There needs to be a criminal case against her to show to others you can’t lie about abuse and just get a slap on the wrist. Amber Heard has undermined every other abused woman who has come forward and now casts suspicion on their cases. Many other men as well are in Johnny Depps position but instead they often fall to the side and lose everything. EVERY case of abuse needs to be thoroughly investigated, police need to be trained and the narrative has to change so nobody jumps to the conclusion of 'the woman said he did it so it must be true' narrative that Disney jumped to when they fired Depp. I work in the social service sector and abuse is not 85 per cent man abuses woman percentile, it really is a 50/50 split when it comes to domestic violence.

I also don’t know what part of social services you work in but I imagine you work primarily with people below the poverty line, which, typically do not have access to mental healthcare and resources to stop the cycle of domestic violence. Under those circumstances I could see DV being mutually common for all genders but we clearly live in a patriarchal world where men are easily 85% of overall perpetrators if not 95% or 99%

It won't. This isn't the first time. Won't be the last. The system has favored women regardless of the evidence more than half of the time. Just like in divorce court men are almost always left high and dry. This isn't even over yet and she could still potentially win despite the evidence.

As a woman who was in a relationship EXACTLY like this… My heart cries out for Johnny so much because we are the same… I’ve struggled with self harm during my abusive relationship as well and my partner made me look psychotic because of it…. Just like Amber tried to do with Johnny. But I know exactly where his head was at in that moment… he was in so much unfathomable pain & didn’t know how to handle it, but the last thing he wanted to do was ever hurt amber, so he hurt himself…. & even though Amber beat the shit out of him, because he hurt himself… she tried to make him the crazy one.

This is extremely complex case because of JD substance abuse. This was known in the industry prior of AH accusations, and this was a huge factor in his unemployment in the industry. The AH accusation was just the last drop, but he ruined his reputation way before this. People really forget this trial is about *defamation* not deciding who's the most abusing in the relationship

I was just about to say that Amber Heard should spend less money on hairstylists and invest more on a decent lawyer, but then I stopped to think... and to be honest, I don't know if her legal team is lousy or it's just that they really don't have room for maneuver. I remember the trial against El Chapo, his wife hired a group of so-called sharks, specialists in the criminal defense of druglords and stuff, but in the end, their allegations only took like 30 minutes against like 6 or 8 weeks or so of overwhelming evidence against their client. I guess they took the case because, despite the fact that it was a lost cause, they knew they could get good money and media attention. I wonder if we are witnessing a similar case here.

Some of the best advice I have been given came from my daughter . She simply said Dad you don't marry Crazy . My sympathy and support are with Mr Depp . When your early life is coloured by abuse . It becomes the norm . It's what you expect . That's how life is for you . I hope he breaks the cycle .
What's sad for me is he DID break the cycle. Look at all the positive relationships he's had and the kind of dad he is. Yet Amber still happened. Super discouraging because I suffer from the cycle of abuse. I was able to parent better, but never able to stop choosing evil and manipulative partners and friends. I've done everything I can, studied it, gotten professional help, and still, I'm a creep magnet. I don't know what it is or what I'm doing, but it's like they sniff me out, men and women. Both parents were narcissists who were cruel, demoralizing, demeaning, and abusive, and so have most of my adult friends been. My only cure has been to strictly maintain only acquaintances. The ones who try hard to get into my life who turn on the charm, those are the ones I need to avoid, but keep falling for believing them. And I have to stop feeling sorry for people who seem particularly charming, yet insecure of being rejected. It's horrible.
I really hope this trial ends with Johnny driving into the horizon, victory under the belt.

In cases of a lesser accusation, a single judge suffices. I have no trust in juries. Nobody can be objective. I think it would be better to have a triumvirate of judges to try cases like this, even though those judges, too, can't be completely objective.
Said triumvirate should be held accountable to a higher standard to prove they are less subjective by means a law-certified board of legally trained professionals.

And people still defend ruining a possibly innocent person's life by jumping to conclusions by asking, 'Well, why would she say it if it wasn't true?' Uhhh...great question! I love your energy, love where your head is at, but if you're older than about six years old, you kind of should be aware that human beings say things that aren't true all the time. And for more rhymes and reasons than there are grains of sand in the desert.

But if some people want to claim that they are a victim of abuse because they regretted a bad date e.g. Aziz Ansari, or for ulterior motives, then they should be held accountable and charged the same way an abuser would.
