I was in charge of the renovations to the house at 3:40. My lead carpenter repaired those round balls on-site. They were solid turnings of wood. It was about a $2.5M job for a wealthy client from McLean who attended Washington college. Washington had resided at that house at one time. It was a really interesting project, but in very poor condition by 2007.

I’m a Maryland boy. I’ve seen a lot of deterioration of my state in the last 63+ years. Baltimore had such character and a unique culture. Now it’s just like any urban area taken over by incompetent government and failed social experiments. The people who made it work have left or are leaving. Not much is done for the working class tax payers. Just more taxes that benefit government and its self indulgence just so they can have their name on a park or building. I no longer live there but this video causes me to think of a time when our politicians were a little more competent and able to communicate and to compromise with each other and the community to achieve its goals.

Sadly a lot of that "rich farm land" has been forever disposed of for housing developments and warehouses. More focus should be put on on renovating and bringing people to abandoned areas of already developed cities and keep the valuable and irreplaceable farm land.

Hagerstown has gone downhill since this was made. The organ factory, aircraft industry and other manufacturing is gone . 27% of the population is below the state poverty rate, only half the residents own their homes and drugs and crime are a major problem. We have migration from Baltimore and released inmates from the local prisons to thank for much of that.

@@mrmr3343 Okay. I don't know whst you mean by right wing me but we'll l try a left wing mentality. High taxes and lots of government regulation. Judges who let criminals off and defund the police. I talk to former Frederick residents who have left because they can't afford live there anymore. Our problems come from Baltimore, New York and the metropolitan areas and local state prisons.

I mean they have no other choice. Parasites like you move into the towns that these people built and sustained for years. Then you people come along and bring your destructive bumper sticker world view which has literally failed everywhere it’s been done. And when you destroy what was once a peaceful beautiful civilization you move on to the next target and destroy that.
