erik Marcinik it's not even a question about Disney ruining Star Wars I saw the very first one when I was young and that was the best one from then on it all went downhill.
Erik Marcinik this is an opened discussion so cut the crap.
Here is your reason:
1) Luke milking some man-spreading creature breast with fully developed women breast (with nipples too). the creature turns its head to rey and rey looks away.
Did we see:
1) Luke squeezing some man-spreading (putted in a sitting position with opened legs) creature beast with fully developed women breast (with nipples too). the creature turns its head to rey and rey looks away.
Can you tell me if i did an objective description of the scene without adding any assumption.
If you agree with my description of the scene please say so,
If you don't agree with my description of the scene please you can point out which part of my description is false.
I quit after the second prequel, my money only goes to originality, not coattails.
the prequels weren't made for you, they were made for the kids of the early 2000s, you should try to remember that star wars is made for children
Naftul Zvi, George Lucas didn’t understand what he’d created, that’s how we got the prequels.
Disney didn't buy it until after the prequels
Ben "This trailer is a bad movie" Shapiro
Jamie Costa should have played Han Solo.
SHAPIRO SHOT FIRST!
+REAL EYES OPEN Shapiro: A Star Wars Story.
So much for Han winning the Falcon off Lando from a card game.
Matthew O'Hara I wonder what his collateral was? The money he borrowed from jaba. But he didn’t pay Jaba
Wait to watch the movie b4 making assumptions bud
What the hell is that ?!
It is like prospecting for the Hells Angels, and finding that you are the most dodgy person in the room, and the rest are larping.
"i'll go see it anyway cause hey it's Star Wars" you sir are part of the problem.
I guess it's okay if it's for review purposes.
I honestly don't want to see Han Solo played by an actor other than Harrison Ford, I don't think anyone can fill his shoes, and the guy they chose doesn't even come remotely close.
Admiral Ackbar needs his own film!!!
Does not look like Harrison Ford
thats because harrison ford is a different person
It really doesn't matter if he looks like him, it matters if he can pull off Han's personality imo
Jim joe Kelly It doesn’t matter if he looks like Harrison Ford. He just has to feel like Harrison Ford did as Han Solo.
Yes.. but we have high expectations only because we don't keep in mind that this is now a Disney franchise. They want to transform SW into a "Disney Lovely Princes" kind of plot, with songs and good feelings. I agree that it is completely horrific, but that's why they bought it for.
I like how happy he is in the thumbnail and as soon as the video starts he just goes “no no no!”
I give up ...... I can't take Hollywood remakes, prequels & sequels anymore..... just stop, for the love of god just stop
The former champion bowler, King Pin......is Han Solo's mentor.............FUCK ON YOU DISNEY!!!!!!!!!
As Patton Oswald once said:
“I don’t care where the stuff I love comes from, I just love the stuff I love”.
Blade runner 2049 is about robot fighting bad robots and figuring out what it is to be human. It's a great movie.
Neavris yeah I have to admit , the new blade runner was good.
I know that I’m going to get killed for saying this, but I honestly don’t think that it looks half bad. Nothing spectacular, nothing horrible. That’s just my opinion though.
(And no, I’m not an SJW or a feminist, I hate those people...)
When I saw that commercial all I said during those first two lines were "No you werent, no you werent, you were an ace pilot of the empire guy...'
Pretty much nice guys that don't quite manage to hide behind a facade of toughness...
#notmysolo
Hell no!
Exactly!
whats next, the early years of luke skywalker?
how he was raised on a shitfarm tatooine, little adventure with scary tuskan raiders? obi-wan chilling in the background.
Race Wars: The Phantom Father Figure
Yes.
Brandan Miller it doesnt feel like it but it is. Disney doesnt care for the old fans, just the young generation
thegrimreaper _20 Disney cares about money man. No matter whose wallet it comes from. You think they give a damn about the kids either? Heelllllll no
Brandan Miller but they also dont care about the older generation
Harrison Ford Born: July 13, 1942 (age 75), Chicago, Illinois, U.S.
Star wars Release date May 25, 1977
34 years, 10 months, 13 days including the end date.
Han solos backstory was already that he was good. He was a pilot for the empire and another pilot or trooper was mistreating a wookie han stepped in and then left the empire with chewy.
Eh I hated Rogue One. Extremely boring uninteresting characters.
+Phantom Prism Yep, the only character with a personality was the droid. The rest were so bland that I can barely remember them.
redlightmax the Vader scene was pretty great at the end tho
"We really felt that bringing out Han Solo's bi-sexual side would bring this movie into 2018 territory. Foremost on our minds, when creating this film was inclusivity towards the LGBTQ+ groups" - Alicia Fields, lead director.
Jacob Hansen Oh please God be joking.
Jacob Hansen I really hope this is bullshit and if it's not just kill me
I hope that's a fake quote.
Taylor West Either way it's still funny lol.
So what gender is Chewbacca under all that fur and does he agree with his genitalia?
Harrison Ford was born in 1942 so was 34 when filming on Star Wars began in 1976 and 35 when the film was released in 1977.
What is an interesting backstory that could be told? What happened to change his path to the point where he rescued a Wookie instead of looking out for himself? I've looked forward to seeing that since 1977.
Don’t be part of the problem... vote with your wallet and don’t skip this film.
You mean skip the film?
I'm skipping the film.
JakesFavorites, I think Young Indy is awesome, especially the war years, but yeah it just doesn't seem to fit the backstory of Indiana Jones.
This reeks of sjw bullshit
How exactly?
mickor Thanks, but anyone with common sense can see it.
"Then there is no pleasing you" - Goldmember
Seem like everyone is hating on this movie because of the last stars movie, and yes i agree the TLJ sucked, but this looks like it can be good, similar to Rogue One.
No, I'm just hating on it because from what the trailer showed me this is NOT Han Solo.
Jackman LeBlanc It's a 1st trailer, they didn't even show the plot, have people really become this shallow, smh.
Bret Hart Are saying Rouge sucked?, seriously.
You should team up with the guy from I Hate Everything. You seem to be sour about every damn thing that people may enjoy.
M. Strain Jr.
He speaks the truth on most things. We can't all be hedonists.
The guy from I Hate Everything loved the new Star Wars movies. What are you talking about?
" Now he praises the new SW films even if they're objectively SHIT movies...."
Something can't be objectively shit, especially considering that there were a lot of people who did enjoy the movie.
I said that he is sour about every damn thing that people may enjoy. Most Star Wars fans didn't enjoy The Last Jedi, so obviously IHE liked it.
IHE is a Disney cockrider, he's gonna suck this film off like he did with TFA and TLJ.
#disappointedfanboy #disappointedbutnotsurprised
I don't like Star Wars anyway. LOL I just like Ben's reactions to things.
Louisa Isn't that fun to see this pushed overrated crappy children movie franchise and it's fans finally get what they deserve?
Actually, to most fans who are into the expanded universe (old and new, but mainly old) are really excited with this trailer
No there not
False on all accounts.
I am too
Bens a haterrr 😜 #starwars4life #exceptTheLastJedi #itsuckedhugeballs
Rogue One was dog shit. No way this film will be worse than Rogue One.
Rogue One was not a good movie, but it at least had some good action. The chinamen and the robit were also pretty fun.
I think Rogue One was the best of the new movies. That's not saying much though. Maybe Disney could remake Plan 9 From Outer space.
Rogue One was the only disney SW I enjoyed to any degree.
Me too, i thought it gave us the story without violating the Star Wars mythos, the other movies suck.
What’s the name of his hat thing
Who the hell cares what this guy thinks about movies? Isn't this like actors giving their opinions on politics?
Wow... Ben Shapiro was finally wrong about something for the first time ever.
John Bensinger what, you think Greedo shot first?
greedo never actually shot back at all. Han shot, greedo ate the table. End scene.
Oh he's wrong about many things. Anything regarding science really.
I used to get happy when seeing a Star Wars trailer. Even a prequel. What has Disney done?
yes the falcon is in the solo movie here is the link to the video ruclips.net/video/xKenVqyvCI0/видео.html
First thing wrong: The writing is all expositiony and Han would never refer to what he did as "scams".
Exactly. I wish Disney left the originals alone and tackled something Old Republic like Revan or something along those lines. You just don't go in and redefine characters that have been around for 30 years. Who thought any of that was a good idea?
I get the first movie but, why does every movie in Star Wars have to be filmed on a desert planet.
Why TF did they not hire Anthony Iigruber? The movie would've had a shot with a lead who looks/sounds like Ford.
Leia: I love you !
Han: I know.
Seriously!? I thought this movie was a joke, now it's a thing.
Dude, good call on the synthesizers, that didn't really register for me the first time. That music in conjunction with the initial feel of the atmosphere kind of echoes Blade Runner...
Wonder what he would say about Ready Player One
Hey Ben would you have changed your opinion of Solo if Chris Pratt were to play Han in the movie?
I liked the legends origin of Han. Kept it out of the movies, and it made his skills as a pilot believable. Graduated the academy best in his class, and that's why he had those yellow lines down the sides of his pants. It was a symbol of status.
Minor point: Ford was 35 when ANH came out...
Not only did Han shoot first, he was the only one to shoot.
