Ginki is the most intuitive Mom that knows she needs to eat for 2. I love to watch her nurturing Kintaro, at the same time protecting her new baby & herself from run by, drop down attacks of Gentaro.
Genki She's a great mother she must be careful because Gentaro is curious and even jealous. Poor Genki needs a lot of rest
The little Kintaro is still so innocent in the arms of he's Mother.

She really is a wonderful mother. When she's about to give birth, is she moved to a separate area, where a Doctor is present, in case of complications?
I could imagine how the first year Genki could not get enough sleep because of gentaro. She really have to stay awake 24/7 to protect kintaro. A great mom 👍🏻🥰

Genki is such a good mother it a amazes me how she pats the baby on the back like a humane mom does to her baby.
I underestimated how slow baby gorillas grow. He is so cute and tiny. Mom had her hands full with jealous Gintaro.

@Michelle Jackson When you are breast feeding, the Mom is always hungry. She needs her intake of calories to feed quality milk to Kintaro. Gorillas nurse their young up to 2-3 years old.

I wish that too but unless a zoo is willing to put a female with Gentaro, he will be moved to a all male teen group. I wish another zoo could see what an extraordinary smart loving family this is!
You know Genki was stuffing her mouth before Kintaro was born and she has never stopped stuffing her face with grass or hay or sometime a treat or two the keepers give them. I feel so sorry for Gentaro , he doesn’t understand why mom has got her baby brother in her arms and won’t let him get to play or touch him. Jealousy is a little rough on her cause she loves both her babies.

Did mum play with gentaro before she had a baby, he wants to play, but also help her with the baby, she suddenly has stopped giving him attention and he doesn't understand why.

Her arms are not fat and hairy.. She's a gorilla not a human. And she's probably strong enough to kill you if you came face to face.
Don’t worry about Genki, she finally gets tired of Gentaro and his torture of her and she sends him a winding. This teaches Gentaro that moms had enough of his grabbing her arms and tries to touch his baby brother and when he bothers her she just slaps the hell out him and he leaves them alone.

I never understood why Momotaro never helped Genki and put Gentaro in his place. He really gave her a headache wanting to touch Kintaro. Poor Genki she's such a sweetheart😇🙊🙉🙈

She self harmed when she lived at the place before this. The way I understand it is there were a few females and the one silverback and she was very stressed over the other females being liked by him more then her!
Genki has two sons .she seemed to forget that once the new one came. She has also pushed him away many times when Kintaro was a few months old. So he started trying to hurt the baby..before they would play just like they were. But Genki changed I think she was overwhelmed and not sure how to slow Gentaro down.
Gentaro was bottle fed by the keeper's and taken away from his mum's keeping for 10 month's, as soon as he was born, mum had no milk.so now he doesn't understand what his mum's doing with the baby suckling on her, and no keeper feeds him bottle of milk, I think gentaro changed his attitude when the keeper's started feeding kintaro at about 6 months bottles of milk, because the mum's milk was not enough for his growing, strong and healthy, he was not getting the nourishment he needed and was not getting enough from the mum's milk, she is an old lady of 34 yrs, that's old for a gorilla. Gentaro wanted to help his mum and baby, but didn't know how to help. I think he would have understood better if he had seen other female gorillas nursing their own babies. But she is the only female in this group.

Que hacen que no cuidan mas a la mamá, Gentaro está muy agresivo con ella. y el papá no hace nada para ayudarla, cada día se parecen más a los humanos con el tema de la violencia de género. No me gusta ver como la maltrata a la madre, Gentaro es muy agresivo a veces, y otras se comporta como un amor.

Momotaro did not have a father figure to learn how to be a leader. He is learning this all through trial and error. Gentaro was bottle fed by zoo keepers until age 10 months so he is not understanding why Genki won’t put the new toy down and play. This entire family is winging it!!! Thank goodness for zoo keepers otherwise Gentaro and Kintaro may have suffered from malnutrition and died.
Absolutely insane what poor Genki had to endure at Gentaros hands! How miserable she must of been with his harrassment, and that's what it was and even though he has slowed down some! They honestly should of put Genki off to herself for a short time! No new mother should of had to endure Gentaro, how awful he was being towards his mom and bany brother!!
Jeanie Coudriet-the keepers did separate her from Gentaro but she cried so much-they put them back together.she is a wonderful mama& with her history when Gentaro was taken away after he was born for 10.5 months-She could NOT HANDLE that again.The keepers here know her better than anyone& they love her& her boys!💙🐵💙🐵🍼🌠

I hate gorilla's that have to live life in captivity… it is so wrong in my opinion. I don't support zoo's. The placement of animals in too small of spaces for the viewing of humans, Is not right! Captive animals missing out on Free Life *all for human entertainment!!* In the wild the eldest son wouldn't harass mom like that because in a group/family of gorilla's he would have other juveniles his age to play around with. Another reason why captivity shouldn't be allowed, because nothing about it is *normal*
