Thanks Spencer. What I really hate about clipping masks in illustrator is it loses any fills, strokes or effects once you hit 7 and sometimes even adding new stroke or fill doesn't seem to work or you're limted. Macromedia Freehand handled this action much more easily.

Coming from Photoshop, this is incredibly unintuitive. This video makes it look easy, but good god. I'm fighting with using text as the mask for a vector file. It's hell.
