The fact that fanatics can influence nfl player contracts to this extent is example 2 for getting rid of them. The NFL should be ashamed that an external company can make them look bad
This is what it will take, protecting the shield is the most important thing to the NFL. Once something they support gets bad press they'll act.
You’re right, but there’s a reason fanatics paid 4x the next bidder. They did the same thing in basketball and baseball. It’s a tough sell if you’re the NFL to fire a customer that’s joyfully “overpaying” for uniform rights.
(It’s a little more complicated than that because Nike is the one paying but fanatics is in with Nike, but the point remains.)

Agree with the Harrison’s on this. Not needing the fanatics money as a sophomore allowed him to really look at the contract. Didn’t like it, so he didn’t sign. No doubts they’ll work out a deal in time.

The Florida lineman he’s talking about is Gervon Dexter. Gervon signed a deal that gave him a one-time payment of 436k in exchange for 15% of his pre-tax NFL contract earnings every year for 25 years. The deal they signed violated a law in Florida at that time that stipulated a contract could not extend its duration past college, however, that law was later updated which removed that clause. The deal currently still stands but Dexter’s lawyers are petitioning the deal and asking a federal judge to void the contract, as the law, at the date of its signing, prohibited its validity.

That 25% on all future earnings is ridiculous. Some parents are at fault also. We have to educate ourselves or hire someone who does. I know it’s not that easy when your living state and environment standards aren’t the best but damn.

Fanatics, in my opinion, should have contracts for these college students while they are in college and separate contract for when they reach the NFL. It could be a win win for both sides
College NIL deals should be 2 way deals like you have in the NHL, you have 1 salary is you’re playing in the AHL (college football) & a 2nd salary if you’re playing in the NHL (NFL, and based on your draft pick it tiers the salary)
If he never signs, becomes an all time great than sign it during his fairwell tour last season them jerseys going for HUGE resell.
What is really sad, is every 18 year old gets the same high interest rate. They don’t have millions coming to them to pay it off. This is a country problem that needs to be addressed by the government but never will.

Where the game gets repackaged and rereleased every single year with no changes and get to charge 20, 50, 100 bucks more depending on what addition. I’m not one to blame workers for thing but if you work at either of those companies I’m my eyes you genuinely don’t deserve any basic human respect. Even if you just edit or do the graphics. If you help their games you are bottom of the barrel for humanity if you ask me. These are games that are designed to make kids want to use money that isn’t there’s to try and risk getting good things in game… ie gambling. Something that’s completely illegal for underage people to do cause it’s as wildly addicting as drugs. If I ever met anyone and they told me yea I work for 2k or ea I would genuinely look them dead in the eye and spit right at them. Take whatever punishment comes after no problem. Fanatics is a terrible product aswell. NFL shop Europe has a monopoly on jerseys on the UK (unless u want Mahomes from JD) and they are terrible. The JD jerseys are sewn badges, will last ages. The fanatics ones are poor quality print. My first jersey came and was already peeling. Sent it back and they refused to fix it. Then tried to get a Super Bowl jersey. Waited 4 months to be told they had oversold the pre-order. Then I got the same jersey with a different player. IT CAME WITH NO NAME ON THE BACK.
I now refuse to buy jerseys from them. Meaning I cannot buy jerseys in the UK. NFL needs to shake this deal up and allow some competition

It's all good when you sign the contract and get paid. Nobody makes you sign anything. This has happened enough that no one should be surprised with the consequences of a contract that you now think isn't fair.
