I love how you can see every cut Pierce makes, you see turf/dirt getting dug and tossed up. You can see how quick and precise/clean his cutting/planting is and then he just goes. No wasted time

That’s the issue. There have been times where they’ve easily had a top 5 defense but have never had an offense good enough to actually win games.

im so happy the texans have a fierce defense again. they might not be top 10 statistically in the regular season, but they sure as hell are gonna play like it.
it’s been rough at the rb position since foster left, but we *FINALLY* found one. dame is going to be a goddamn problem.
and kenyon green looked like a mauler in the run game, so that’s a good sign.
all in all, im excited to see progression & aggression from my team this season as the ultimate underdogs.
they’re tired of being looked down upon & it’s definitely been shown on the field & i can’t wait to see it continue.

My expectations for the Texans went below the ground to on top of it. Not asking for a playoff spot but I hope we fans get to see a glimmer of hope this season.
Purdy can stay in the pocket and get through all of his progressions, and THEN complete a pass! He needs to show Trey how to do that.

Except for that one int Brock didn't look to shabby. Great passes even the ones we didn't see that the WR's dropped. Texans looking hella nice especially on defense, but its the preseason so take that with a grain of salt

I mean the one thing I saw a flaw on defensive side of the ball for the Texans last year was the d-line. The only one notable from last year was greenard, but like damn they have all been showing up this preseason! Like every game their in the backfield either causing the pocket to collapse, pressure the qb to making bad passes, sacking the qb, or just absolutely annihilating the run game. So yes Lovie Smith 😂

Yup. And all them picked passes were no bueno. It's good the niners drooped one in preseason, makes cuts easier to make when the play poorly. First couple outings they all looked real good. At least we finally saw some poor play. Excited about all the talent this year!

Damien Pierce is going to be a beast we found our franchise RB and our defense man if we can play like this in the regular season I honestly think we can be a top 15 defense. But overall I like how we are under Lovie man he making us look like a decent football team and not a laughing stock.
As for Davis Mills he had an up and down game but let’s hope Pep shows us what he got during the regular season because he has been running ordinary plays this whole preseason. Maybe Mills will be better once the season starts.

As a Florida fan I can say this young man is a hell of a football player and he seems to have his head in his solders. So much heart he reminds me of Maurice Jones drew

Mills and Lance are gonna be fine both just got to be more confident and comfortable. For Davis Mills he got to be willing to read and recognize the blitz better. As for RB1 Pierce is pretty much a lock for that spot though if healthy Mack and Pierce can become a effective 1-2 punch. Defense pretty much did their thing forced two turnovers which were interceptions and recorded sacks.

Good, steady performance by the Texans. They may be better than people expect this year, and with loads of draft picks in coming years there's potential.
Lance and the 49ers looked really anemic.
That's because it's the preseason, it doesn't count. We usually beat the Street Poopers in the preseason, but only once have we ever beat them in the regular season. They only played a few of their starters and for only the first half. Had this been the regular season, the Street Poopers would've beaten us by AT LEAST that score.
Shanahan doesn't care about preseason games. For him they're just a way for him to try new things and see what his guys can do outside of their known quantities in games that don't matter. It also doesn't help when the Niners sat 7 of their front 9 starters on defense and sat the confirmed starters for the Oline. Hard for Lance to do anything when his LT and LG can't block anyone and Sermon just dances behind the LoS

Those 3 interior O-linemen for the 9ers were starters bud, those are the guys going to be protecting Lance this season. They did not look great.
Also Deebo was in there not all of our starters played, kittle and Deebo played y’all best players and had 0 points stfu our 2nd string went out there and 3rd same as the 49ers

Kima* I agree 100% about Hinish. I'm a Notre Dame fan and Kurt Hinish for the first 3 years he was at Notre Dame was extremely undervalued and in my opinion one of the best defensive lineman we had while he was at ND. Last year though was his least affective season. I'm not sure if he was injured and it wasn't reported or what, but I thought he was going to be much better for us. From what I've seen at least during the preseason, it had to be an injury cause he is playing really well for the Texans. I wish him nothing but limitless success in the NFL like I do all former Notre Dame players in the League!!! Unless of course said players are playing against my Niners, then they are the enemy, and must be destroyed, at least for that specific game of course.

Pierce is going to be a monster for us in the regular season. The defense pitched a complete game shutout and looks absolutely great. Our O-line needs to do a better job of protecting Mills, but other than that, we're ready for the regular season. We're going to turn a lot of heads, believe that! 🤘

Lovie Smith is really bringing back early 2000 and mid 2000 bears styles of football when he was in Chicago: Great defensive performances and a good running game with a little passing here and there (outside of Jay Cutler throwing the ball on every down). I’m a Titans fan and I don’t know if things will change right away for this team, but we’ll see what happens. I wish them the best of luck even though I obviously want them to fail and crash and burn 🤣

This game ended up being really significant- Purdy and Sudfeld battling for the backup QB position. You wouldn't think it would matter all that much, especially after Jimmy got picked up. But good lord did this game and performance end up mattering.
