  • Situated in the Menomonee River Valley west of Milwaukee, Wauwatosa Wisconsin serves as a link between the bustling activity of the city's downtown, and the more quiet, relaxed atmosphere of its surrounding suburbs. Looking at Wauwatosa now, it has become a small city in it's own right, with a re-vamped area along State Street hosting several restaurants, apartment buildings, parks, and of course, bars. But running right next to and parallel to State Street, the double-tracked High Iron put in place by the ancestors of the Milwaukee Road is still firmly in place, now hosting the services of succesor CPKC, just as it had been intended. For crews running along this stretch of the Watertown Sub, Wauwatosa and the bridge that carries Harwood Avenue over the tracks at the west end of the city can mean either one of two things. The start of the stiff climb that is Brookfield Hill, moving up and away from the Menomonee River all the way to the CN Diamond at Duplainville where it finally levels off, or the end of the descent down the hill into the valley, and perhaps a breath of relief pending upon what kind of train they might be moving. Regardless, the parking lot underneath the bridge, as well as "The Little Red House", Hoyt Park, and Hart Park are just a few of the great places in and around "Tosa" to catch the action!
Come along as we view catches in and around Wauwatosa, spread out over a five year period from 2018 to 2023. There is an emphasis on EMD products; SD60s, SD40-2s, rebuilt GP22 and SD33ECOs, even an ex-Conrail SD80MAC before NS retired the fleet of AC Traction "Monsters" from its roster. Of course, the usual GE products are present, as evidenced with the "Vancouver Olympics Unit" leading a westbound tanker haul beginning its climb into Brookfield Hill. Last but not least, we close with Amtrak No.7, the westbound "Empire Builder", with eight "PVs" riding the rear, destined for the Twin Cities and the 2018 AAPRCO Convention!
Enjoy Everybody! There is plenty more to come!
P.S.:...Thank You ‪@BalticFilms144‬ and his crazy antics for the outtake........hehe.
