Free From Amber in Spiteful Priest was kind of really good when Spiteful Summoner was a major meta player in a few different decks at the time. The buff to 7 was just a nothing buff, since the card already saw basically 0 play once rotation happened. At the time, summoning an 8 drop from Spiteful, and then also having it tutor Amber and be able to summon an 8+ drop were both really strong with the card pool in that meta. Also yeah, I think the buff did come along with the Un'Goro twist set, which saw a ton of similar buffs that were basically just meant to make a few cards playable while the twist set existed, but weren't meant to actually impact wild.
I used (pre-buff) Harkener of Dread in From the Other Side Shaman when it was in standard, and it was pretty good. You needed a way to delay aggro in the midgame to get to your pop off and the 5 mana minion was acceptable in that regard. The 6/6 taunt was also significant when using FtOS, as it was a guaranteed taunt as opposed to random 8 drops from Containment Unit or 8/8 rushers from Generals so it could block face damage. Yes, Denathrius could heal you, but only if it had a target to attack. When it was buffed, it had no synergy with any other shaman card. As a standalone card, it was not strong enough over more synergistic packages.
Yeah, at least they'll feel a little less bad when randomly generated or when using it in Dungeon Run-esque modes _(although sometimes it backfires and ruins the synergy, like Shimmering Tempest being a Battlecry instead of Deathrattle makes it not fit one of the buckets it appears in)._
14:00 and since then the only place where pogohopper shines brilliantly is the brawl where you get 1 or 2 cards and entire deck is nothing but those cards. but these days, priests card probably outshines in the 2 card brawl because of shard of naaru that never saw any nerf of any kind which only silences enemies.
with free from amber you also used to consistently hit that 4/8 lifesteal taunt statue guy that kills a random minion which was a really good hit for topend reno priest
From De Other Side had a brief moment in Standard being a decent tier 2/3 deck. The buffs were somewhat relevant. The four horsemen OTK just auto won certain matchups.

1. Deathbringer Saurfang I feel would be better if it had *Lifesteal* at the very least. Letting you recoup some of the Health you lose infinately respawning him. It being 4 Mana would make it genuinely solid tho. 2. Rhythmdancer really should have Poisonous or smth. 3. I'll be honest with you, half the cards Hunter got in Perils were kind of disappointing. Most Hunter decks I've seen in standard just use what they have from Titans and Whizbang's Workshop 4. I still have no clue why MoTLK Shaman focused on Undead. Unless they plan to release more Undead support I have no clue what was the point of not just ripping the bandaid and making them DK cards
The Saurfang idea was like to spend 5 health to defend 5 damage from board for 0 mana. If it had lifesteal you would just defend board for 0 mana and 0 health and at best you would clear all board and gain 12-15 health. So it is good thing that this card was almost unplayable for me.
@@impkiller5932 Yeah, most of the time it just traded 5 health for nothing, since more decks could just kill your taunt compared to deal 5 directly to your face. So you'd just be killing yourself for no reason. It basically felt like you just had a card in your hand that you never wanted to play. If you ever get it randomly now, it just takes up a slot as a completely dead card. Lifesteal would at least make it hopefully playable at the time. Obviously, it wouldn't be playable in the current meta, even with lifesteal. I don't think you're perceiving its power level correctly if you think adding lifesteal at 5 mana 3/6 puts it straight to tier 1.
