2015 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Review

- Full Disclosure: I already loved this bike before I ever even laid eyes on it. MV’s stunning Rivale got my heart racing and when I first heard they were considering a long-legged sport-tourer with an 800cc-Triple, I didn’t even need to hear its sublime “Turismo Veloce” naming before I knew I wanted one. Then came the aggressively voluptuous visuals followed by a long wait between the time we shot a video of the bike’s unveiling in late 2013 and this actual first ride in spring of 2015. Many of us began to wonder if the bike had been stillborn, the victim of some budget cut or other ignoble fate. Alas, our fears were simply due to our own high expectations and MV deciding to really take their time nailing their first ever touring motorcycle. Now it's time to see if that wait has paid off.

You can really tell they put a lot of thought into this bike. I own a Multistrada GT and even I'm envious of some of these features.

Also, don't know who wrote this, but it reminds me of a "Friends" episode when Joey discovers a thesaurus and uses it on every word of a letter he's writing. I don't think there's a single sentence here that doesn't have at least one unnecessary abbreviation and it sounds amateur to say the least.
Beautiful bike though, leave it to MV to make a gorgeous looking motorcycle!

nothinbeats2wheels I don't have to be able to do a better job in order to criticize theirs, if that was the case, no one would be able to criticize anything! But in this case, yes, I think I *would* be able to do better since they've done a poor job at it, and have set the bar pretty low.

Considering how 'peaky', sensitive, nervous, and lacking composure so many of MV's bikes have been lately, this opposite description is suspicious. I am wondering why specific engine mapping and chassis improvements over the other MV models were not mentioned...?
I rode it on a rainy seattle evening and found it to be wonderfully well behaved. I went out to a gravel parking lot and did walking speed maneuvers without feathering the clutch and in sport mode: perfect control.
My last bike was a Ducati ST4s and this bike is both much easier to ride and got more admiring thumbs up.
You can read in print reviews specifically what MV did to render the engine tractable. But in practice it rides like a dream. After my wife gets her new car this bike is MINE!

It's a beautiful bike, but it's priced too closely to the Ducati Multistrada. I'll take the Multi, please.
Ride before you decide. The MV is a very capable bike.
+dinonoce The Multistrada looks like a dog in comparison and doesn't sound nice either. Only benefits in going with the duc is proven engine reliability and possibly maintenance service.

A sport bike with bags would be better than this. They need to make this with 150 HP + if they want $25K...
A TOURING bike? That thing without any FAIRING???? NO way. I don't care what Agusta says, i'm not that gullible. Its an adventure bike, from the look to the seating position. I LOVE MV Agusta, but they just lost points IMO for trying to lie about the true nature of the bike. You guys (Augusta) wanna have a tourer in your line up? Fine! I'd be the first one to run and buy it. But dpn't pretend you have one when you don't!

what a piece of art. Definitely a winner! and yes, there are lots of fat asses who would try to ride a bike. Americans... hahahah It may not be too popular in the US, there is no V8 engine, 3 wheels and no cup holders!
This makes the competiton look boring, even Ducati. And all those GS riders, mannnn this thing puts a GS to shame in terms of style and soul.
