@@Marc-io8qm because it was pretty obvious the second New England fans jumped on the dude despite him being 110% humble and wanting to improve for NE. Patriot fans were so excited for then next white guy they just jumped on Jones and tried convincing themselves that this kid is something he really isn't. I'm not one to bring race into anything, but this is pretty warrented considering the options.
I hope he gets a chance to start next week!

All passes look like interceptions since they were behind. With starter level CBs, they would be a half step behind and make the INTs. Almost every throw in this video was a 50-50 throw. Not a good highlight reel IMO.

I’m a Steelers fan and I like what New England has done with drafting Zappe. You have Mac and a very very potentially quality back up QB…a good back up QB is often looked over. You need one to stay competitive in this league because injury’s happen all the time
I think Zappe could be a great starter with development the dude threw some of the best balls I’ve ever seen in college he is an absolute beast .

Ppl are saying it's because the giants corners but those wr are covered... The dbs really have no chance. He's throwing behind so they either have to hold the wr or let them go back to the ball and hope it's a bad throw or the wr drops it.

Bailey Zappe looked awesome. Great decisions, and good ball placement to give guys a chance. Rumor has it Mac Jones has struggled with the same kinds of throws in camp.

@@marceld8961 just look at how well mac jones played last year in the pre season, he was making all kind of plays and killing teams from the moment he stepped on the field! Zappee struggled to make plays in the fist half and improved slightly in the second half

@@britneyystaples91 Meyers has the most catches so far in camp he's Mac's Edelman or Welker. Trading him would be dumb and we're not going to get much for him anyway. Might as well keep him this year then let him walk for compensatory pick if you don't plan on re-signing him.

He had to throw a ton of back shoulder stuff because our receivers can’t separate from defenders down the field. Looks good in September and October , but against elite defenders this is child’s play.

All of his deep balls were under thrown, much better catches than they were throws. Half of those will get picked against starting DBs. Will have to be excellent with anticipation on throws because he clearly doesn't have the arm to fit the ball in tight spaces down the field. But he's got enough traits to be a good backup for a long time.
You don’t know what your talking about man. It’s called back shoulder throws and he executed perfectly
@@RykerTG Even if that was his intention, each of those throws were still severally underthrown. A back shoulder throw ideally won't force a receiver to completely break stride and come back for the ball, it will have more height and velocity to it and at most the receiver will have to pause to catch the pass. But, to each his own.
@@jevinjohnson4961 If they were severely underthrown, the receivers wouldn’t have been able to catch the ball. He threw them a catchable ball because they were covered. NYG blitzed Zappe 17 times on 33 drop backs but he completed 75% of his passes, went 12-16, 135 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT.

Didn't say he had a bad performance, just didn't see the arm strength to make him a legitimate NFL starter, and I'm not saying that based solely on those deep balls. But there's only around 15-20 legitimate NFL staring qbs at any given time so that's a tough feat.
@@jevinjohnson4961 Ok but I’m saying it was more of a strategy they used because of what the Giants defense was giving them. Zappe has good arm strength and can hit players in stride. It was only the first preseason game so we haven’t seen all that he can do.

I noticed a lot of his throws he was short on was when he was under pressure. Things will get better when things start slowing down. He didn’t see this much in college
@@xredraindbx3861 Very true. In college he did a lot of pump fakes because he had so much time, now he's just trying to get through his progressions ASAP and get the ball out. Different game.

I just don't see what the issue is??? Its painfully obvious the game is too fast for Mac Jones. The only guess I can conjure up is the once famous now infamous level of Belichick's hubris. It's his number one weakness being magnified to higher degree as the weeks progress. Everyone else has watched Mac Jones reach the peak of his abilities as the NE quarterback. Stop wasting time Bill and start investing in Bailey Zappe for God sake. The best chance NE has at the QB position is just standing on the sidelines watching as the Brian Griese's and the Drew Hensons of the world just stink up the joint. It's beyond sickening to watch at this point. If us NE fans continue to watch this piss poor decision making from Bill Belichick the blame will eventually fall on Bob Krafts shoulders. In fact Bob Kraft lost control years ago by allowing Belichick to take the greatest QB that ever lived for granted. This shit has been going on too long!! Have the patriots learned anything from Jerry Reinsdorf and Jerry Krause??? WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THESE OWNERS, GM's, and head coaches that ITS THE GODDAMN PLAYERS THAT GET SHIT DONE NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!
