If MTV had any brains, they would hitch themselves to The Warning's train and get pulled back into relevance.
You observations of The Warning on the MTV VMA was spot on. No one was prepared for their appearance. They were real, live and nailed it on the first take. MTV is said to be still looking for the roof that The Warning blew off!
I think maybe they saw it coming.. that's why it was supposed to be outside. The hurricane killed that plan and the building they had as plan B suffered.
Haha, awesome! Some have speculated that the roof achieved orbital velocity and endangered the ISS!
The Warning reminded MTV what the "M" used to stand for!

The future of Rock is here, and it's name is The Warning!
Flawless, Fearless, and Fierce. They have always been that way. To take on covers by Metallica, Muse, AC/DC, Twisted Sister, Motley Crue, Ozzy, and Foo Fighters when they were children requires those qualities. To write their own music at the ages of 9 to 14 also requires those qualities. Not mention talent and support of their parents and music teachers.
Rock has been back for years in Japan and in Europe it never went away. Only in the US and to a certain extent the UK has Hip Hop and R&B swamped the market. Hopefully these girls will lead the line for the return of Rock to the forefront of kids attention. What amazing role models.

The Warning is the best live band on the planet. Up next try the Teatro Metropólitan concert from 2022. The song "Z" opens the show, so you should start there. You have been WARNED!

this was such a huge and powerful exhibition they gave with the short time they were given... they performed two songs, *More* (done first) and this one, *Evolve* which is certainly a fan favorite... Pau (drums) came up with *Evolve* after watching a documentary about evolution and gene manipulation... this isn't the first time she has drawn inspiration from a TV show or movie, either...
i understand that MTV is still looking for their roof LOL
i'm quite proud and happy for DPA/TW for making these milestone appearances at two MTV functions, the MIAW in CDMX (back in Aug 2023) and the VMAs in NY&NJ (Extended Stage) (in Sep 2023)... three additional milestones for their VMA appearance are
1) they are the first Mexican band to perform at the VMAs,
2) they were invited to perform,
3) they were not nominated for anything...
those speak volumes in a great and huge way! now add to that they have been doing this for 10 years... most of that was while independent...
i would also be remiss if i didn't mention that this performance was real unlike the other groups that also performed here... DPA/TW did both of their songs fully live and in one take each while the other performers lip synced and took all three allowed takes... the ""best"" of those takes was selected for airplay... DPA/TW were also the only ones to be announced on the main stage when it was time to present their performances...
watching Pau (drums) firing her *_"Scream of Evolution"_* toward the heavens releasing all of her frustrations and pain so she can *Evolve* and grow past them is always a treat 😜 she has described the scream she does in *Evolve* in similar fashion and she brings it for real each and every time they present this hard rocking power ballad in concert or live sessions...
Pau has also stated that playing here on this stage was a very _surreal moment_ ... she said the stage was very much like the stage in the game Rock Band... i can easily see that they might have felt as if they had been transported into the game... i'm sure they imagined similar when they were playing the game as children and just beginning to find their path in life pre-2012 or so... in Aug 2023 they celebrated their 10th Anniversary as a band... i can't wait to see what the future bring to them!
Fun Fact: Pau has three screams/yells that she does... the first, most well known, one in *Evolve* , one in *Z* , and the other in *Hunter* ...

one of the best and funniest parts was at the end of their session when the stage manager couldn't stop saying "holy shit!" on his open mic 😜😹
Thats how its done!!! I am so proud of how these ladies left it all right there on the stage, no prisoners! The best moment for me is the look on dany's face as she hit that last chord! Her look said it all!!!

TW has several styles of rock but they are invariably pure rock!!
With their structure, their breaks, transitions, rhythm changes, modulations, choruses, pre-choruses, drum attacks, their endings…
The great beauty of their art is in its simplicity but all of this always seems to be at the right time and in the right way, bordering on perfection and predominating sophistication.
And each of their pieces can be very different, but always with all the TW flavor.
It’s more than clear that these sisters have no limits.
They are the queens of the hook, of the riff, the contagious rhythms, the catchy melodies and the ambiguous but deep and powerful messages…

Anything from the August 29, 2022 concert at Teatro Metropolitan is excellent. There are no bad songs in that show. Try one with Paulina singing lead, such as *23, Dust to Dust, Revenant, Narcisista,* or the double lead she does with Dany on *Disciple.* The whole show is over-the-top excellent. It was in Mexico City's oldest, coolest theater. They sold out two shows there, on Monday and Wednesday nights. The crowd sang along with glee. They OWNED that stage for 22 songs.
I get chills just reading this, haha I can't wait to watch it.
@@jacquelinevanbierk the best way to see that concert would be to start at the beginning and follow the flow to the encore... i'm sure there's a playlist with the songs in proper order for individual video viewing but there's also the entire concert in one complete video with opening and closing BTS... numerous reactors load the complete concert video and then keep up with the "chapter" marks so they can start in the same place the next time... this gets you the in between songs interactions and fun whereas the individual videos do not have that at all... it is your show so obviously it is your choice in how you present it to us... we're here for the ride!

When someone asks: what should a perfect live performance be like... well, this is it. This is perfection on stage.
PS: Pau's "scream of destruction" always blow my mind, no matter how many (many, many, many )😄 times I hear it.
Dany’s facial expressions are fucking next level. Ale is in mega rockstar mode. Pau..well Pau is on steroids. A quote from the MTV Video director “I’m a fan! HOLY SHIT!” Dany’s look at the end..Yeah, we did that!

If you want to go back even before the "Queen of the Murder Scene" concept album, try them playing at the Dakota Bar (ie "Copper Bullets" and "Runaway"). You can see how tight they were even back then.

Thank you for checking out The Warning once more, and thank you stating the truth about the Grammys. All these awards shows as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are devoid of Rock and full of pop dribble as well as other genres that have no place there.

It was a legendary performance beyond any shadow of a doubt, MTV didn’t know what had hit them, nor reckoned on loosing their roof - reputed to be still trying to find it 😂. Yeah this is the future of Rock and TW and a few other good bands are joining in!
I don’t know if you have heard of Plush, TW took them on tour with them last year they sure rocked too. What was outstanding to me was one of the few of their covers, Barracuda by Heart, their lead singer/guitarist Moriah was amazing, so much so if you shut your eyes and just listened you would swear that you were listening to Anne Wilson. I was absolutely flabbergasted!

Undoubtedly one of TW's most powerful performances....but....being a guitar player myself MTV should be ashamed of themselves for hiding Dany's guitar somewhere in the next building.
