Honestly, I love giving my money to Mike and his crew. I cannot find many businesses that put out so much information on RUclips to really educate a customer, not push products and sales. They are also so laid back and cool to work with.
Excellent content Ian! You probably saw my 24' 501 at Taco Moto. I'm getting the "ultimate" build on mine and we should have a similar bike when mine is complete! In hindsight I wish I would have gone with a 23' as aftermarket parts are impossible to get for these new bikes...at least they were in January when I dropped my bike off with them. Seeing your build has me excited again to get mine...it's been a frustrating process to say the least! Thanks again for posting!
I'm also waiting for a lot of parts, I totally get your frustration. I bought my bike in December and as of today it has maybe 200 miles on it. Early adopter issues with the new generation for sure. But I think the 2024 changes are worth the wait.
Heck yeah! Congrats again on a badass machine! Taco Moto Mike just made my crf450RL a million times better by getting his Get ECU. Great dude and jealous of both you guy’s 501s. It will be my next bike and hopefully I’ll be able to get Mike to set it up like only his genius self can do. Thanks for the great content. 🏍️💨
Great stuff , love the passion and pride , buying the right stuff once because of quality is valuable and sometimes out on the trails can be priceless , thanks
Really great info. I've always advocated for spending $$$ on suspension, ergos, and then fueling. I stereotype riders who throw on exhaust, spoke sleeves and graphic kits. It is nice to see that trusted industry professionals are honest about things like this. It's a breath of fresh air. Is my opinion a hot take, and probably an unpopular hot take? Yep, more than likely Does that mean I'm wrong? Absolutely not
8:10 man, the storebrand push is really on the nose. Even if i might trust YOUR integrity i sure hate how every retailer is building a nice closed fence around what you can and cannot get as a customer. The rundown of features and counsel offered seem top notch
Tacomoto says each ecu has different features it would be nice to describe those features and what capabilities each ecu has. They aren't cheap so in in depth review would be great on each. Does it connect to an app on the phone to see engine parameters, can you adjust rpm yourself etc etc. Would be nice to see the features.
He had me with his vision of quality and then the USA sourcing sold me 100 percent. So tired of Rocky mountains bs china cheap stuff, terrible customer service and selling shite parts. Love their videos, but they got to big for my britches.
Although i love to customize my bikes, there is the common sense point of view of how far you should go in “upgrading” your bike. I just seems that some of these upgrades go too far and is a waste of money.
I'm disappointed you let a,third party manufacturer and parts seller use your viewer number to do something squarely commercial. You are no loner independant and non biased. Big question mark. Use him all you want. Don't market him on your channerl.
Mike Spurgin is a hugely valuable and trusted resource with real integrity. Exactly the kind of person Ian should be partnering up with. And if they can mutually benefit commercially, even better. I'm already buying most of my parts from TM. If Ian can get a cut by helping promote Mike and his top-notch business,, even better. There are very few companies these days that I will go to bat for, but TM is one of them.
Mike Spurgin is the best. He was so helpful on my CRF450RL build. I went with the GET SX1 with Taco tunes and the Graves exhaust. Wow, what a transformation!
Thank you Ian for this very informative video. The content at Takamoto was fabulous. I have not seen the inside of a muffler ever before I learned so much. Do appreciate your channel. Loved it. Thank you.
No need for all that. Knock out the screen in the back of the muffler, remove the reed valve from the intake and set the TPI. Did this on my bike and it run's great!
@@BigRockMoto Just my "butt"dyno. I actually regret knocking out the mesh screen in the muffler. As much fun it is now it's too loud. Why add 20hp and then take it away and more with traction control?
Thank you for introducing me to this true Us company . I’m too old to be riding dual sports put still appreciate knowing company’s like this are still around . Reminds me of dealing with company’s like Wheelsmith in the70s .
I congratulate Mike on his determination to support his customer base w/USA sourced components. I recently installed a shark fin on my Beta, a known name brand (component made in the country governed by CCP) that I won’t mention, yes it needed further machine work to make it fit.
I was impressed with your business philosophy, until you used " Costco " as comparison, f y i I would caution you using Costco as comparison who is quite different than what you just described your business like .......

Mike is the real deal. I’m glad I got to see the shop I have partially funded. 😂
Honestly, I love giving my money to Mike and his crew. I cannot find many businesses that put out so much information on RUclips to really educate a customer, not push products and sales. They are also so laid back and cool to work with.
💯 this. Taco Moto and Mosko Moto get every bit of business I can give them. Service and the value they provide is second to none.
Taco moto is amazing. What a great philosophy in customer service and products.
Excellent video and mission statement from Taco Moto and Ian. I knew there were still trustworthy businessmen in the U.S.A. Thank You both!
I’ve had a great experience with Taco Moto. Mike and his team do a great job.

This is a crazy good video! Such a mountain of information. Thank You!
Glad it was helpful!
Not just helpful, also educational. So good.
Great video. Don't make us wait too long for future videos!
Heck yeah!
Congrats again on a badass machine!

🏍️💨
Taco Mike cares, has great customer service. Highly recommend. Let me know if you need to use my garage as a midwest warehouse.
great show, best explanation of mufflers ever. like Mike I prefer stock, less sound = more ground , cheers
Great video guys. Saving to my ktm 500 playlist to watch again!
Awesome, thank you!
Awesome video and thanks for introducing him to all of us!
Great stuff , love the passion and pride , buying the right stuff once because of quality is valuable and sometimes out on the trails can be priceless , thanks
Excellent video! Lots of great information!
I would like to see a shootout concerning all the handlebar mounts.
This would be a good start to "The Big Rock Pod" 😉😉😃
It's *"Helmholtz resonator"* , not "Heimholtz".
It works on sound at certain frequencies - to emphasize them like a guitar, or to damp them out.
Fantastic information. Just arbitrary modifications without knowledge of what really changes things like the exhaust .
Really great info. I've always advocated for spending $$$ on suspension, ergos, and then fueling.
I stereotype riders who throw on exhaust, spoke sleeves and graphic kits.

Well said!
Moto buddies! Great collaboration!
I wish everyone cared about quality over profit like this guy.
Such a rare quality. Mike is a great human being.
We have the same philosophy! Trash the crap! Stock only what works - WHAT WORKS Very WELL!
My 23 701 needs some tacos.
Regarding the ecu; how about doing a reflash of stock ecu? Pros/cons?
8:10 man, the storebrand push is really on the nose.
Even if i might trust YOUR integrity i sure hate how every retailer is building a nice closed fence around what you can and cannot get as a customer.
The rundown of features and counsel offered seem top notch
Great job
Excellent video. Super informative.
Thanks for this! It wasn't clear to me: With the modifications to the stock Husky exhaust can you keep the spark arrestor?
nevermind. the store page clarifies that it has a spark arrestor
Do you like this over your built 350?
Not sure yet
It's illegal to change out the stock exhaust in California or to remove any emissions equipment.
Very insightful. Great. Another place that will get my $$$$ lol
If I installed the end cap from TacoMoto plus the ultra silent insert, would I have to mess with the mapping? This would be on my 2024 ktm 500 exc-f
it won't add much power unless you change the fueling to compensate
If I change the end caps on my 2021 husky FE 501 S exhaust do I need to change the ecu also or just piggyback?
either will work. ECU is better.
I just seems that some of these upgrades go too far and is a waste of money.
but its others money so why not , freedom of choice, cheers
I mean, however much you want to. It's your bike, right? Do whatever the heck you want with it.
I'm disappointed you let a,third party manufacturer and parts seller use your viewer number to do something squarely commercial.
You are no loner independant and non biased. Big question mark. Use him all you want. Don't market him on your channerl.
🤣
Is this your first time on RUclips? 😅
I dont agree, this was great info such as how mufflers work, hey 15 + mins on muffler guts!

Interesting on the dampning. Double carpal tunnel. Good vid Ian. Like the American made objectives. Thanks
mike is the man and that new 501 is my dream bike!
Great company... just curious as to why and how you mike came up with the name taco moto? Now I want some street tacos haha
Is this guy your brother? Great 1 - 2 punch!

Did you dyno before and after? The ecu and exhaust mentioned here will add almost 20 HP and add tuning functions and also optional traction control.
@@BigRockMoto Just my "butt"dyno. I actually regret knocking out the mesh screen in the muffler. As much fun it is now it's too loud. Why add 20hp and then take it away and more with traction control?
Building the worlds first 30,000$ dual sport😮
if you can swing it why not and its also a way of showing what mods do (doesn't mean I'll drop that $ but cool to see)

Great format for a video, would love to see this for every bike tested. Unfortunately there's not a Taco Mike for every bike model.
Great video, very educational.
Mind blowing info and a reasons why certain riders win even with different makes as they sort these things to the max. Who knew! thanks.
Great philosophy, and on top of that Mike seems to be the nicest guy ever. Keep rocking!
Now this is love ❤️!!
I guess the Akrapovic wasn't mentioned because TacoMoto don't carry it?
Great products.
I think so too!
Very interesting video. Rare to find a company that genuinely cares about the customer and their experience with a purchased product.
The information you've provided in this video is amazing. Please continue to do some niche videos like this
Wish he would’ve discussed the fmf Q4 silencer
This was excellent
