My tempest is rising and my balls are heavy. In all seriousness though, sometimes devs do stuff because they can, but never stop to think if they should. I don't know about other players, but i like the idea of controlling heavy vehicles, walkers, mechs, etc. Definitely not balls, especially as a top tier unit. I don't think this is the right idea. It could have been more interesting as a wildcard unit such as the terror drone from the red alert series. Perhaps smaller, faster, and with different mechanics. A support unit or special unit, if you will. The game has potential though. Cool stuff.
I actually love it. Come on, we've had things way out of the box in many command and conquer games. This can work if it's made of heavy elements while gaining momentum using a tempest powered engine. It requires more traction though. Maybe small spikes coming out?

NO it isn't, Starcraft 2 has orbs and sphere hulled units. These are just examples of lazy design. No need to code rotating turrets or moving treads or wheels. This is an abomination of unit design
Man if dev is here, i do suggest adding minelaying unit then THIS sphere as specialized mine clearing . Also give it a small laser turrets so it will look like BB-8 while downsizing its size
I don't think so. Air units can easily destroy the Tempest Sphere and these wrecking balls don't seem to be very fast either. With the right tactics, you should be able to destroy Tempest Spheres.

When you can just click in the general direction of the opponents army, they have to frantically try to move their units out of the way while also trying to counter them with emps and swapping to air units. They seem way too easy to handle while creating a massive issue for the enemy. They are like SC2 Disruptors, only that they are also super tanky and without ever running out of time/range. Would be better if it was a single super unit a la Mammoth MKII.

Those sphere must have heavy armor and motor to travel. It remind me of the indie jones and dungeon anime manga. At least people are open mind and find fun way to make interesting.

I second this! In its sphere shape it would be vulnerable to almost everything but VERY strong against buildings, like a breaking ball, or something like that. Just a ball is really boring, especially as a high tier unit.

IDK, whit teleportation capabilities or invisibility or laser guns, or super jump or spikes... etc... but they chose just a ball, spinning and smashing units. It's a shame since the other units seem more creative. They described it as an expensive unit, but don't they know people love saving resources to spend on awesome high tier or experimental units? All we'll see is gonna be a spam of super boring balls that don't need any special micro, just clicking and smashing everything. Yeah they will have their counters but the idea seems boring already... as a ball player and a ball defender too XD

How about considering Tempest Sphere as MCV's transformed-upgrade unit? I can see what the intention of Tempest Sphere is. Because GDF takes more advantages at early-mid phase, Tempest Dynasty needs Game Changer units at late phase. But rather, late phase would be standardized because this unit can crash almost the whole So, I suggest this option. 1) MCV can transform into Tempest Sphere after upgrading. But Tempest Sphere can't convert into MCV. 2) Tempest Sphere's basic mechanism is same as MCV. It can crush infantry & small vehicle. 3) Active Skill: Tempest Engine. brief bursts of rush to designated target, and crushes anything smaller units in its path. Also can roll into enemy structures like a mobile wrecking ball. But if Tempest Sphere bumps into MCV, GDF trebuchet, itself or Construction Yard in its path, Tempest engine shuts off automatically I expect this game can be promising Command and Conquer sequel. I'm waiting for beta and rooting for Tempest Rising :)

I always expect that the army who uses red to represent themselves would always have a super heavy tank. and it would be called something like, the leviathan or the siege breaker. but this... this is a ball. and I know it can one shot alot of things by crushing it. but still....

Yeah, but also given that they're melee units, I think they're fine From the looks of the trailer, except for their charge ability, they likely are gonna be the same as StarCraft's Ultralisk - like think of it as an enormous ground unit with immense stats but balanced off that when massed they literally just trip over one another trying to reach the enemy

If your opponent rushes or goes for mass AT, then you can't even field one of them. 2. Tiny little sphere that got no air attack... easy target if unescorted. 3. Probably extremely expensive... you can do much better investments than this ball😂 4. Since it needs to get in close range it will get focused down by experienced players first before even crushing a single vehicle. 5. Seemingly pretty weak anti-building attack... 6. Since a looooot of units in this game shoot on the move it's very suspectible to kiting and can get outrun by almost anything so long as the ability isn't micro'd well

Almost finished, looking awesome, but lack of microtransactions and marketing department says kids only play MOBA's so it gets cancelled by executives who don't even play video games.

Honestly any design that's not yet another tank is cool, and this one especially looks fun. It's like a heavy Grinder Tank from RA3 except it's meant to overpower smaller units and seems to have heavier armor. And having a literal deathball looks like fun.

Its hard countered by air, is slow as hell and doesn't instant kill buildings even remotely (which means static defense is a good counter against it).

Don’t let a single Unit destroy it for you. I am myself not happy with This Unit, mostly due to balance. But damn u Will never get another chance to play a new other c&c like game as this again.
Honestly any design that's not yet another tank is cool, and this one especially looks fun. It's like a heavy Grinder Tank from RA3 except it's meant to overpower smaller units and seems to have heavier armor. And having a literal deathball looks like fun.
@@korsekil atleast make it slow as in ra3 when an MCV run over tanks, and then give it alot less health.
