R.I.P. to the policeman in this video, Jay Hancock. He was with the OC MD police for more than 30 years. He passed away at the age of 64 on May 18, 2012.
A highlight of a vacation at Ocean City MD was Philips Seafood restaurant with their all you can eat hush puppies. I usually got the fried clams, but snuck some of my Grand Dad's lobster tail when he wasn't looking.... :)
I HAVE ENJOYED O.C. SINCE 1959. IT STILL CALLS TO ME AROUND JUNE AND JULY. 3RD. ST. & 9TH ST. BEACH IS MY FAVORITE SECTIONS OF THE BEACH. BACK IN THE 60 ALL THE HIPPIES HUNG AT 9TH ST. RIGHT AROUND THE "BEACHCOMER LOUNGE". A HOT SPOT TO PARTY AND DANCE ! THEN THERE WAS THE "HIDE-A-WAY LOUNGE" AT 33 ST. ON THE BAY SIDE ACROSS FROM THE LIQUOR STORE. GOOD FREAKING TIMES ! WISH YOU COULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO EXPERIENCE IT ! I DID !
I think the older gentleman getting out of the car at 0:09 might have been indistinguishable from everybody's grandfather/great grandfather at that time.
I've been going to Ocean city since I was a kid in the early 90s. So many wonderful memories! I remember I got so scared in the haunted house I ran out and across the parking lot 😂😂
The opening shot, far left of the screen (the red brick facade, & the 2-story columns next to it) was the old Hall's motel & restaurant. Not sure if they're still around..
I’m nostalgic to this time even though I wasn’t even born yet
It was a awesome fun time !!

'79...Loved pickin guitar on the BOARDS at that time.
And not a lick of obese people in sight.
And now it’s impossible to not see obese people here
And no tattoos or nose piercings.
I remember staying at Terri a while during the 70s. What great memories.

I lost my virginity at age 15 in 1979 at the Carousel Hotel in Ocean City. She was 16 but looked 20!
