Clint's Hobbies DIY
США
Добавлен 29 янв 2013
Formally known as Clint's Chainsaws & More.
I'm a retired Virginia country boy, that just wants to share what's happening in my world in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
I was raised to do for myself and have done so all my life. I sometimes tell myself I have spent all my life making something out of nothing.
I have many hobbies and my main hobby at this time is resurrecting old dead chainsaws.
Other hobbies are guns, reloading, bullet casting, making fishing jigs, hunting, fishing, leather working, woodworking, metal detecting, ham radio, antenna building, firewood and riding my Harley. I can't do them all at once. I just hop around and do what I want.
My savior is my wife Debbie. We have been married 48 years.

Good stuff 👌
Thanks Patrick. I like it better than the liquid that doesn't stay put.
Anchorlube is about the consistency of hand lotion. So, it stays put instead of running away or through the hole while threading.
Hope your well sir 🙏❤
Thanks Justin. We are good. I hope you are as well.
Had to watch video again just for one my all time favorite songs!👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏
I did that just for you.
Great choice in music 😂😂great seeing ya buddy!👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏
You are supposed to remove the seal on the inside
Yep. That's what I did.
I take the blame!! It is my fault.
Thanks very much Rex. i really like your respectful, positive no BS channel. Clint in Virginia.
I have bought and begun reading your book. I watch your channel every day as well. I love that you are a Christian woodworker. That loves the tools as much as the work. I feel the same.
Lol gotta love the thrill of the hunt tho
Thanks Brad. Rex is great positivity in a negative world.
How u know that ? Soak it in vinegar overnight then soak it in wd40 then soak it in barlube. You welcome
Some chains are not worth the waste of fluids. That one wasn't.
Subscribed from Finland! Happy hunting from a fellow detectorist! 😊 -The Unearther
Thank you very much. My wife and I are going to an American Civil War battlefield in December with a private group. I'll post a vid afterwards. I subed you also. Cheers from Clint in Virginia, USA
Yes heavy equipment loves to eat wallets ! As an operator and mechanic I can honestly say that! 😂😂!❤! Blessings to you for finding the mans wallet!
Thanks Jerry. It was a personal thing to find it. Not because I knew the guy, but because I understood how it would affect me if I lost mine. Cheers from Clint in Virginia.
🙏
🤟🤟
My daughter has a bluue heeler named daisy❤
Hi brother. We had a blue heeler named Brandi for 11 years. We have gone from having an angel to a devil.
well done on recovering it
Thanks very much. Cheers from Virginia.
😂😂😂
Thanks for looking.
This is Harley's daily routine. Thank you for the subscriptions, likes, and comments. Appreciate you stopping by.
😂😂😂what a mess! 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏
Yes, he is.
They make you feel like you're getting a long life design setup but its designed to fail just like the oe design.
Thanks. I agree' I call it the lightbulb effect. My science teacher told us in 1969 lightbulbs can be made to last forever, but people would only need to buy them once.
you can leave the seals and just dont worry about greasing them but the lifespan is way shorter. the reason for the large cavity of greas is to dissipate the heat through the spindle. and when you do go with the grease method. most of these have a grease weep hole. make sure its clean and only use a hand power gun and go slow till you purge some grease out of the weep hole. go too fast and it will blow the seals out of the bearing and the hot grease will leak out of the spindle.
Also lets the crap into the bearings ...sealed bearings dont need greased if packed well
3400 hours on sealed bearings Who wants to grease bearings every week
That’s a great idea. Thanks for sharing.!
Thanks for watching and commenting.
If they are sealed bearings they don’t need to be greased?
On most applications yes. Not on my Toro mower deck. Plus, they had very little grease in them when I removed the inside seal.
Yes sealed bearings can be greased! It takes time and know how . I've done this on my cars ! (@maniacal s10)
Somebody who went to school did that! 😅
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Hes right i bought a brand new at the time cub cadet lt1045 ...spindal bearing went out at 20hrs i replaced it but removed all the other bearing to find a finger tip oh grease in everything so i repacked all of them still have the mower 16 yrs later and they could use a replacement but nota must at the moment.. point being new or used pack ur own bearings and do so every other season or so and ur not replacing them constantly
Thank you very much for watching and the positive comment. Some do not agree with removing the inside seals and that's okay. it works for me. I grease them every other mowing. How about you? Cheers from Clint in Virginia.
You can buy them with a seal on just one side
Yes, but the seal can be removed with a pick in 3 seconds. My new spindle assembly had sealed bearings.
You’re accent is crazy thick
Learned this trick long time ago. Saved me hundreds!
Thanks. There are some that disagree. It works for me.
If you remove the seal on the top bearing, when the grease drops inside the housing it will starve the top bearing for lubrication. Funny thing, it turns out that if you leave the seals on the bearings, when you grease the spindle the grease will go past the seals and get into the bearing then the seal will hold it in there for quite a while. Maybe those schoolboys really did know what they were doing.
But if you don't remove the inside seal it won't take grease. I grease every other mowing.
Remove the seal, pack with grease, re-install seal. Brand new bearings don't have enough away imho, right or wrong I pack them as full as possible.
@@ClintsHobbiesDIY Do you grease the spindles until grease comes out the top?
@@huckbeduck I agree that new bearings don't have enough grease, sometimes if any at all, although you do need to leave a little bit of air in there with the grease in order for it to expand without blowing the seals off.
I work with sealed bearing all the time. The last for a long time.
He aint the brightest of the bunch 😂
I have also, but for whatever reason on a mower spindle I have no luck with them lasting. Thanks for the positive comment.
personally never carried my wallet on a construction or renovation project always leave in the truck
Me also. I put mine under the seat while detecting, cutting firewood, operating my excavator, etc. Cheers from Clint in Virginia.
Dogs are such a wonderful blessing
Yes. Once they grow up. Harley is 4 months old and very mischievous. Thanks for watching. Cheers from Clint in Virginia.
The urge to dig
Yep. There is no way to sweep the floor if he is in the shop. Cheers from Clint in Virginia.
I swear! Good looking pup!👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏
He is very mischievous.

Liked and subscribed good sir! I'd rather watch this than most anything else. Very very cool!
Thank you very much Gerald. I really try to put out honest no click bait vids. I'm sick of the lies and made-up trash that has become normal on YT. Cheers from Clint in Virginia.
@ClintsHobbiesDIY I totally agree! Hate when I watch a video and u can blatantly tell it's been set up.
@@geraldhencye8382 Definitely. It's like everyone else lies, so it's okay for me to do it also. I have un-subbed many and have turned off notifications on more. Just click the 3 dots on their vid to turn notifications off. I'm fighting back.
Might fine job!
Thanks very much. I think I did okay for my first time. I have a track off 3 more times since. Each time I could see what caused it until it had happened.
I’m thinking that door should open fully, if for no other reason to access the battery for service. Keep up the good work.
Thanks again. Since then, I had to replace the battery. It wasn't bad at all.
Also, the outside of the bearings is a pressed fit, but the inside of the bearings is not. If the inside bearing race starts spinning on the shaft it will cut a grove in the shaft. So, I center punch the shaft where the bearings ride. 6 to 8 center punches do me well. Thanks for watching, likes and comments.

Red clay have to be down south
Yes. Central Virginia.
Good job 👏 For those of us that have lost our wallet it’s a dark feeling and panic.
Thank you very much. Thankfully I've never lost mine. I have the habit of putting mine under my truck seat when cutting firewood, detecting, running my excavator, etc. I can imagine the feeling of losing one with driver's license, credit cards, etc. So, I was on a determined mission to find this one. I will never forget the feeling of relief when I dug it out of the ground. Cheers from Clint in Virginia.
If he had one of those metal wallets it would have been found a lot sooner
Maybe or maybe not. It was a very trashy spot with barbed wire and other farm junk. If it had been the only thing there, I may have found it in a few minutes., Thanks for watching.
@@ClintsHobbiesDIY Yeah you had to turn up your discrimination to 10. I have an old Radio Shack Discovery 1000 that could find things people lost. Maybe I should put up an advert. Could make a few $'s.
Yes. Once I turned the Iron Rejects up to 10. The billfold was the third thing I dug.
Don't know what bxx, blfs are try xyz or kiss...
You lost me with your comment, but thanks for watching.
Well done Sir❤never did you give up.Nice friend 😊
Thank you very much. I did search the day before. Total time was about 4 hours 15 minutes. I knew it was there and was on a mission to find it. Cheers from Clint in Virginia
