Fact is, we never had any problems with sold out toiletpaper during the pandemic, there's barns all over the place full of authentic chemically treated Reichstoiletpaper.

Yea, I'm a Reenactor and that toilet paper is a reproduction that has been used for a while. Most have modern cardboard rolls with modern stamping on them.

I was at the show in Kassel Germany where these Christmas ornaments were bought. I also bought some from the same dealer. They were being sold as reproduction which is what I bought them as and what I later sold them as. The seller joked that they were reproduction at his table but original once they left. He was a decent and honest seller that made no attempt to call them anything other than reproduction. This just shows that any story you hear about these being found in an attic or something was completely fabricated and also tells you who made up the story.
What is funny, is i saw walter at the show with boxes of the christmas ornaments (the long tree topper sets, price 90€ each from the seller at the show) under his arm and carrying a few german supermarket bags full of other boxed ornaments and things. I said hi to him and his wife as this is something you do when you see familiar faces at foreign shows even if you really don't know the person. He looked straight through me like i wasn't there and immediately walked away I just assumed he was a weird dude as I really didn't know him well, he definitely saw me and definitely knew I said hello to him and he definitely reacted to that by dodging me. Later at a US show, I tried to talk to him about seeing him in Kassel, he flat out denied ever being there and insisted it couldn't have been him and ended the conversation after a brief unintelligible ramble where it sounded like he said he had a twin brother living in Germany that was a bad guy and spent time in prison or something. It was really incoherent so i only caught the jist of what he was stabbing at. He ended the conversation very abruptly after the ramble.
The kassel show was good with lots of real stuff but many of the fakes are also sold there in very large numbers. A lot of new old stock items are given new markings and occasionally completely fake, fantasy, or extreme good reproductions do turn up. I actually remarked at the time that i guess this is where it all comes from. The dealers that actually make the fakes are rather interesting people and normally very willing to tell you about their work as they are proud of it and they seem confident that telling people won't effect their sales. It was about a 50/50 mix of guys selling "totally real items" and guys selling reproductions. Generally speaking the worse and more fantastic the fake the more insistent the seller was about it being real. The really nice repros were generally sold as repro. It is interesting to note that I see very few of the other repros or fakes that I saw there making their way to the states. I guess very few people try to take these items and sell them as real.
I've been warning collectors at shows about the ornaments for years but i think many do not want to hear it. I guess they are already too heavily invested. That being said, i have managed to buy many real items that have been labeled "fake" by the big wig collectors. Too many collectors rely on authorities for confirmation of originality rather than taking others opinions into consideration along with doing their own research and working to learn some of the fundamentals. I have found that studying manufacturing techniques, practices, and materials and by studying many undisputed originals pieces as well as period non military pieces you can much better decide for yourself what is real and what is probably not. This has really helped me pick some diamonds out of the trash. There is a mountain of real stuff that has been labeled fake over the past few decades by collectors that simply don't have enough well rounded experience and who have been unable to comprehend the larger militaria supply chain and what it would really take to fake some of this stuff.
My German friend said it best, in this hobby, you will meet some of the best and the absolute worst sort of people.

The "heißt" is actually not wrong.
Up until a few years ago there was no capital "ß"-Character in the German language so when you would write heißt in capital letters the actually correct writing is HEISST. A few decades ago some people would also write HEISZT but writing HEIẞT would have definitely been incorrect in this case.

I am German too so let's continue this conversation in German.
Es gab bis vor ein paar KEIN großgeschriebenes "ß" in der Deutschen Sprache.
1) Das was da auf der Tafel steht ist kein Sütterlin.
2) nicht einmal Sütterlin verwendete ein großes scharfes S. Ich kann Sütterlin wie auch Kurrent sowohl lesen als auch schreiben. Noch nie habe ich - egal ob Kirchenbuch oder Brief - ein großgeschriebenes ẞ gesehen. Im Gegenteil - ich habe unzählige SS oder SZ gesehen aber wie gesagt noch nie ein ẞ weil es das damals einfach nicht gab.
Also nein, weder die Lateinschrift, noch Kurrent, Sütterlin oder Antiqua verwenden ein großgeschriebenes "ß" und da du ein wirrwar mit Sütterlin von dir gibst, wo die Tafel doch eindeutig in Antiqua beschriftet wurde, lässt mich vermuten, dass du überhaupt keine Ahnung hast wovon du eigentlich sprichst.
@@ausmerzer2523 Junge, wir reden hier von GROSSBUCHSTABEN. In Großbuchstaben gab es bis vor genau 4 Jahren *kein* ẞ.
Also nochmal und zum letzten Mal - du wirst nirgends einen "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" Schriftzug in GROSSBUCHSTABEN sehen, wo das "heißt" als "HEIẞT" geschrieben wird, weil es diesen Buchstaben bis vor 4 Jahren schlicht und einfach nicht gab.
Bitte informiere dich das nächste Mal, bevor du so einen Humbug schreibst. Besonders in Militaria Foren, wo eine Falschinformation hunderte Euro an Schaden anrichten kann.

Naja egal, aber dennoch Sütterlin war nie eine "Preußische Schrift" und hat absolut nichts mit dieser Tafel zu tun. Glaub nicht dass du damit in Zukunf viel Erfolg haben wirst, wenn du mit Wörtern die du nicht verstehst herumjonglierst in der Hoffnung dein Gegenüber mit "Fachwissen" zu beeindrucken.
@@Oberkommando man hat einfach bei Großbuchstaben das kleine ß reingeballert. Sah aber bescheiden aus. Aber es gab es, wenn es nicht gegen Doppel-S oder noch früher gegen SZ ersetzt wurde vor 2017 schon. Vielleicht nicht offiz und wenn auch eher selten. So wie hier: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/79/Inschrift_Edertalsperre_Zwangsarbeiter.jpg/1280px-Inschrift_Edertalsperre_Zwangsarbeiter.jpg und ansscheinend gab es eine 1909 entwickelte Schriftart in der das so verwerndet wurde (Ehmcke-Antiqua). Ich hab auch in der Schule gelernt das Doppel-S ein scharfes S (ß) ersetzt. BJ1979

Excellent video, remember never buy the story, but the item. Study, study and study more. I wish these videos were about when I first started. Join the forums, talk to other collectors. Knowledge is your defence. Great informative video, well done for highlighting and exposing these fraudsters.

I'm not a collector but I found this channel and I'm curious, how is this man not being arrested or sued for fraud? he is actively selling fake products as real ones, I'm also no legal expert but it just seems weird that people like this can keep doing this for years.

Great video. Watching Toms Show videos over the years I always got a funny feeling about Walter and his items. I'm not surprised at all that it's all a bunch of fake crap. It's a shame he takes advantage of people and sells them trash.

But from a few years ago I couldn't find any more videos of him. So surprisingly, it's nice to see the name again here.
Joe rivett was sadly banned from RUclips after the forums turned on him for exposing fakes and scams they were in on. Sad but he vary rarely does new content over on bitchute

the change from ß to ss in spelling happened in the last 25 years during a spelling reform in the german school system.
I was at a gun show about 6 months ago and saw a set of the Nazi Christmas ornaments just like those you displayed @ 00.20

Ones a dealer sells a fake you can't trust them any more
Even a dealer might take a fake into inventory - if the fellow takes it back and returns your money he may rate the benefit of the doubt. Still caution is a good idea.

I stumbled upon the first part, however that video has comments disabled, so forgive me for asking here. In that video you talk about two officer's caps ("generals") being fake, and you refer to them as "SS". Now, I will admit I am very far from being an expert on ww2 German militaria, but I learnt a surprising thing from a documentary recently, so it would seem that SS was not alone in using a skull insignia, as the panzer troops, having their historic roots in cavalry (the skeleton being a traditional cavalry symbol), also used a skull insignia, possibly a slightly different design, but similar enough, that ordinary panzer units were confused with SS, which probably was bad when taken prisoner. The pink piping would fit very well, as it was the colour for panzer troops. I could not quite make out what you were criticising about the hats in that video, but you did say SS, which I believe is most likely not the case. I am just wondering if you are aware of this possible source for confusion?

@@militariareview208 thank you for answering so quickly, you are right, after posting my question, I felt unsure and did a bit more research; it would seem that the (slightly different) skull was worn on the left and right lapels, but not on the cap. The SS had their skull on the cap and the right lapel only.

I have collected since 1968. Never heard of this joker. Have dealt with and know Bill Shea, Tom Wittmann, & Tom Johnston. This guy looks like an expert in expelling BS. Needs to bone up on how to properly pronounce German words.

This is so sad to watch, especially because it casts a shadow of doubt on Wittman who should know better...
I was looking at SS daggers and started to follow Wittman because of his credentials in the subject, this is quite frankly disappointing at best...
A quick question since you and your audience are surely more informed on the subject, does anyone know what the most common version of SS and SA daggers go for in the US market?
I am just looking for a ballpark number for a piece in decent condition (does not have to be mint) to compare to my county's market.

@@militariareview208 Thanks a lot, it's an odd number to be honest, I remember some prices from when I started looking at these items, which was around 15 years ago, and it seems to me that the value of SA daggers has somewhat increased but not by an astonishing percentage whilst the SS ones (basing myself on pricing found here and there) seem to have doubled or even tripled...
I wonder what will happen on the 100th year anniversary, imho the prices are gonna shoot up even more what do you think?
Also if someone from Pizzaland wanted to buy one of said daggers could you suggest some european sellers?
I've taken a cursory look at warrelics.eu it seems quite the reliable place for purchasing from people asd not necessarily traders :)

Эти старые алкаши написали пару брошур и возомнили себя профессорами, но это не даёт им права повышать цены куда-то в космос. Да и ещё они прикрывают друг друга там где неправы.

I don't blame people for making stupid replicas of all sorts of item, I blame the dumb people who buy it. There is so many FARBs (Fast And Reasearchless Buyer) out here that it is so easy to make money selling crap. "BuT I'm A CoLlEcToR" no, you haven't even bought a single book, your knowledge is based of video games and midnight documentaries. You want to buy an expensive portrait of a SS officer ? Spend a week trying to find information, talk with people who are known to have one, ffs even send an e mail to a museum they could help you. That's how you make the difference between a collector and a guy who played to much CoD.

So to the toilet paper: The y of hygienisch has the dots over it like an ü.. but the y has no version that is an Umlaut.. so why would those dots be there? If you try to fake german atleast put some effort into it
