  • There are a ton of big time quarterbacks headed to the 2024 NFL draft, but none may be as big of a deal as Joe Milton when it comes to arm talent. After a whirlwind career at Michigan, Joe settled on Tennessee and saved his career. Now he is a boom or bust type draft prospect who could be the steal of the draft if properly developed by the New England Patriots. Today, let's talk about Joe, his rise and what we can maybe expect, enjoy!

Most people say that he will never be more than a camp QB/ Scout team guy. But I think he could be a good Backup and a Bridge Starter over time in the NFL. Just needs a lot of work to develop his craft. I also hope that the pats just dont give up on this young man. He will be a good backup for us when he is a pats qb but he could be a solid bridge starter with his abilities. Similar upside to Bo Nix who was drafted in the first rd smh

QBs with strong arms but sub-par accuracy require (1) multiple speedy receivers who can get wide open on deep routes and (2) stout O-lines to give deep-ball plays time to develop. Unfortunately, the Patriots currently lack both of those. Milton is better suited to be Caleb William’s backup on a Chicago squad that has both.

They don't have to wait to use him. Design ( I wouldn't call them trick plays) plays to fool teams of what he's going to do. Like, they put him in as Quarterback for just one short yardage play. And he runs it. That's it for the day. Next game is the same thing. Carbon Copy. Maybe one more game like that. All teams see this. They are ready next time. But this time he has huge protection to the right. And lobes it to the opposite end zone corner. Where are fastest Wide Receiver Catches it for the touchdown. Next time he's the receiver. Think outside the box.

I don't have his childhood stats on how many times he actually caught up to them or what he did when he maybe or maybe didn't catch up to them during those spring leagues. I do wonder tho if he ever did catch one or more, and if he did, was he satisfied with just being by it's side, or did he reach down and grab it and snap its neck. Only then to exclaim with screams of celebration, his superiority over the field rodents and neighborhood felines. The that made the video made mention that hobby contributes to his dark horse, x factor ability.

The Patriots just cut Nathan Rourke. So they now have three QBs on the roster: Maye, Milton and Zappe. I look at Milton as a good practice squad player for now and possibly some insurance in case Maye doesn't pan out.
But I do think Drake Maye will be a great QB for the Pats as long as they bring him along the right way. There's no reason to rush him out there if he's not ready and if the offensive line isn't good enough to protect him properly. The last thing the Patriots need is to get their franchise QB injured because they put him out there with an incompetent O-line.

I hope this kid succeeds, but his chances aren't too great with the Patriots. Their offense is dookie and they have zero elite skill players on that side of the ball to help developing QBs. Maybe that will change in the next couple years, however for now Milton and Maye are not set up for success in New England.

Honestly, some of us in Patriot Nation wanted the Pats to trade the third pick and pick up Milton in the 2nd round or lower. Milton is the guy. Think this breaks perfectly for Milton because all the pressure is on Maye. If Maye is legit, he should be the starter coming out of training camp because he is the 3rd pick in the draft. If he doesn't start, that hurts him especially if Milton gets reps in training camp and shows he has the skills to play in the NFL. Quite frankly, I don't think Mayo cares which one it is. Mayo wants to win, needs to win, and so whoever gains his confidence by playing well in training camp will be the starting QB.

Hah, like what are you talking about. Milton is the same size, has a cannon arm, is as athletic, played Alabama regularly not Campbell University and is doing well in Rookie Camp. Let's see how both Maye & Milton handle NFL defenses in camp and the pre season. I don't like Brissett. Belichick and his defenses have owned Brissett since he left New England. Hoping Mayo gives Zappe a full chance. I think he can pick up Van Pelt's system and be the bridge QB if neither Maye or Milton show they are ready to be the starting QB out of training camp like Mac Jones did his rookie season.

He's the best chaser of rabbits we've ever seen in college football for sure. Mac Jones in college was a pathetic 28-2 and only completed 77% of his passes his senior year, with a pedestrian 4,500 yards and an embarassing 41 TDs. I mean, when you really look at how shitty he is in comparison to a guy that can chase rabbits like a son of a bitch, you really get a viewpoint of a person that evaluates players like yourself. Just look at how pathetic Jones was in college and compare him to The Catman, himself.
Mac Jones's Losering loser college resume:
1st in FBS history in passing efficiency rating in a season: 203.1 (2020)
1st in FBS history in completion percentage in a season (min. 150 attempts): 77.4 percent (2020)
1st in FBS history in yards per attempt in a season (min. 400 attempts): 11.2 yards (2020)
1st in the FBS in passing efficiency rating in 2020: 203.1
1st in Alabama history in passing yards in a season: 4,514 yards (2020)
1st in Alabama history in passing yards per game in a season: 347.2 yards (2020)
1st in Alabama history in yards per play in a game (min. 20 attempts): 14.9 yards (Oct. 3, 2020 vs. Texas A&M)
1st in Alabama history in completions in a game: 36 completions (Jan. 11, 2021 vs. Ohio State)
1st in Alabama history in single-game completion percentage (min. 30 attempts): 80 percent (Jan. 11, 2021 vs. Ohio State)
1st in Alabama history in single-season completion percentage (min. 50 completions): 68.8 percent (2019)
1st in Alabama history in single-season completion percentage (min. 200 completions): 77.4 percent (2020)
1st in Alabama history in consecutive completions: 19 completions
2nd in FBS history in career passing efficiency rating in a career (400-499 completions): 197.6
2nd in Alabama history in passing yards in a game: 475 yards (Jan. 11, 2021 vs. Ohio State)
2nd in Alabama history in passing touchdowns in a season: 42 touchdowns (2020)
