    Nice work on the 046. To be completely honest I was a bit surprised the 462 stayed as close to the 046 as it did. Especially running 8 pin sprockets since both saws in stock form are known for a lack of grunt on the bottom end. Nice video

      Thanks very much.
      I kinda felt the 046 would win. I tried to do the comparison as fair as I could. The 046 is maybe a little better now since it is fully broken in.
      I'm really happy with it being the first saw I ported. A little more muffler mod my help some. I was holding back doing that until it was fully broken in.

    You nailed it mr. Clint!!! 462 is about as strong of a stock modern saw you can find and the 046 just at its lunch! That’s a huge power increase from the 046. You catch on fast to this stuff but you luckily had 12 years of experience worth of fixing it from being neutered and correcting the port timing crammed into one saw with the old stihl 🤣🤣🤣

      The 046 is the first saw I ported. It is my favorite big saw, but the MS462 is a hot rod stock. I have a Husky 350 I ported also. I like is so much, if I could only have one saw it would be the 350. Cajun had input on both saws.

    Good day sir i like your videos. Great job on that 046. Runs nice. I could be wrong but it seems like your top plate angles may be alittle bit off left and right and your getting a little bit of bind in the cut. If so your cuts may get way faster if corrected. Like i said i could be full of crap but always willing to help if possible cause hand filing isnt easy.

    Hi can anyone help me with what the janka rating is with wood?

  • @kevinz763
    @kevinz763 2 года назад

    Try that 046 with a 7 tooth and see what times you get because you can hear when you in the lower side of log and you have full 32" buried it's down on rpm probably 2500-3000 rpms...and I just watched Buckin Billy Ray the other day and he was talking about 7&8 tooth sprockets....he's running some pretty hot saws and he said he preferred 7 tooth on his 372's with a 32" bar!!! To be totally honest I've always ran a 8 tooth on my stock 046 with a 24" but hopefully when I get my saw back from getting ported here in about a month I'll find our what's faster myself because I have a new 32" same bar as yours to try it out!!!

    • @ClintsHobbiesDIY
      @ClintsHobbiesDIY  2 года назад +4

      I've run 7 tanks through it with the 7 tooth. I put the 8 tooth on it to prove it would.
