Not surprised u heard a Nickleback song... they have always appealed to the ladies... This was their first big hit from 2001 from their 3rd album 'Silver side up' which became their first multi-platinum selling record in the US (6 million copies)
Of course, Nickleback also got a fair share of haters because they were so popular... A 'nickle' is slang for '5 cents' in change 😁A 'dime' is 10 cents... a 'quarter' is 25 cents.
Formed in Canada around 1995 by Chad Kroeger (vocals & guitar) who is Nickleback's main songwriter... his brothers Mike Kroeger (bass) & Brandon Kroeger (drums) joined w/ Ryan Peake (guitar) and released their Canadian debut album 'Curb' in 1996... It was followed by 2nd album 'The State' in 1998 and Ryan Vikedal (drums) joined the band... 'The State' was released in the US and worldwide in 2000 and sold decently in the 'post-grunge' rock scene.
With MTV promoting the single 'How you remind me' from Nickleback's 3rd album 'Silver side up'... the album became a huge hit selling 4 million copies in the US... 4th album 'The long road' in 2003 sold another 3 million copies in the US w/ the hit ballad 'Someday'... and the raunchy rock song 'Figured you out'...
Nickleback scored their biggest album 'All the right reasons' in 2005 w/ Daniel Adair (drums) joining, which sold 6 million copies and charted at #1 w/ the singles - 'Photograph'... 'Rock star' ... 'If everyone cared'... As well as heavy rock songs like - 'Animals' ... 'Side of a bullet'...
Their next album 'Dark Horse' was released in 2008... it sold 3 million copies and produced the hits - 'If today was your last day' ... 'Burn it to the ground'...
Despite CD sales falling after 2010, Nickleback still charted strongly and sold millions of records w/ subsequent albums - 'Here and now' (2011)... 'No fixed address' (2014) ... and 'Feed the machine' (2017)... Afterwards, frontman Chad Kroeger announced that the band was taking a break as he struggled w/ personal problems and alcoholism.
In 2022, Nickleback returned w/ a new album "Get rollin' "... and have been touring again... They have N. American tour dates in 2025.

Nickelback. They were always made fun of in the USA for cheesy music. They never were taken serious.
The first part of the band's name is pronounced like exactly like the 5 cent coin, a nickel.
The funny thing Chad wrote this to pick a fight with his gf at the time and she ended telling him that she loved the lyrics lol😂
You need to find a better ban hahah. They got old fast in USA there songs sound the same a lot the same. But check out white zombie they rock.
