How to drive safely. How to pass
This video is filmed during a driving lesson. It is filmed for educational purposes.
Throughout the video there are highlights to show how you should be driving safely.
I hope this video will be useful! :)
#driving #lesson #howtodrive #practical #test
#hazards #roundabouts #London #drivinginstructor
#pass #drivingtips #femaleinstructor
#learn #dualcarriageway
I personally find lane discipline on a roundabout really hard if there's not good markings 🤦♀️
Yeah idk how I'll cope driving alone on those types of roundabouts my ADHD brain will be melted and I'll end up in France
If you're not sure go wider. I'll bet you're cutting across the inside?
This, same here!! I'm glad it ain't just me
same! I only got better when my area finally repainted the lines
A lot of roundabouts need redoing. I've been driving 3yrs an I hate doing them when markings ain't clear, because everyone seems to cut people up ECT.
In just 2 months and half I took my driving license with no professional instructor. I learn almost everything by watching your videos and driving my brother car. And i had only 2 minor mistakes on the practical driving test. You really help me a lot by explaining all the mistakes along your videos 🙏
You can do this Erin! Thanks Amin for your amazing videos, I passed first time yesterday with 2 minors and will continue to watch your videos. Rooting for Erin!
Passed my test!!!! Got my license a few weeks ago
After all this time on the channel I feel like we’re all really rooting for Erin now
At first her attitude was funny when she started her driving journey but by now she should of shaken this off, it does not come across very mature and it’s childish. People like this should not be on the UK roads Her attitude during this test stinks and as an instructor you should have advised her by now to take driving seriously.
Aman has told her to take things seriously in the past I think
True. And how annoying is it that she just disregards the safety questions because she prefers to take the minor? And Aman just had a laugh at that and the demister total unawareness instead of taking a moment to remind other learners who are watching that it's actually quite important to know the controls of your car (especially demisters during winter!)
busted out laughing at Erin's expression when told to practice the vehicle questions beforehand 😂😂
🫤
Poor Erin 😂😂
Think she needs to start taking this abit more serious, its like its a joke to her this behaviour on roads kills innocent people youve a good instructor there erin listen and be respectful
Which is why many experienced drivers should have a retest
Sits there with a gormless smile on her face, too busy wanting to look at the camera and then the eyeroll at the end was just rude and childish. If she makes those stupid mistakes and causes an accident in the real world, she'll just get decked in the face by someone. Then she will be looking stupid.
That "I would what?!" when asked to show how to demist the windscreen had me rolling hahaha
Erin could be a really good driver but, maybe I'm wrong, I get the impression sometimes that she isn't taking it seriously. Maybe it's just Erin showing a care free attitude when really she does care and is taking it seriously and that's fine but it's not what an examiner would like to see. I don't know if anybody else thinks that or it's just me.
Sorry but she’s not test standard.
I feel like she psych herself out a little bit before it even begins and it comes off like she doesn't care
She is. I’d rather see more calm students like Erin compared to those who work themselves up into a bundle of nerves. What you see as care free is actually the development of a good habit, especially when being on the road, and that’s staying level headed and cool.
@@Drivyaz77 that's why this was a mock test and not a real test lol
She needs to take the roads seriously. Her head appears in the clouds with a 'whatever ' attitude.
Erin is so funny without even trying haha
It's now actually fun watching "driving mock tests" after PASSING FIRST TIME recently!!!
same here, i passed first try on monday, only 1 minor
I watch driving videos more after I passed vs when I was learning
I passed last November and still enjoy watching these videos.
@@alexnotlandohow many hours did you do?
@@maryyyj1405 i had 12 hours of lessons
Just passed my test first time this morning! these videos are amazing help thank you so much for all the effort!
Excellent! 🚗
same
Congratulations
Congrats
Congratulations 🎉
Erin is a really sweet girl and can become a brilliant driver when she gets that self-doubt out of her head. Her only real problem is a confidence issue. If any young driver gets behind the wheel of a car believing that they are going to make loads of mistakes, then they will. Concentration, awareness and self-believe are top ingredients for success. The driving Instructor makes all the difference and is vitally important for that confidence boost to their pupils. Aman scores at peak level for this.
I agree with this comment so much. I’ve had trouble with awareness and concentration in the past but as soon as I gained confidence they come with it. Also, if you keep knocking yourself thinking it’s gonna be a bad lesson it probably will be so don’t do that and you’re good!
she's to aloof and blasse dos'nt pay attention everythings a joke she'll never pass
Yes although I disagree with a couple of serious fault shown here, I guess driving instructor's tactics and hints can vary a lot from a country to another.
Ok
Yeah that part was frustrating more than the mistakes
If Erin is going to be serious give her a mock test with someone completely different, your friendship and bond is amazing but she's too casual about it when she's with you, you need to be stricter slam the hammer of road side justice down on her!
I've been driving for 4 years and I love coming to your videos as it generally helps remind me of little things I forget. Love seeing Erin as always, she's a star
It's nice to see her developing as a driver.
Everytime i watch these, I am so thankful i dont live in the UK where driving seems to be some obstacle course set on hard difficulty for no apperant or practical reason.
It's there to create safer drivers which is why we have one of the lowest RTA's in Europe.
@@Goat.Herder You say that, yet living in Finland it's not so (imo) unnecessarily complicated and still rank at least in the top 5 or higher in all of Europe. And last I saw, Finland was significantly ahead of the UK in terms of RTA's, although things could've changed since covid.
@@Diego-de6dq To be honest the only obstacle about driving lessons in the UK is the person's nerves, the whole process is pretty simple.
@@Goat.Herder Sure but I'd argue there is a reason that the majority of RUclips driving lesson videos are based in UK. Obviously people and especially young people seem to be in need of more help there relative to other places. Also notice that you pivoted from obstacles being necessary to make safer drivers, to now saying that there are no obstacles, just nerves.
@@Goat.Herder As someone who lives in London, you are 100% wrong on this. UK driving test is absurd and only serves to make the DVSA and private driving companies more money. It doesn't create safer drivers, instead it drains bank accounts and just makes the learners more stressed and anxious.
The fact that there are 6 european countries that have a better quality of driving and road safety than the UK whilst also having a short and simple driving test just goes to show, it's not the complex exam that makes the driver safe, but the roads themselves.
I've been following Erin's driving lessons since I started learning in January , even now that I've passed (after over 50 hrs of lessons due to waiting for tests!) I'm still rooting for her !
Congrats 🎉
How many lessons did you take per week?
The way Erin side eyes you at 9:13 is just amazing 😂😂😂
I'm in disagreement, she was well within her rights to stop there - it wasn't too fast
You are getting better and better! Don't think that you failed, because that's the moment you will make mistakes. If you think you did, accept it and carry on driving the best you can. Keep on learning and you will pass with flying colors!!
Got my first car after passing my test today!!!! Your videos helped me so much thank you❤
She has a bad habit of coasting when pulling up, literally just goes straight to clutch even before slowing and coming to curb side.
Surely 17:20 was a minor at least. Driving wrong side of the road and cutting across the junction and markings.
the eye roll at 27:54 hahaha
Feel like Erin’s clowning about…
She's gonna ace it! I have faith!
Erin needs to take the driving more serious and take in the instructors advice.
The confidence will come, i started off learning really nervous but having a good instructor definitely does help with that. I passed my test a few weeks ago first time so you’ll get there Erin just takes time
Once there is no scrutiny....
How many hours have had you take every week ?
About the light before the roundabout at 9:00 . In my country (and I checked and it is the same in the UK), the law says that when the amber light is yellow, and your brake distance is less than the distance between you and the point you have to stop at (in this case, the white marking), then you must stop. Here Erin stopped just like that, and with not even that harsh braking, (you can see in the video how much your body moves forward and how much of Erin's does) the only (not fault-worthy) mistake she made was not smoothly letting the brake off at the final moment of the stop. So to give a serious fault for something that is lawfully required to do so is strange to me. If I'm incorrect please tell me, as I do not mean this as a personal attack to you. And just to not be all negative, your advice about looking behind for oncoming traffic before breaking is excellent, not many driver instructors tell you that.
There is a lot of pressure on learner drivers now! Erin is honestly doing amazing & should be so proud of herself !! Want her to pass so bad, but going to miss her in videos 💝
Her way to be less nervous is to make jokes
WTF I almost got ran over, my street is one way but many people enter it full speed on the wrong way. I swear one day I jump on top of a wrong doing vehicle for Insurance money
Is she ok
WELL DONE ERIN, DONT GIVE UP
bro said well done to 4 serious faults
Well its a mock@@t1crtz83
i know but i was saying well done for having a go@@t1crtz83
@@t1crtz83haha I lkowv
@@t1crtz83it was more of a well done for having the courage to try a mock test for the first time.
Go on Erin!!! We will both pass eventually..
White hart roundabout is terrible with cars drivers not taking the correct lane many times I’ve been nearly taken out by people whom can’t follow white lane markings
I think she drove quite well but passed on silly things which Erin should know. Erin obviously needs a few more lessons, she has the confidence to do a test. Well done though for the manoeuvre though.
at 6:00 Volkswagen Touran with registration plate LM20 OWE. I would send off the footage for reckless driving and cutting in at speed. 1st car Ford C-Max and registration plate LL63 YFY. Not as bad as the Volswagen.
💀
So she fails for stopping at a traffic light when there was no car behind but doesn't fail for blocking a keep clear...
the most important thing is to seriously listen to your instructor, jokes are good, but when you have such a good instructor, it's good to take all the advice into account !
it's just my opinion 😁
if erin can pass then there can be peace in the middle east
Aman probably thought she would definitely fail her first real test, I personally find it a miracle she was able to pass first time 😅 I wish we had her real test footage to see what actually happened.
When I see the title, "😅Erin's mock test," I know I have to jump in immediately hehehe
'de-mystify the screen' made me smile.
I’ll miss Erin😂❤️. She is a character.
There comes a point for every learner, they must take it a little more serious to get over the line.
She's losing motivation for this.
I‘ve past my driving exam exactly 2 years ago (in Italy, Milan) and had been driving since 1 year almost daily (car sharing and now my personal car).
I would argue that the “serious fault” while reversing (around 16:00) should be a minor. Since the car behind is waiting and, nobody is supposed to come on your right side. Even Bikes or Motorcycles would overtake on the right side of the waiting car. So Erin shouldn’t be worried too much on her right side/blindspot.
I know the rules aren’t what I believe to be right, but thinking of it, a “minor” would be more appropriate in my opinion, what do you think? 🤔
AMAN YOUR THE BEST INSTRUCTOR 💕 ... KEEP ON MAKING GREAT VIDEO.... BEST OF LUCK 💓
Hi Erin and others learning:
+Look as far up the road that you are on and you will spot hazards earlier.
+My driving instructor always use to say drive with a (purpose) like with energy and belief that you are a great driver.
+Lastly have fun! enjoy the process!🙂
Erin looking sick of it 😢
You know what You can do it Erin All The best ..... ACE IT ..... We are Waiting ♥
Sending love from South Africa❤
Look much further into the road for roundabout diagrams, road and lane markings. That way you can follow lane you want to correctly instead of cutting them.
Not gonna lie, this is pretty much a pass, especially when compared to everyone else on the road. I passed with much worse haha.
Having to do my theory test again after it expired middle of next month is dreading 😢
6:37 a very bad way to fail, lowkey
9:03 so in this situation she should have went onto the roundabout?
Her parallel parking is good, she needs to remember to this slowly and checking both blind spots 😊
19:48 Erin has good jokes 😅
i wish her a good safe drive for her test end of this month or next month.
We all want Erin to pass and make progress ❤
If your option is emergency stop or go through an amber light you should go through the amber. 👍
@@jonathanlawson5717 In Erin's case, there was no emergency braking. That was Erin's call to go or not to go. Either way, her action was legitimate and justifiable.
@@oneanywhere8561 She got a serious for it, which means that her action was not legitimate or justifiable. 🤣
@@jonathanlawson5717 Has it ever crossed your mind that an instructor or an authority can make a wrong judgment?
@@oneanywhere8561 She slammed on the brakes approaching a roundabout after accelerating without checking her rear view mirror. If you think she wouldn't have failed a test for this I don't know what to tell you. Amber means stop if it's safe to do so, otherwise lights would just switch to red. Just hope I'm never behind you on the road I guess.
5:54 What an absolute twat. The most dangerous thing about driving is other drivers. I feel sorry for drivers who have to come into contact with him, totally a guy ha. Good save Aman ,, '' he's so reckless.. I mean that person'' lol , dude you were right, it was a guy.
the lights are on but no one's home
how about explaining what would happen if she doesnt know how to demist her windscreen when she would actually need it?
Erin went into that test expecting to fail so she fail.
How long did Erin start driving?
0:16 lmao that look "you got a problem? I thought so..."
Erin really said “fuck these speed bumps, they don’t tell me what to do” 😂
I wonder how much swearing from ALL her pupils, Aman has to edit out. 🤔
At time I wanted to slap Erin when she gets the negative mindset. Like asking have I failed yet or oh no. Roundabouts lanes obviously need work. I don't know if would help but imagine you are walking with 2 friends holding hands and you all stay side by side and you've not to push them outside the circle or trip them up. Which is kind of what you are doing drifting into the other lanes. The left , left turn you got wrong. With the angle of the exit I would go slightly over to the right possibly over the line briefly. The aim is to get myself squared up to the junction. To then make the turn easier plus it gives a better view. If you think you've made a mistake forget it and just concentrate on the next part.
I selfishly want erin to keep doing lessons cus honestly she's so funny
Is she unbothered or just lost?
I still don’t understand what went wrong on her first roundabout if someone can please explain
Best thumbnail so far! Especially given the context that she is mid way parking while other cars are waiting for her, hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂. Wish the best for Erin!
They should make you do a walk round check ✅ of your vehicle before each lesson or test ...I know when i did my HGV driver 🚛 training ...you checked your vehicle every time...this should be happening with car driver training as well.... just a thought 💭🤔..
8:34 you explain the roundabout sign as white signs mean it's a B road and the Green equals an A Road. Not strictly true, although you are correct in this instance at the White Hart Roundabout. The Green background shows it is a primary route. whereas the white background is non primary and can be any type of road. A, B or unclassified. Love Erin's lessons. I failed my fifth test almost 30 years ago and gave up. something I often regret.
😄 Let's go Erin, I bet you did great!
Why did you not give a minor on first roundabout? No. left mirror check on exit?
The serious at 10:00 for the roundabout is pretty harsh. The road markings for her lane are almost entirely worn away. I have a licence and I can see myself making that mistake for the lane she wanted to end up in (behind the red car at the second set of lights on the roundabout).
Any tips for nerves apart from kalms and a 🍌? Good luck erin 👍
When reversing or parking its always best to keep thinking where is that car or pedestrain even if neither actually exists this way you can exagerate the turning of the head to show the examiner you are making appropriate observations
Erin be like: "I've seen the videos of us now, I know when Aman's doing a pouty expression at me" :D
Been watching your videos since I started my first lesson back in march- I had my test today and passed first time, your videos have helped so much alongside the lessons I took! x
"I instantly regretted my decision.." 😂. Shades of Anchorman.
She’s not taking her lessons seriously!!!
You need to put the time in to learn the show me tell me’s. They’ll set a bad start if you begin the test with that
Had she passed her theory yet?
13:29 I recognize this section. It's where Saima was also in one of the videos, if I'm not mistaken. 😁
PS I really like the camera view that's positioned in the middle of the central console. 😀
The parallel park control was pretty good to be fair.
Erin's, good smoothed driving? First official full mock test! #Roundabout#London. Be Proactive, awareness and observation. Looking for potential hazard. Expecting her to do well.( Look confidence, no nerves, relax). Wish well!💜
The visible frustration each time Erin makes a fault. 😂
So when that car was indicating right, should she have waited behind the car until it had turned?
I do have sympathy for Erin with the whole “Turn left and left again”, that would’ve gotten me very confused. I’m a dyslexic learner driver so I know that would play a part for me. But looking at the comments, I’m not the only one thinking that. But Erin shows some fantastic qualities, as soon as she starts to believe in herself, studies the show me/tell me questions and slows her manoeuvres down she can smash that test. Go on, Erin!
Praying I can join the “passed but still watching” gang December 14th 😂
Did you pass?
You got this Erin just relax and don’t give up
Can't wait
Erin honestly is me with driving 😂 the stop she did at that amber traffic light, I would’ve panicked and done the same!
Good smoothed driving? Be proactive, looking for potential hazard, awareness and observation.
Can’t wait
All Drivers, needs to learn the basics about there car , like changing oil, once a year and oil level ever 4 weeks to check there's no leaks, checking there Spark plugs to the battery are clean and Walter for the heater is not empty and all lights and indicators are working,, need to check out side the car to sea all indicators are working and brake light be hind are working this u need a nearthver person with you and reverse lights are working and brake ;light be hind is working and ties pressure and check there ties can grep the roads and check there window wipers are working and keep there car Clean , if any driver can not do this then thay should not have a car THE BIGIEST ONE IS THE MOT that needs doing as well . so many drivers do not get there MOT DUNE puts all arthver road users in DAGER thast the truth, its not just about getting into a car and drive it,, there more to the eye if you wont the car to Last you can not just depend on the dash board , that's the truth ,
Passed on the 10th car broke down on the 18th 😂
Mock tests are very important and this is an example of good practice. To make it totally realistic, would the examiner not have a notebook, comment sheet or clipboard? Surely she can't remember all the faults by the end. Maybe they don't these days in order not to distract the candidate; I passed my test in the week we introduced decimal currency(!) so I'm a bit out of touch. Erin will be a much better driver than many who've had their license for years and have become complacent. As an elderly chap, I find these videos amongst the most informative on RUclips and they certainly help me to remember stuff I really should know already.
She needs to do what Richard Fanders (Conquer Driving) does: at the start of the test get out of the car, then come back wearing a high-vis jacket, using a different name and with an alter ego like a grumpy old man.
Had my test today past first time with 2 Minors 🎉🤩🤩
How many lessons do you take every week????
Passed my test 2 months ago and I still love watching these videos 😂
Don't fret Erin, it takes 10,000 hours to become great at a skill, and you're on your way! Thanks for letting us view your progress! Thank you too Aman! I wish I had you as an instructor!
10,000 is a bit extreme
Probably going to be terminated :(
It will cost her a fortune
Is she medicated? 😂 Shes way too unbothered and unserious
