Hiya! I'm new here. So much so that I only discovered the Impressions Games City Builder series of games through the upcoming remake of Pharaoh. Louis Godart has done an amazing job rearranging and bringing new life into those tracks... Damnit! I hope Dotemu makes that soundtrack available for purchase. Amazing! As for Children of the Nile, I've come all to familiar with this soundtrack through the History of Egypt Podcast hosted by Dominic Perry (currently stuck in the middle of Hatshepsut's reign around episode 66 or so, because I want to do this series true justice and write a lot of stuff down for record keeping and to entice me to become an Egyptologist, a calling which I'd realised I had mere months after discovering the podcast, Pharaoh and Children of the Nile).
You have created some of the best music around, some of my absolute favorite work in the entire world. Just because this music was known through an enjoyable computer game should not at all detract from the amazing work you composed that has had a very strong impact on me, even spiritually. I first heard it as an adult and my appreciation for the fantastic composition was after I had created music for years myself. That is to say, my praise does not stem from nostalgia related to merely good feelings playing a game as a child, as I barely ever played this game and was most powerfully enchanted by your music, and I've never quite found anything so marvelously put together, even though I research and go through thousands of pieces of professional music every year for the last 20 years or so. I hope that you feel immensely proud of your work even if it isn't very well known, and I would love if you even made more music of any sort that you may wish to express your talents regardless of what might be asked for by a company, though this project was immensely lucky to have been the catalyst which caused you to make some of the best music the world has ever heard! Or at least a few thousand or a million or so people in the world, but that means nothing except we few are the lucky with ears blessed by your amazing expert choices in sounds and execution. Is there any information on all the equipment, instruments, programs, and technology used to produce and compose this work? I'd like all the technical information and even the history of how you thought if each piece and what was requested and how you made the decisions and the ideas involved! theartismagistra@gmail.com
There's nothing like watching your city prosper, your workers adding the finishing touches to your pyramid and The Valley of the Kings starts playing :D
Never got the chance to play Children of the Nile, sadly, though the music is (of course) fantastic and it's fun to speculate based on the recurring motifs from Pharaoh which tracks you composed for that game and which ones Henry Beckett composed instead. Or you could always TELL us :P
Thank you so much for creating these gems. Ever since release I often find myself listening or playing along to these tracks. Many more years to come.. thats for sure ;)
The History of Egypt podcast bought me here.
I learned about this artist from the History of Egypt podcast and now I’m a fan of his music.

Wow, that novice drummer from Pharaoh really grew to be a good drummer in Memories of Thebes. Glad he found a band and a stage.
