Hiya Ray. Couple of questions before I buy. 1. Will it only not play through my back speakers when using Bluetooth or will installing the kit take away all rear speakers functionality even when using a wired connection or DAB? Second question is how does one go about getting the microphone in without wired hanging out ? Cheers in advance

Love the fact that this is available without having to mess about with programming from Vauxhall. Is there anyway to make the sound play through the rear speakers as well? Surely only having the front activated would sound somewhat quiet?
Hi, Yes it's a great kit, nice and easy to install. Unfortunately its not possible to stream through the rear speakers (this is a hardware limitation rather than a software limitation) Seems to be loud enough through the front speakers though.

If not, there's any way to stream music with this model with blueetooth? IO know there's a kit that you must connect to AUX, but it's not what I want.

Yes at our Dundar workshop. Any auto electrician should be able to fit it in under one hour.
How do you take off all those panels without breaking the clips? That alone is what scares me from trying this. Does the trim tool really help?
Hello, The panel is actually quite robust and the clips do give way fairly easily. You need to work from the bottom of the panel and work up both sides, the trim tools do help as they allow you to lever the panel right at the clip.

@@julessaviour5931 there are quite a few clips on the panel so it would be ok without a clip or so, but as i say it's quite a robust panel if you are careful there is no reason it should break.

Question not related to the video but I spotted the Front passenger airbag activated (yellow warning) lit up (in the video (4:32), recently I bought a 2010 model and the light is always on just want to know is that normal? In my case it lights up then goes dull, then sometimes it's bright. Just wondering as booking the car in for an MOT soon. Thanks in advance!
This is normal, it's just to let you know the passenger airbag is active.

Hii. I have astra J and the stock stereo is the CD300 with the very thin screen not this one. I want to upgrade to the bigger screen. I found one on ebay, just the screen. If i installed it on the CD300 it will work or I will have to install the CD400?
The video could do with being a bit clearer when the plugs at the back are being fitted, perhaps with some audio over the top as well - it would make fitting a lot easier for your clients.

Have installed the system and all works fine. I've had a few comments about call sound quality on my end. Muffled/distant. I installed mic in centre light cluster as shown on the video. Would a-pillar mic installation improve this?
It may improve it, if you have installed the mic within the roof
console, you may need to put some sound deadening behind it as when you
are driving the air hitting the roof will resonate within the area above
the microphone leading to poor audio quality.
Also, check the manual as it gives you some settings to change the microphone gain based on distance.

Thanks a lot for your answer. Can I just ask one thing more: Do you know if the phone buttons on the steering wheel are readily wired even if they are not used in the particular configuration or selected features of the car in question, such as mine. Having to run wires to the buttons seems a bit steep.
Curious, is it easy enough to install? also in the video was the iphone connected with a cable to play the music or was that the bluetooth? bit hesitant as my car is only 6 months old.
Hi Michael, yes it is simply plug and play and the iphone was not connected with cable. Bluetooth audio streaming through he front speakers.

I have a Astra 2015 it has bluetooth capability, however, bluetooth is greyed out and states calls only when connected. Is this some scam vauxhalls pulling or am I missing something? I think it is a navi 650 with the big screen.

@@joshuaries556 i called up vauxhall and complained about the issue, I was given a free diagnotic check, I am yet to go and have it looked at and once i have a definitive answer, I will reply accordingly. Navi 650 does connect and sometimes disconnects whilst on bluetooth connection.
I noticed this in my gf's car, it has AUX port, and a button for "phone" but every time we press it, it just mutes and unmutes. Is this the solution?

Is there any limit of the # of the contacts in the phone book? How many can be stored? For me some of that is not appear in the car what is in my phone, and these are not from the end of the phonebook.
I've had my 2012 Opel Astra select for about 2 weeks now. It already has bluetooth fitted in the car. But I can only use it for making phone calls... Any idea how I would be able to make it play my music?

The existing steering controls just work through the kit. Nothing to fit or change.
Okay, so should I expect there to be a wire of some description coming from the steering wheel which is from the voice control rather than just the volume, which already works anyway?

Yes it will, the kit works with any Vauxhall/Opel Astra/Mokka/Meriva/Insignia with the CD300/CD400/CDC400/CD400Plus :-) and it will work with the steering buttons for answer and hangup, you can also make calls out using the menu on the screen through the front panel of the radio.

I am about to buy an Opel Meriva 2011 with CD 300. There is only a PHONE button but it doesn't have the Bluetooth system installed...And it also has the buttons on the steering wheel!
Can I upgrade it somehow? I want to use the CD 300 as a bluetooth hands free set because I don't want to install a 3rd party console like Parrot or Nokia hands free kit...

Hey! Can you connect a sub to this radio? Is it a output to this car? THANKS
The radio doesn't have a standard Subwoofer output, you can connect a signal converter to give you a low level output so that you can add a subwoofer and amplifier.. Something like an AudioControl LC2i would be ideal! www.raysmith.co.uk/audiocontrol-lc2i

Hi, It will play stereo, however only through the front speakers, we never invented it, just brought it to market, it's a neat solution :-)
