  • This is a reaction video of the Australian rock band The Loved Ones performing two singles, "Ever Lovin' Man" from July 1966 and "Sad Dark Eyes" from February 1967. "Ever Lovin' Man" has very heavy organ reminiscent of The Animals. Also wait for the change up in the vocals. The vocalist would make Lou Christie proud. Wait for it!
"Sad Dark Eyes" again is something only The Loved Ones could record and release. The backing track sounds like it could be a UK trans-atlantic single from the mid 60's. Again, the vocals transcends the song onto a new plateau! Enjoy ...

Very good band Todd. The ''Magic Box'' album by The Loved Ones is a lost classic.

I remember these songs when I was a teenager in Australia. They were different.

Gerry Humphrys was one of the original great screamers. Amazing voice. I've asked vocal coaches to react but had no takers. So thanks for the reaction.

They were a jazz group that decided that they had the skills to put up something interesting. Jerry Humphries is amazing. Ever Lovin Man was the most outstanding song on Aussie radio by a local band in 1966.

The song The Loved One by this group was covered by INXS. Interesting to see INXS doing it

Sounds like a cross between 'Them' and Long John Baldry!

A very good band but never main stream.
The probably got more airplay in the 1990's than back in the day.
A bit like Little Green Bag by George Baker Selection. lol

Their songs got plenty of air time in Melbourne in the mid 60s. Their music was so different.
