    Thank God I found your videos. Nicely done very informative. I've been looking for good vids for about a month and these people that post shit on RUclips drive me crazy. I have a banshee transmission torn down from my father in October and he passed away in December. So I've been messing with this thing since January. Thanks to you guys I will be rolling in no time. My friends are gonna want to hire me to work on their shit now because they all said I wasn't going to be able to put it back together. Thank you guys. Again we'll done.

    Buddy I put new cylinders on my banshee and forgot to put the rubber cylinder seals, do i have to take cylinders out and put the seals on them or can it run like that? I did 2 heat cycles and did not see any issues, however i just noticed that and I'm freaking out.

    Lubarcating holes in the exhaust side of the Pistons
    Should this be done ?

    • @kevingalindo1
      @kevingalindo1  2 года назад +1

      No catch tank, but you have to plug the overflow nozzle. You can just take the hose off. It will puke all the coolant out and overheat. I run the stock cap or what cap comes with the ASI rad.

    Hey Kevin, I just got a banshee for the first time and it had a blown motor. So I got new factory oem 64mm cylinders & vertex pistions. After install my compression us 90-100 psi both sides on 2 different gauges. I have re-run and still have low compression. I did get it started and ran 3 heat cycles no gain. Now I tired if kicking it before it starts. What can I do next ?

    Hey South Texas ; Thanks for sharing the 2 smoke Magic with us. I was wondering about the machinework done on those pistons. Specifically on the exhaust side of the domes and the holes drilled above the wrist pin holes. If you could make a Vid about that and if anyone sells Pistons with the mods already done or if we would have to ship the Engine to a machine shop to get the Pistons done to work in harmony with the other mods.

    my 95 banshee will not stop leaking antifreeze between the head and cylinder. I have done everything. I bought new cylinders, new gaskets, vitos studs, new pistons, and it still leaks. im sick and tired of it. can you please help me out? please

    • @TerrickHarden
      @TerrickHarden 8 лет назад

      Did you inspect the head?? Sounds like there isn't a good seal between the head and the cylinder and since you bought new cylinders it more than likely is your head. I'm not an expert but I think that is a good place to start looking. Also make sure when you tighten your head down that you do so in an even pattern so that you dont torque the head uneven..

      Use wiseco, Pro-X or oem and you can't go wrong. those are listed from best to least best with very little difference, P-ro-x are basically OEM quality. as far as machine work, I recommend Nate At KaN Power sports. he does all mins and have never been happier.

    • @kevingalindo1

      i am sadAF
      Hey how are ya, compression test will tell how your top end is wearing. After a rebuild, check compression right away, write it down. Then after break in write it down.
      Then keep a log every 6 months do a health checkup on it. Compression test and write the findings.
      When you notice the numbers falling faster and faster between tests you'll know the top end is beginning to wear.
      But to answer your question a topend with good machine work, tuned and treated well will last many many years. I know of 87 banshees still running great on stock top ends. There is absolutely no reason to be doing top ends every season or every couple of years.

    Ok this is probably a dumb question but if I buy a cylinder kit/rebuild kit is it not ready to install right out of the box?

    • @kevingalindo1
      @kevingalindo1  8 лет назад

      box kits are kinda iffy. Cylinders need to be bored to the pistons. Forged pistons expand when they heat which is why you should never rev a cold bike hard. cast pistons do not. That being said a bore set up for cast pistons would be a tighter tolerance being as they don't expand. if you bought juggs bored for say....65.50 cast and used 65.50 forged, the pistons would heat swell an tolerance would be to tight. so if you buy a set of cylinders thay comes with pistons you have to wander, did they just punch them to 64.50 and grab some 64.50 shelf pistons and chunk ut all in the box or were they actually mic'd and each cylinder set up for each piston???
      I use Kan Powersports , owned Nate and Kimmer Harames of Utah. his work is always flawless, and he does whay needs to be done, takes no chances and take care of you.

      Wiseco 66mm pistons with 66mm rings. I can get the rings in the cylinder all matched up but not after I install them into the piston.
      I think i'm just going to bring it to a local mechanic as this isn't something I want to make a mistake with...

    • @sr20boostjunkie
      @sr20boostjunkie 8 лет назад

      Slank Tapper really all you would have to do is measure the ring gap if it's to big file down untill it is in spec. I just installed rings they were in spec I didn't have to do anything. measure using a feeler gauge.
