man you got great how to videos i just bought my first banshee for a $1,000 and it was a bit rough but all your videos is making my bike come together like how it supposed to be thanks.
South Texas Banshee i got a question my banshee is blowing more smoke out of the right exhaust while the left one has less, i cleaned the left side carb because it was leaking fuel what should i check or change i would appreciate your opinion.
Another consideration is if your doing a top end or removing the cylinders, upon installation install cool head first prior to tightening and torquing cylinder nuts. This will allow proper alignment of head to cylinders. I messed up one before doing this backwards!
My banshee that i just bought just got rebuilt, so im gonna ride her till she quits then do the 421 that you talk about but this winter i wanna put better air system and what else can i do to make her quicker shes got top end sprockets and exhaust im going back to stock sprockets i really appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge, your a good man and bro.
Trick I learned for the putting grease in to hold orings in at Walmart they have these syringe type medication measurer for giving kids cough syrup fill it up with grease and u can follow the groove while way around just makes it easier for me
I ended up buying a cool head but dad ending up getting the ebay version instead of pro design im just a lil concerned on the domes where the oring sits my domes dont have a oring slot but it came with green ones n im just dont know if its wrong or do i put the oring on top of the cylinder block and then the dome on top i just dont have a slot where the oring stay with out slipping out when you flip it upside down to put the dome on top of block where piston comes out of thanks!
You do great videos, almost didnt watch because of the fan lol but glad I stayed tuned. I've learned alot already from your videos. Keep up the good work.
just picked up a 03 banshee, its leaking coolant out the head n threw the pipes. seems to be condensation in the head aswell when i look threw the head. could this be a head gasket n will i have to do a complete top end rebuild??? thank u for your time
Quick question, what would be the best approach to remove the cylinders if one of the pistons is stuck in one of the cylinders because some ran the engine with just gas and no oil?
My banshee doesn’t turn over when it did it would be a few minutes now doesn’t start I found coolant in the left exhaust I have a cool head installed I’m assuming it’s the oring correct ? I did a compression test and a leak down test 125 both sides and leak down went good any help
Ok first off I dont know whole lot about banshees. I was given an 87 frame with a motor with pro design cool heads. it was last touched in 1999 before i got it. i got the cool head o ring replacement kit just cause rubber goes bad.. should i just plan on tearing the motor down and redoing all the seals and get eyes on what pistons i have. motor turns over easy ,wasnt stored with gear oil in the crank and seals still look new. the man who built it passed away in a motorcycle crash around 2000 so he isnt around to ask. Im assuming if its stock a compression test will tell me right away what im working with or if it had leaks from sitting for 20 years. im in the process of rebuilding it all for trail riding i got the 28 keihen pwks carbs, reed spacer and reeds and boost bottle and k and n pods... im terrified since i dont know what it started with i wont know how to get the jetting right and i melt or detonate the motor. i dont know what size domes i have.. are they marked? i bought the clymers manual but waiting on it. You do great videos and they've been a big help with the swing arms and j arms already.. i also have a bar on the frame right above where the steel break lines should go and i cant tell if its original or was added the shocks are gonna rub.. id love to send you a pic and you can tell me if its safe to cut off or if its factory. Ive seen it on no other frame from any year of banshee but its painted same as the rest of the frame. any help or suggestions or even pointing me to video would be appreciated.
Question my man. So when I installed my engine after a rebuild I am having coolant leak from there the cool head meets the top of cylinders. It actually showed signs of leaking before I even started the engine for break in. Now when I installed this is know for sure I put some metal like head gasket on the engine where cool head meets cylinders. I noticed in your video you did not. I'm guessing that's why I'm having. Leak by. Let me know I noticed you didnt use that metal head gasket before putting cool head on
Hey man awesome vids im just getting ready for when i buy a banshee should be some time before the summer but do you think you can make a video on coolant service draining it and cleaning the system then refilling it ?
Hello sir, first of all great video. I have a question. My banshee was measuring 120 psi in both pistons after a fresh re-built with new porting job, bored over .020, 19cc domes on ADA head and .025 base gasket. I was having problems starting it cold which I found out that I had the carb. Bowls installed wrong after watching your videos. I was using WSM pistons and my banshee broke the left piston, I replaced those with wiseco and installed 16 cc domes and installed a .015 base gasket, my compression is reading 185 psi which ADA recommends 110 octane race fuel. Some of my other mods are time plate +4, Vforce 4, and jetted carbs, the squish measured .040 both sides and the leak check was good. Do you use race fuel for 185 psi compression measured cold or what do you recommend? Again thanks for the vídeos and keep up the good work.
I have a modquad head the 2 back studds im having gasket problems being pushed out it has happened 3 times now have you ran into the problem and how did you fix it
Hey do you any reason as to why I have got18 o rings after un packing my cool head and no large o ring? Two ones around the size of the second to largest o rings you have came with mine instead of the large one
I had a questions about my banshee and you seem like the right guy. I got a banshee 3 months ago and when I wasn't home some family was here and decided they wanted to ride it. when we came back the oil was leaking and replaces some parts. Later it wouldnt run so but would turn on so when we took it apart one of the pistons was broken. Do you know what could have caused this?
it was run really hard, might have held it pinned too long and leaned out and seized a piston. if it had a small air leak and was already jetted on thr lean side, that's a recipe for disaster. A properly tuned and built banshee engine will take tons of hard hours, I know of stock 90 models still on the original top ends.
at sea level, with no air box lid 300 mains and 27.5 pilots air screw at 1-1.5 turns out from.closed and needle at 3rd clip from top (or middle) if you don't know your elevation just Google your towns elevation.
I can't find it, but i thought i saw on one of your other videos, the website to order the cool head kit from, and you also showed the chart to know which domes to buy. Can you give that information? I don't run higher than 93 pump gas. 22 and 21 cc domes work for 93 octane but 21's have more compression. Which do i choose? I'm on a new top and bottom end as of 3 years ago and I don't ride a whole lot so the hours are low.
+Paul Ostaszewski I myself run 200 cc domes on 2 of my bikes with +5 timing on 93, also know tons if other guys that do too. 20 draws the line, 19 and you'll need 50/50 mix or pump/race gas.
when your using that style torque wrench your suppose to stop when you here the first click not click it 3 more time BC now your over torquing the nuts when going past the first click
Negative, when I re check them, i pull till the click. the nuts/ bolts don't turn any more then they were to begin with. if the torque is set to say 50ftlbs, you can pull it 100 times it gonna click at 50, unless you pull past the 50 you won't over torque it.
hello sir I got a quick question I have a 421 cheetah that I only do mainly trail riding on and I do believe my carburetors are 38 millimeter keihin twins, my banshee eats a lot of gas and I can't go very far on the trails maybe 30 miles eats up a whole tank what can I do to get better gas mileage
That's the nature of the beast, 30 Miles is about right, I hear some guys get 26. You could try smaller carbs, but all in all, the engine will still require a certain amountil of fuel. Not a lot you can do honestly. smaller carbs will however give you more low end grunt.
Frank Ivey 21cc should be safe for pump gas, I and a lot of guys run 20cc domes with no problems. Just run 93 octane and keep the timing below 4°. Also, be sure to plug chop it. You should be fine man.
what do cool heads do? and can i install them on my bone stock banshee motor ?or is this an upgrade that you do after????? p.s im new to banshees and motor work
Alec Thayer sorry just seen the other question, thats too much, I take it the bore isn't fresh? for Wiseco top ring multiply your bore size by .004 for end gap 2nd ring multiply by .005 i.e. top ring 64mm bore= 2.52" x .004=.0100 2nd ring 2.52" x .005=..0126
It all depends on supporting mods, it helps the engine run cooler, cooler engines make more power. Depending on dome selection, higher compression will help add some low end punch. For instance you could run 20cc domes and then add °4 degrees of timing, and of you have a a good set of pipes, it'll make really good low end power.
Ok so how fast is this banshee i havnt got yet so its a 4mil with coolheads t5 pioes and silencers, brand new cylinder??? Its stretched out and sittin on ten paddle haulers
These gaskets come with the vitos kits. I use them all the time. Never use sealant, never have a leak. I've used vertex, Cometic and K&S as well. people give alot if grief over pro design cool heads too. "theyre junk, they always leak" I have yet to have one leak.
Your videos are priceless!! Especially for a person like me that handy, but doesn't know what the hell he's doing and is on a budget! Lol! Thanks for taking the time to explain and teach us! The banshee community owes you big time! Thanks again!
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know of a way to log back into an instagram account??

Thanks for the info on this Kevin… I’ll be doing my cool head when it arrives
Thanks for the video. I'm going to be installing a cool head on my Banshee next week. Nice to see it done before I start. Thanks again!!

This was such a great video. You are very good at step by step instructions. Thank you for the info
Trick I learned for the putting grease in to hold orings in at Walmart they have these syringe type medication measurer for giving kids cough syrup fill it up with grease and u can follow the groove while way around just makes it easier for me
Thanks for all you do it really gets me thru my projects to me your the best 👍
I ended up buying a cool head but dad ending up getting the ebay version instead of pro design im just a lil concerned on the domes where the oring sits my domes dont have a oring slot but it came with green ones n im just dont know if its wrong or do i put the oring on top of the cylinder block and then the dome on top i just dont have a slot where the oring stay with out slipping out when you flip it upside down to put the dome on top of block where piston comes out of thanks!

Just installed my Cool Head......Thanks for the help, great video
Your videos are awesome, very informative and a great watch, thank you.
baie dankie jou videos help baie ek geniet hulle en jy ken jou werk
Nice tutorial and Grace works good for me.👍🔧
perfect video. are you using crush washers with the top of the cool head stock nuts ? thanks
How can one have so much wind inside a garage. INSIDE A GARAGE FFS
im a bit late but it was more than likely a fan pointing right at the mic
Have you made a video on building a wire harness
Can you explain to me what the meaning of domms is?
And what are they for?
thank's for your time...
I love your videos
Nice job
Gerson Silva smaller domes increase compression, but then you need higher octane fuel to prevent detonation.
what kind of grease did you use?
There is a torque pattern you need to follow (Same has factory) and you have to torque the nuts to 12 ft. lbs. first then 22.
He uses his impact driver witch seems to be abound 12
What size domes should I use on a stock motor. I'm running toomey t5, vforce 4, and kn filter. I ride in glamis.
Can you put a cool head on a stock banshee that only has lectern carbs
Moto Monnat sure you can.
just picked up a 03 banshee, its leaking coolant out the head n threw the pipes. seems to be condensation in the head aswell when i look threw the head. could this be a head gasket n will i have to do a complete top end rebuild??? thank u for your time

is there this many bugs in texas?
Any special procedure to bleeding out air pockets after installing Cool Heads and adding Coolant ?
Hey man awesome vids im just getting ready for when i buy a banshee should be some time before the summer but do you think you can make a video on coolant service draining it and cleaning the system then refilling it ?

Sure man I can do that for ya!
South Texas Banshee thank man i feel like s pro just paying close attention to all of your vids
What type of domes to use on a 392 to use with pump fuel
Can you do this cool head install while the engine is still on the bike?
Hello sir, first of all great video. I have a question. i was wondering of you can do a top end rebuild video...no top end banshee videos are good. i dont know what the ring gap should be...mines 0.027
I have a modquad head the 2 back studds im having gasket problems being pushed out it has happened 3 times now have you ran into the problem and how did you fix it
Do cool heads come with Orings in the box or do you have to buy them separately
Hey do you any reason as to why I have got18 o rings after un packing my cool head and no large o ring? Two ones around the size of the second to largest o rings you have came with mine instead of the large one

do I use the spark plug that is specifically made for my banshee or do I need a special spark plug if I have work done to the engine?
what cc domes are those? what cc domes do u recommend for pump gas at 800 feet above sea level?
I have put on a 421cc the gasket keeps leaking and water coming out the exhausts what am I doing wrong ? Noss head
What size of domes do I get for stock pistons? Plz help me
MayoSlaysHoe M that depends on what compression you want. 22 cc is stock,21 will give you around 153, 20 will give you up to 180 psi
Off subject but any idea why my stator wiring is getting hot? The regulator is also very hot. Thanks
so how did you torque the cylinder nuts>?
Can you put 20cc domes on stock bore
Sure you can bud. Just watch that spark plug. If it backs out you'll need to run race gas. No higher than 4 on timing
How do you know what comes to put on?
HAVE CYLINDERS AND PISTONS TO 400CC AND COOL HEAD, WHAT SHOULD I PUT?
Audience, do you sale banshees, and how long have you worked on them?
High will you know where to order Yamaha banshee 68.9 piston and rings
yeah fo sho.. i got a quick question..what size jets u need to install?? i have pipes and k$n filters mottor stock lmk thanxs
at sea level, with no air box lid 300 mains and 27.5 pilots air screw at 1-1.5 turns out from.closed and needle at 3rd clip from top (or middle)
if you don't know your elevation just Google your towns elevation.
What if im below sea level with vito pipe and k&n filter but might be changing to two uni filters with over head u tub on carb stock motor...
is .027 the right size for ring gap
I can't find it, but i thought i saw on one of your other videos, the website to order the cool head kit from, and you also showed the chart to know which domes to buy. Can you give that information? 20cc domes will be fine on pump gas, here ya go
www.ebay.com/itm/400261742906
Thought I read that 20cc had to have 98 octane? I run 93.
+Paul Ostaszewski I myself run 200 cc domes on 2 of my bikes with +5 timing on 93, also know tons if other guys that do too. 20 draws the line, 19 and you'll need 50/50 mix or pump/race gas.
+South Texas Banshee Thanks Kevin!
np!
Do you not have to use gaskets you just use the O-rings for the cool heads
Is there piston in there only thing thats confusing me
Do you have a video on squish
as i torque my head down(chariot) i dont wanna go hard i got the same wrench you do i feel as if im torquing to hard cause 20lb isnt much any tips
For reals man I feel like it’s going to freaking snap
What cc domes do I put in on my stock banshee when I install the cool head
21cc domes, you can still run pump gas 93 octane.
when your using that style torque wrench your suppose to stop when you here the first click not click it 3 more time BC now your over torquing the nuts when going past the first click
+South Texas Banshee OK
You can however get a 5 gallon Desert gas tank, it'll help you last a while longer
Best mpg is through a stock banshee, stock jetting, the more jet, more fuel, no way around it.
Can I use Chocolate Pudding? I don't have grease...
I don't know what to say to that sir.
LMAO
I have stock cylinders bored over to 67mm with pro design cool heads. What domes should I run?
Frank Ivey
Got them sleeved or? How you get 67 on stock bore, the answer though is BB domes
South Texas Banshee
Ok thanks wat is the best CC domes to get
Frank Ivey
21cc should be safe for pump gas, I and a lot of guys run 20cc domes with no problems. Just run 93 octane and keep the timing below 4°. Also, be sure to plug chop it. You should be fine man.
South Texas Banshee thanks
how do I know what doms to use on my banshee?
oscar luna depends on do i wanna run pump gas or 110
are you selling the blue banshee with the gold rims or the yellow one?
hey whats up!, gold rim banshee was sold the day it was completed. yellow isnt for sale.
what do cool heads do? and can i install them on my bone stock banshee motor ?or is this an upgrade that you do after?????
p.s im new to banshees and motor work
They supposedly help with cooling, bike can be stock to install one. Just make sure you put the right domes

can u do a video showing how to install a hour meter plz
sure will, I'll do it tomirrow.
hey bud just ordered an hr meter and I'll do a video on it as soon as I get it. Thought i had one here but gave it to a buddy.
hr meter video is up.
i noticed u didnt use the black cool head gasket
jr escobar
black cool head gasket? Cool heads only use O-rings.
Do you have to put a gasket on first?
Frank Ivey
No gasket for a cool
Head, they use o-rings only.
South Texas Banshee
Thanks
👍
What size domes do i use for stock bore?
961jj
That depends on if you want to use pump gas or race
+South Texas Banshee pump gas
961jj
20 or 21cc domes will be fine
+South Texas Banshee thank you
your videos are priceless they help me alot im building a banshee and without you i would be screwed
is that thr right size?
Alec Thayer
?
Alec Thayer
sorry just seen the other question, thats too much, I take it the bore isn't fresh?
for Wiseco top ring multiply your bore size by .004 for end gap
2nd ring multiply by .005
i.e. top ring
64mm bore= 2.52" x .004=.0100
2nd ring
2.52" x .005=..0126
Can you install cool heads with no bored cylinders?
+Roman Coronado
Sure you can.
Roman Coronado yes u can
How much power does this add?
It all depends on supporting mods, it helps the engine run cooler, cooler engines make more power. Depending on dome selection, higher compression will help add some low end punch. For instance you could run 20cc domes and then add °4 degrees of timing, and of you have a a good set of pipes, it'll make really good low end power.
Thanks a bunch man!

Ok so how fast is this banshee i havnt got yet so its a 4mil with coolheads t5 pioes and silencers, brand new cylinder??? Its stretched out and sittin on ten paddle haulers

James Jiles better performance head then stock also better cooling

All that money spent on the engine and you used a green base gasket? Surely you could have ponied up for a cometic or OEM....
These gaskets come with the vitos kits. I use them all the time. Never use sealant, never have a leak. I've used vertex, Cometic and K&S as well. people give alot if grief over pro design cool heads too. "theyre junk, they always leak" I have yet to have one leak.
Horrible sound Why post a vid with sound like that
some people can see something done and that be plenty good for them. Thanks for the comment! They all help
