Seeing Mickey go is such a bittersweet moment in this episode. But I guess we have to see it from his perspective that he's always seen himself as the 'tin dog' in the Tardis, at least in this universe he can have his moments to shine and see himself as a hero without seeing himself only in the Doctor's shadow (and being reunited with his Gran is a nice touch for him and for us to think about). Bless him :)
There was a deleted scene right at the end between Jake and Mickey were Jake revealed that he and Rickey had been dating, which explains why he took it so hard when Rickey died. I think it's a real shame it was cut, it was very short and added a lot to that relationship.
I THOUGHT I remembered that! It really did add a lot, and I thought I was just making it up because I ship all the time. Thank you for confirming that memory! Why the heck would they delete that? And what else have they deleted? What is Travis using -- DVDs? Hmmmm.... Anyway, thanks.
@@JulieAiken I believe it was deleted because of time constraints. It didn’t really add a massive amount to the plot and it was cut just so it could end on the right time slot or something, Jack was kissing and flirting with guys during series 1 and RTD the show runner at the time is gay, so it wasn’t because of it being a gay relationship, they just felt it didn’t need to be included for time.
One of my favorite Doctor speeches about the greatness of humanity, imagination, and feeling it all, the good and the bad is what makes us grow, what makes us human, I just love that!
Fun fact: the scene where they trip the emotional inhibitor was supposed to be much darker. Originally, the script said that the person inside the cyber suit was a child
7:55 nope they do feel it that’s the horror of cyber conversion unfortunately you feel it because cybermen don’t use anaesthetic 😢 and if they did they’d be for better 😅
I don't care about the actor's sexual orientation, but Jake and Ricky being a couple was great -- it gave the harder seeming Ricky (as opposed to Mickey) more relatability. Sigh.
Ah, yeah. I spent most of the time hating Mickey, and then these two episodes popped up and the boy did good, so I was sort of sad he was gone. Then again, I also wasn't, because if he'd gone back to the old life, I wondered if maybe he'd go back to the old Mickey. He's better with a cause and a personal investment in it. When it's just "normal" life, he has time to make fat shaming comments to Rose and do some jealous pouting. This way, he grows out of it.
Am I the only one who found Jack looked at Mickey as if he liked him or something? I don't know, at the end of the episode I thought they had chemestry

Why am I crying, I've seen this episode several times. Micky was a grower for sure.

Fun trivia fact, the actor who played Lumis was in a Harry Potter film where he played the father of a character played by David Tennant!
I knew I was supposed to know him from somewhere before 😂 😂
Roger Lloyd Pack. He was hilarious in Vicar of Dibley. One of my favourite British sitcoms. So I always enjoy seeing him play a villain.

Just realised that "Abive, between, below" is a call back to the 25th anniversary special The Five Doctors, back in the 80s.
20th Anniversary
What I want to know is how that Cyberman, which stomps as hard as all the others, snuck up on the Doctor and Angelina Pryce.
Plot shoes...
They had their legs on silent

ooo up to the age of steel.... such a good 2 parter
yesss, this is my favourite Doctor!!
Yeah, Mickey was growing on me too. He started off such a milquetoast, and now he's saving the (parallel) world. It's a shame they wrote him out.
The guy who plays Jake is gay and so is the character, it’s canon but the scene that explicitly mentions it was cut

Well welcome to the goodybe part! It's always kinda hard to see one go from this show, I know by now you know that by heart.

What fat shaming comments
i always thought that the cyberman that was on the stairs trying to get to them was jackie. all of them had their feelings back so is sad...
Which one?
@@rayanog the one that was trying to get up the stairs when they were escaping. that he cut the rope
@@katthie230 THe one on the rope had the third eye, so that was Lumis.
love watching doctor who with ya

It's canon that Jake was dating Ricky (the other Micky). They cut the scene where he tells them though.
@@emmaconnolly5738 oooh that makes so much sense !! They shouldn't have cut it !!
Don’t worry! We haven’t seen the last of Mickey! Big things are in store!
Don’t spoil it
Spoilers!!
