      No word of a lie, I've seen some of the best long range hunting shots ever by Stu. This channel is no bullshit, Stu lets the skills do the talking. Anyone who has any skill what so ever with a firearm knows full well moving targets are very difficult to make and Stu makes it looks easy at what looks like 140+ yards in some of his vids. I have trouble hitting stationary targets at 70 yards. Stu is Class A Hunter in my book. I could only imagine what he could do with a high end. 223 AR-15 semi-auto with a 30 round magazine. Those hogs wouldn't stand a chance. Cheers!

    Not sure if you've heard this but you have an American subscriber. Y'all definitely hunt different than we do in the USA. We shoot two or three and the whole herd moves to a completely different place. I'm not sure if it's a water situation there or what but our wild pigs do not stick in one place. Enjoy the videos and definitely enjoy seeing the end of the night "line-up".

      I've seen some crazy hunting vids down in the southern states like Texas. most memorable was the helicopter vids and the other vid of the 100 hogs in one night I think it was called. 4x4 truck with 12 ga semi-auto shooter at the back and in the end they ran out of ammo and just mowed them down with that 4x4. Great stuff. Its crazy but those hogs are making their way up to Canada too. Its like a zombie hog invasion.

      I'm in the midwest, they jump marsh to marsh or field to field. The conservation actually banned people hunting on public hunting ground for hogs so they could trap them. When people shot them, they would leave the acreage. It seems that killing one ran em off.

    At 14:26 - I could swear I've seen you look under that tree before in another video and thought pigs were there?
    At first, taking down that first big boar with 4 rounds of .30-06, makes me think the bullets you're using are not expanding enough to transfer the kinetic energy of the bullet to put the boar's lights out. As you said, shot placement always helps!

It makes you wonder if the dealer could of worked something out with the importer over the riverman. Shooting stuff Australia post a video all about the berkia changes if you want to have a look. .308 125 gr for hogs is all about shot placement, is it not? That's alot of ft. lbs enough to take down a hog. There's vids of guys shooting hogs with 55 grain .223 and the hogs just drop.

    • @shanevonharten3100
      @shanevonharten3100 5 лет назад +4

      @@D33Lux. I've been shooting feral pigs in Australia for 40yrs and with a wide range of calibres and projectile types. Pigs do not often present a perfect head/side on profile like a target an rarely stand still. They are extremely tough and can shut down their nervous system to assist in their fight or flight response. Many shots will be running and not of optimum placement and need to be aggressive and deep. A "violent wound channel" is most suited and the ability go at least 20 inches deap for larger pigs is crucial. Small varmint rounds when placed in vitals are sufficient but this is rarely the case in the field. 150gr in the .308 and 30 06 are excellent and 130gr in the 270 is very effective.

    Stewie shooting from the sleeping bag! Absolute classic. Mobs sending spotters in to check you out is interesting. Pigs aren't stupid especially if hunted recently. How does the 30-06 compare to the 30-30 in scrub? Are you finding it zig zagging off of twigs and grass or punching through? Might be worth a couple o' box's of rum to the cocky to get you lads to stay longer if your seeing 3 mobs of 30 in a night at the grain pit. Good work fella. Best follow up shots I've ever seen.

      Yes we can mate but it is highly regulated and you have to have a legit reason ie be a pro shooter or farmer.

    Hey Stu. Loving the videos mate. I’m looking at getting my shooters license and was wondering if there’s anywhere you know of within a couple of hours of Sydney to hunt some pigs? Also any recommendations for a good starters rifle? Cheers mate.

    • @HuntingwithStu
      @HuntingwithStu  5 лет назад +1

      A 243 would be a good all round starter cal mate probs Howa or Tikka, or Winchester. The best bet is to take a trip out west and pull in to the odd property and see if you can gain access. Don't take guns and wear city clothes so your first impressions are good.

      Por nada !! Me gusta el estilo de casería q practican . Acá es diferente por la fauna . Te limita pq es muy tupida . Usamos perros para sacar los cerdos del monte y después le tiramos pero alguno agarran los perros y matamos a cuchillo . Yo tengo un marlin 25-06 ,una escopeta Remington cal 20 y un revólver Taurus cal 45 .
      Bueno no subo vídeos pq está mal vista la casería en mi país por los ecologistas . Aunque el cerdo es plaga acá .

      They come from other areas that is so thick we can't get in there so I reckon the ones we shoot are replaced by ones we can't get to until they make their way out of the thick stuff.
