I used to have Sindys when I was a child and I happen to visit this report on Sindy doll collection and I became nostalgic about the whereabouts of muy dolls. Haha I love it!
Yes she is back! She first came back a year ago, but they were more expensive high quality collectors dolls for adults. The same company Kids Kreations, with license from Pedigree, has now made the new range of cheaper playline Sindys that arrived in the shops 4 days ago. Are you in the UK? Are you able to get hold of the new Sindys? If not, in the Sindy collectors groups on FB people are helping each other out with buying them to post to international collectors. Do you still have any of your childhood Sindys?
Oh my goodness wow I love it and I'm so glad to hear you still collect you must have so many now I adored my Sindy dolls I used to play all day with them in the Sindy house.❤❤
Nice Sindy Doll Collection:). When I was a little girl my Grandfather bought me a Sindy Doll to cheer me up when I was sick. I still have my old Cindy Doll from the Summer of 1978.

I wonder if she’s still got her collection today ? I had a Sindy ballerina in the 70s my darling sister snapped her in half she didn’t mean to 😭😂 my mum couldn’t afford the house extra I’d beg her for years then when my younger sister whom is 6 years younger than me we got a sindy house each with all the accessories and guess who played with theirs more and it wasn’t my little sister it was me! 😂😂 fast forward years later im now collecting again old and new houses and sindys ect I so love Sindy Barbie never did it for me
I'm not much of a patriotic kind of person by nature (though I could NEVER live in a Republic) but I've always preferred Sindy to Barbie, because she’s British - and looks it. But more importantly. she still looks more like a 'girl' Doll; what I mean is, Barbie looks too much like an ‘adult’ (too mature in looks) to me; and somehow for little girls I think it’s just a little too grown up and inspires less imagination. Sindy will always outdo Barbie for me!
She was based on Tammy ! In 1963 Pedigree in England made an agreement with the Ideal Toy Company to use the Tammy mold for Sindy. So the very first Sindys looked a lot like her but they changed the shape of Sindys mouth and did the hair differently. From 1968 on the style of the Sindy doll changed a bit, and continued changing through the 70s and 80s. By 1975 she had a fully active poseable body. Unfortunately Tammy did not change with the times, with either her fashions or the way she was made, so she did not last as long as Sindy.
I love the collection! I never knew there were so many accessories!
