Many thanks for posting this. I'm about to start a custom canal boat project that will be fully Victron and this gives me an interesting option to display GX-based data. Can I please confirm that Victron supports this concept - a third-party Wi-Fi GX display - more-or-less (that is, they are not likely to do something in software that will kill the capability)..? What would the minimum hardware requirements for the tablet (processor and memory)..? That is, can I use a reasonably old and low-end tablet that I have spare, or does it need to be relatively new and decent hardware...
Hi, congratulations for the video, it's very clear. a question why I can't see the classic interface? even if I change the interface it always remains the New one....
Got it working perfectly! One little thing, I want to leave the screen stay on always, can I set that in the app? I installed another app to sort that, but I rebooted, and the Victron app starts right away, and I cannot get to the default startscreen anymore to start the other app
Thanks for the great explanation. My Cerbo GX is connected via ethernet cable to my RV wifi travel router. Will my android tablet find the GX device connected this way? Thanks.
If you connect Android tablet to RV wifi...will work. The ideea is to be in same subnet and same ip class. Example 192.168.1.1 (router), 192.168.1.2 (Cerbo), 192.168.1.99 (Android)
Thanks works perfect on the A9 tablet I brought for this. Is it possible to dual boot on the device? Lets say i want to use the tablet for normal browsing the internet I reboot back into android software and then when I am done reboot back into Victron software.
Thanks a lot. Because of continuation of stopping support for older tablets we have at home several to be used to. The most suitable Asus Nexus 7 does not work as your step by step shows. Unable having the screen where to activate qr code scanner. Marshmallow, android 6 is installed
To use a QR code on a reset device, tap 6 times on the welcome screen to invoke the QR code reader, if not work you have in description link to app, try to install manually from sd.
I have just completed this on a Samsung S22 Ultra phone. Works brilliantly when both devices on the exact same WiFi network. Because it is a mobile installation (i.e. in my vehicle where there is no consistent WiFi to share on both devices) I'm wondering it I can do the following >>> Use a USB-C to HDMI cable adapter and connect the Cerbo GX direct the HDMI outlet and receive the same experience as a Touch 50 or 70 when WiFi is not available????
Hello, won't work, the Android basically run a software that connect to GX unit via Wi-Fi, so HDMI won't help. Try to extend wireless power, using a Ubiquity AP.
@@thecstechvideos I responded to a comment about an E in display. Please explain to me how this is going to function with a very low refresh rate. The animations used to show the electrons moving a faster than the refresh rate so the screen will continually flash.
Would this Amazon listing, "Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 (SM-X110), 64GB 4GB RAM, WiFi Only, International Version (15W Wall Charger Bundle) (Gray)" be a good choice and able to configure as in this video with camera and QR code? None of the older tablets a friend gave me have worked but I've never owned Android anything so I'm a little lost here.
Hi Claudio, where did you find the QR code you scanned? I assumed it was the QR code of the cerbo. When I scanned mine, I received an error message stating, “Ask your IT admin for the correct code.” What’s going on?
Dies this also work if your cerbo GX is running the old gui? This is obviously the the gui 2.0 but my cerbo is running old gui and I don’t wanna change. Have old iPads but no android but if that works with the old gui installed I am gonna get tomorrow a cheap android tablet as I exactly need that.
Answer question myself: you need the GX device running the new gui with version 3.5 or later…sucks as I don‘t like the new gui as I cannot integrate my BMS as other stuff which is possible by gui mods and other adaption not possible in the new gui. A shame.

If I scan the QR Code the Tablet want to set up a company account. I think there is something wrong here. Can you show the website where the code is located?
Ive tried to gat this to work for me. I have a samsung a10 tablet with the qr code software installed. I keep getting a an "Error Loading Web". I get it after i scan the cerbo qr code. Any help on this???
Hi , me again, i got to reboot and re wiped the tablet and re loaded etc... however, but i am still having issue trying to connect to cerbo gx... it doesnt auto show my IP... any suggestions
Hi, i follow, your instruction, however, when i went to connect to my cerbo, it didnot appear when i scanned, so i entered manually the IP, now, i seem to have a 404 Not found message and my screen seems to be locked... any suggestions how to re try... or reverse
@@UKsystemsbut then it will not work on old IOS means not on old iPads as apple phased them out and is not publishing software that tun on the old iOS anymore.
I would recommend a cheap tablet where possible simply because if it’s going to cost more than 2 to 300 where I am I could simply get another Victron display and HDMI splitter and USB and HDMI fibreoptic and simply run a cable for the other display
It’s easy to do a semi similar thing with Apple, but it is very different. You would use a kiosk app, and use guided access to lock the device on the kiosk app. The kiosk app is like a web browser without the navigation bar. You can lock it into one web address. In this case, you just put in the IP address of the GX device and program the kiosk app to lock the iPad onto that address. I do this on my installs and it works well.
