Very nice install Paul. I’m looking at a wicked root grapple from EA Attactments That one has grade zerk on the cover. Thanks for the video. I have B2601 and love it.
The guys had EA makes a great product. You can’t go wrong with them Wayne. The one you see here in this video was bought at our local Kubota dealership. They’ve been good to us over the years so we try and support them when we can. Merry Christmas to you and your family
Nice to meet you, my name is Tractor boy! I'm a Japanese. I've been watching your snow removal movies everyday. Thanks for give me many exciting. you really made my day. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you for reading it through.
Hello Tractor Boy. Very nice to meet you. I'm in Newfoundland, Canada and I'm happy to know you like my video's. Thank you for saying so. I hope you like my other video's as well. Good luck and happy tractoring :)
Paul!! I watched the whole video 3 times! I’m getting my Kubota BX 2360 tomorrow and the grapple is a high priority. You have the only step by step video that I could find after hours of searching. Thank you for taking the time and making such a complete video.
Watching your video's encourages me to do a few simple mods on my 23-70....It sure could use a little toolbox and chain storage for starters...I am a real rookie with tractor operation, but after 235 hours, I'm staring to feel competent with the basics!
Paul, So much of what I do on my BX25D are based on all of your great ideas which are well translated in your videos. While I don't have a grapple just yet, I have the 60" plow which needs a hydraulic cylinder in order to tilt from left to right. After adding the 3rd function valve the way you did and connecting them to the plow lines, I'll be able to change the plows direction from the seat rather than hopping off performing it manually. Adding the hydraulics to the blade seems pretty straight forward so all I'll need to do is select the correct cylinder and mount it in the provided location. I'm not sure if if you've done the cylinder mod but it would be a great one to add to an already invaluable list of great videos. Keep up the great work Paul and never forget to thank the lovely assistant behind the camera! Bob
Thanks Bob. Happy to hear you’ve got some ideas from our videos. Kathy appreciated you including here as well. Your idea seems like a well worth mod that’s for sure. It would have been one that I would have done but our BX is only used in the summer months. We have our 5740 for the winter months. Merry Christmas to you and your family. flic.kr/p/21xyv27
I had watched this video some time ago. This weekend I picked up the grapple and did the install. My grapple would only work when I actuated the curl function on my bucket. Watching your video again, I had tapped into the wrong port. Oops. Once I figured that out, just did a quick change and VIOLA! Thanks for this, and many other useful videos.
Paul, I saw this product for the first time somewhere just a few days ago. I was wondering what the level of difficulty would be for this product... You made it look easy but I know my limitations...lol Thanks for the video and it will be interesting to see how this implement holds up to real world use. You are right about the directions...sometimes when installing these products you need to look at your own "real world " applications. Thanks for doing this install video! Glad to see you and the wife made it through the foul weather ok.
Now that you have the 3rd function, a good investment would be the BX 2767A snow/bulldozer blade from Kubota. With the 3rd function you could rise, lower, tilt and curl the blade all at the same time. I am working on these functions on my 2767 , but haven't finished it yet. I will find the valve installation of great use as I go along.
Bill normally I'd do that but I have the Kubota 5740 with cab and I use that unit for snow clearing. I'm just not tough enough to go out in the cold without a cab and heat lol. Glad it might help you out. Cheers.
I wish I had ordered my Kubota 4240 GST with third function installed. Didn't think of it at the time. But I do have 3 rear remotes for future implements. Well thought out Paul. Keep the videos coming. :)
I had one on the 4240 cabbed HST tractor then put one on the 5740 as well very nice option to have. 3 remotes is nice to have too! There's another video coming. It should be up in a few hours. Thanks for commenting.
I have the Bx25d and I have a Landpride 3rd function valve kit. How did you determine to use the steel line on the right? Which they say if you have a backhoe unit that you can not use the steel line on the left. So if I use the one on the right that’s ok because according to landprides directions I need to see a dealer. Please advise me.
Paul, have you ever heard of Swenco Posi Lock Connectors? I use them a lot and find they are very quick and reliable. They have wire taps, connectors, fuse holders etc. Give them a look see.
Wow, I can't believe the packed the solenoid in a bag like that, that's a pretty expensive part to be treating so flippantly. Hopefully someone at land pride will see this and respond accordingly.
Paul Short Yea, not good. I had a vendor QC slip up once when I bought my power steering kit for my B7300, one of the hydro lines wasn't crimped. (I didn't notice it, and it blew right off when I applied flow.) The vendor offered to send a one right out though. I declined, as we have a shop in the area, and I just had a line made up. I can understand the missing parts, but I can't understand the nicks and dents. That is not acceptable.
Hi Paul, I just got the same Landpride 3rd function valve and grapple you installed on your bx. In the instructions it shows to connect to the left side of the power beyond port behind the right rear tire. Why did you connect the line to the right side of the power beyond port?
I haven’t researched these things in a long time so I wouldn’t know. I know Land Pride was purchased by Kubota so I’d start there if I were you. Everything Attachments made good stuff but they are going through some hard times these days so I’d wait to see how they work out. Thanks for watching.
Hi Paul, I am getting ready to install a 3rd function on my BX23s with a backhoe attachment. I noticed yours has a backhoe attachment. Did you need to do anything special with the Power beyond or inlet feed for the backhoe when you installed this kit. I was getting confused with some instructions that I needed to hook directly to my inlet feed on backhoe?
Not knowing what 3rd function system you have the only advise I can offer is for you to call or email the people that supplied you with your 3rd function valve. People ask me so many vague questions it’s impossible to give them an accurate answer.
I think you probably shouldn't put all you lights through a relay because if you are on the side of a road helping someone and you want to turn your engine off but not your warning lights or head/work lights then you can't. You end up burning fuel. However I think its a good idea for head lights.
Aidan Deslippe Well up here the first thing that would happen to me on the side of the road with this tractor is Id get a fine for being there and have it towed away. We're not permitted on the road unless the machine is fully insured and licensed and this little BX isn't. That being said. I'd never want to shut down my machine on the side of the road in fear I would not get it to restart. The emgerency flashers are useable on the tractor with the key off as well which is the way they are all designed to do. I think doing it the way I have it ensures that I won't leave a light on and kill the battery which is far more likely to happen than having it on the side of the road which will never happen.
Paul I have watched several videos showing the installation of third function, why is the unit not installed at the front of the fel near the bucket tip tilt hydraulic piston. It would require less hoses and just need a simple wire disconnect near the fel disconnect.
As always Paul you do great work and why men do not follow all instructions because we can do better sometimes without. Great mod but again I would really be interested to see how you did your ax and saw mod. I would really like to install somewhat the same on mine. Thanks for the great videos and ideas.
In the video, you took the power beyond to the 3rd function valve, and back to the pipe that was connected to the power beyond. Does this mean when the valve is not energized, hydraulic fluid is avail to the remaining implement actuators, and not when it is actuated?
That oil barrel that you put in your dump trailer are u going to throw that away because if not I only live down the road from your shop and I use them for burn barrels could u get back to me please
This was just weird, I've had them pixelate at home before (On my crappy connection) but never had a problem at work. And I'm set to 'auto' so it would have dropped down if I was having a BW issue. I hit a video after this one, and it worked fine, and came back to this one and it was black. Its working for me now though. I've just never run into that before.
@12345NoNamesLeft it is we're the hyrdrualic fluid is directed after used in the loader, that what I believe it does. If I am wrong please correct me :p
Paul is there anyway that a guy could take his rear hydraulics from the removed backhoe and attach some sort of valve to the loader bracket and run hydraulic lines on his BX to use the grapple other than buying this third function valve. Use lines from kubota at the right lengths to go from the rear of tractor to the loader brackets and have a single valve and then install his own lines to the front grapple and use them when needed and remove these lines and valve when the normal bucket is used? Thanks
I just picked up the quick tach and got the 3rd function installed I have to wait for the grapple to come. But the question I have is is there a pivot pin that comes with the grapple or was the quick attach supposed to come with spare pins?
Don Fletcher, Sr. We source them out from different places because there's no one place that has everything. It could be from a local shop or even eBay.
U DID A VEDIO ON HEADLIGHTS FOR THE BX. I HAVE A 24 HP. N/H AND HEADLIGHTS R 2PRONG. COULD U TELL ME WHERE U GOT THEM FROM AND THE NUMBER FOR THEM. TKS FOR THE INFO.
hate to break it to you... 90% of the stuff Landpride has is made in china... assembled in America... used to all be made in America but they got to big and outsourced... and I believe were sold...
Yeah "Made in" and "Assembled in" are the same thing to them.... they do it here in Canada aswell... only a certain % needs to be from America or Canada to be "Made in" designation... sucks
the power beyond port can take backpressure, the "out" port can't. when you need to add a new valve on a hyd system, you need to connect it on the PB of the existing valve.
I don't post much in the forums anymore. Not enough time in my day to keep up with it so I'm basically dealing with RUclips right now. All the BX items are copyrighted and or have a patent pending on them so you won't see a " How to" video on it.

Lol. Having a ball 😂 Thanks for watching
Thanks for the detailed install Paul. One thing you may consider is create a shield to protect the solenoid. Top notch again. At-A-Boy!!!!
Thanks Chris. Ya I'm fabricating an aluminum cover for it but got to do a few more mods before I get to it. ;)
Paul!! I watched the whole video 3 times! I’m getting my Kubota BX 2360 tomorrow and the grapple is a high priority. You have the only step by step video that I could find after hours of searching. Thank you for taking the time and making such a complete video.
I know I am kinda off topic but do anybody know a good place to watch new series online ?
@Hassan Ruben I dunno I would suggest Flixportal. Just google for it =) -raiden
@Raiden Patrick thank you, I signed up and it seems to work :) Appreciate it!
@Hassan Ruben No problem :)

+Paul Short Since you removed hydraulic lines. did you have to bleed system? And if so, how did you do this?

Sorry I missed this question. The answer is no. Most all hydraulic systems self bleed so your good to go.

@@pauljelen2330 did you get answers about this PB connection
@@jimpilgrim2271 No I did not
You fine sir have just saved me $300 bucks from having the dealer install it!!! Thank you, I will be doing this myself.
That is sooooo cool. Glad it helped you out. If you have any issues just ask away. I'll be around.
Paul Short I will ask away if I run into questions! Be a bit before I get into it, gotta warm up a bit. Thanks again!
yes by, sunday night was horrible in cbs here, and we just got a big dumping of snow tonight, hope you didnt have any damges over there!
By The Lord tunder'en it's been some winter by lol. No damage but man that was dome wicket wind. Hope all was ok on your end.
Great video. It amazes me how people can figure out how to do this stuff with all the wiring and what not haha
I just subscribed because I hate those blue blade connectors too. We call them scotch locks.
Lol. Thanks Dave. 👍
Very informative video. Thanks Paul and Kathy.
Thank you from both of us ;)
thanks for the video Paul, always very informative.
Thanks man ;)

Wow, I can't believe the packed the solenoid in a bag like that, that's a pretty expensive part to be treating so flippantly. Hopefully someone at land pride will see this and respond accordingly.

I'll have to try back, so some reason I'm only seeing a black screen. (The audio sounds fine though, and the thumbnail is visible, probably just me.)
It takes more time to view the higher resolution videos, if you go low res, you may see the video.

I have no idea.

I did. You had asked where to buy one!
i asked if it's delrin or nylon. edited my question when i saw someone else already had asked.
+kevin scurlock
Built from Delrin.
Hello Paul
maybe I missed this part but did you need to add more hydraulic fluid to make up for extra lines , any bleeding ?
thanks Ray
Yes but maybe only a few quarts (leters if your in Canada) no bleeding necessary.
hate to break it to you... 90% of the stuff Landpride has is made in china... assembled in America... used to all be made in America but they got to big and outsourced... and I believe were sold...
They lied? It says "Made In The USA"
Yeah "Made in" and "Assembled in" are the same thing to them.... they do it here in Canada aswell... only a certain % needs to be from America or Canada to be "Made in" designation... sucks
What do you mean by "power beyond"
the power beyond port can take backpressure, the "out" port can't. when you need to add a new valve on a hyd system, you need to connect it on the PB of the existing valve.
What's the new mod going to be?
Looking forward to seeing it.
would that a b series paul ?
No it won't but Land Pride do make one for the "B" series. It's the next size up from mine.
he has a hydraulic lift why would you use jack stands and crawl on the floor
Because a tractor can’t be put on a two post lift safely.
THE TRUCK NOT THE BX
would that fit
sorry.
I knew what you meant lol No it won't fit the "B" series.
Where did you get the chainsaw mount??
Wesley Thomas
Designed, fabricated and mounted by me ;)
