Superb vid mate. My CC has recently had the reverse light always on issue / tailgate warning lamp with the occasional boot opening as I'm flying down the M9. Gonna get my soldering iron out and get fixing. Cheers.

Thanks a lot mate this was a nightmare of a job but very doable with a little knowledge and patience….biggest issue was same colour wires 🙈 so I would advise label everything before stripping….saved myself about £400-£600 at a guess in labour cost alone no doubt 🙈🙈 much appreciated pal any issues or questions let me know….might not be able to answer but will help if I can 👌

    Thanks for showing.
My CC is starting with trunk issues already.
I think VW should make the wires a bit longer and just lead them upto the actually winge-position, so there is not so much movement as where they are now...
But I'm hopefull; it is fixable!

I used single core wire from a piece of flex cable….one of the main issues was that all the wires where the same colour which maid it a pain but definitely fixable for sure 👍

This happened when I did mine but after turning everything off and back on it worked almost like a reset for some reason…..if everything else works fine then just check the connection again perhaps it’s broken further up, good luck 👍

@@phdiy3913 Bloody passat, spent 1hr for troubleshooting as the turning lights on the boot wasn't working, later to find out those are empty... Very close to use some petrol and set it on fire 😂

Right hand rear reserving has just to fault on my 2012 cc. Im a novoice at wiring. What tools, wiring did you need for the job? Thanks, great vid

You can reach the wiring from inside the boot on the side panel to determine if it is faulty…..put it in reverse and try and wiggle the wires…..basically all you need it cable, insulating tape, soldering iron or even the heat shrink clamps….basic cable joining methods

Just repaired my harness and found that VW, although all wires are a shade of brown. They put very small numbers that coincide with harness plugs. They want you to buy a plug, however I did not video my repair but some wire same gauge, electrical tape, diagonal cutters, wire stripper and a multimeter and you can rebuild your harness yourself. Test run tomorrow 5/30/24... I made a hand written wire diagram for the 5 color plug VW CC. Oh removed the wire breaking ELBOW!!!😂

How can I identify the cables ?

It doesn’t really matter as long as you can label everything before you start cutting and disconnecting then you’ll be fine….i just numbered everything on both sides of the cables
